Finally another drive video from you, thank you for this test! I loved it as one can feel if you like the car or not, everything is in emotions (not the PR and marketing BS "emotions") and feel. Well done as always! Do more tests this year!

Really fantastic video and great summary on this car. I own a GR Yaris and a Tesla model 3 Performance. The Tesla is a fantastic freeway car and a hoot at traffic light wars. However there is NO way my Tesla would ever keep up with the Yaris on a tight, twisty mountain road. I'm lucky enough to live close to mountains as well as a freeway so I can attest to this comparison. Well done on this video

Congratulations for the video! I believe is the standard version right ? I got one without Torsen differentials, for me it does not make sense as I don’t go on Rally mode every weekend, if the road is broken or the weather conditions are worse, the better and confidence this car goes! It is truly an special and unique car!

Thank you!🙏 Yes indeed, it was the one without the Torsen diff.

I’ve had my GR Yaris for a few weeks now. Absolutely agree with you on the fake engine noise. It’s a shame it’s fake but it does actually sound pretty good. I thought I’d definitely fit an exhaust but I’m considering leaving it as is. It’s less obnoxious on the outside and still great inside.

Cool! Great and fun car to have. Yes, I agree. I also wouldn’t change it if it was mine. :)

Good review. Identical spec to mine in the uk.
I had the stock dunlops, its achilles heal, removed before collection from dealership and Goodyear Eagle f1 asymmetric 5's put on. Grip is sensational 🙂

      Thanks James!😃👍
Oh, good point! This one also had the Dunlops on. Good to hear that it’s even better with the Goodyears.
      Great car you have!🙏

@@PureDriveTV It's my daily blast for all weathers and real world road driving😉
Loved your comparison to supercars and, imo, the ultra dull heavy electric cars currently available lol...
Just subscribed after taking a look at your other test drives.
So far watched the Alfa - giulia quadrifoglio. Very good!!
I'm half Italian and love the sound and looks of Italian cars as much as their women, food and wine, but I must admit, reliability, especially in electrical areas, still concerns me. Father had a brand new maserati Quattroporte and auto gearbox played up.
German are likely one of the most reliable I guess.
My previous Hyundai i30N performance pack was brilliant in 3+years of reliability, fingers crossed, the GR4 will be the same.
The N sounded great on the outside, unlike the yaris, but actually don't miss the evil stares from many members of the public that I drove passed 😉😂!
Also for me, the fake internal sound isn't that bad in the yaris and there's also some turbo whistles when the windows are down.
What this manages to gain is at least as much fun, still in a manual, with a good spec of comfort in the luxury/convenience pack guise but with significantly less weight, incredibly sharp handling and masses of awd year round grip. I drive mine in track 50:50 mostly👍

@@James-RJM Haha cool man. Great to hear, thnaks!😃
Yeah, I think the same about Italian cars!
Funny that you say so, but I had a bit in this video where I mention the turbo whistle. I cut it out in the edit when I was trying to shorten the way too long video..😄 But indeed a cool sound!

@@PureDriveTV To be honest, for me and likely other GR4/proper car enthusiasts, the video was short.
I'm quite happy with half an hour +, if the content is good 👍

@@James-RJM Yeah good point. That’s always difficult. Some people say too short, others say too long etc. It’s always trying to find that right balance. But nice to hear that it could have been longer🙏
