Having another 4-5 months to wait to get mine, I have got to STOP watching this video 2 to 3 times a day. I'm torturing myself. I have the same build as you and I'm in love already.
Best part is it's the safest!
I have a LR 3 in Midnight Silver.
Every day, first drive puts a smile on my face
Great car!
Really appreciate you making these videos man. We are so excited for our long range order!
You're going to love it! Is this your first Tesla?
Great video. I loved your quick insight covering the topic on the luxury feeling of the cabin because I haven't seen many others cover that. The alcantara looks amazing. Congratulations on this beautiful car, and thank you so much for spending your time to make these videos!
Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. Let me know if there is anything else you want to see. I'm working on two more videos I'm going to post. One is just on the Yoke steering wheel and the other is a more detailed review of the infotainment system.
@@pucaslife That sounds great! With me I'm just honestly fine with whatever you put out. Both a dive into the yoke and the infotainment sounds amazing. Keep up the great work!
Great review! Steady camera work and amazing detail. I had been curious how similar the model S interior is to the Plaid
Thx for the well thought out video / information. Can you please provide a review of the dashboard and demo the settings?
Contrary to popular opinion, I love the yoke style steering wheel! it's perfect for me because drive with my thumb hanging off the top spoke thing so the groove on top is super comfortable for me! just takes about a week to get use to it.
Same, do you have a long range?
Agreed!
Same here I love it!
Same! Especially for me, I’m a newer driver, it’ll be much easier to get used to, plus it looks and feels like a game controller
Driving this car with this steering wheel in any European city is simply impossible. They must call it “joke” style steering wheel.
This is honestly the best review I’ve seen on CZcams so far for this car.
That is really appreciated! Thanks so much! Let me know if there is anything in particular that you want met to review.
Take a look at my new review on the Yoke Steering Wheel: czcams.com/video/dyTlTfXdv4w/video.html
@@pucaslife You’re welcome. I’m not necessarily interested in a single section of the car per se. I just want to see it as a collective but I’ll be sure to check out future videos!
@@pucaslife I’ve got a Model X Plaid on order so I’ve still got some time until October.
@@michaelrocks1529 That is fantastic, congratulations!
Thanks for the video! Makes me want to go and book one! Hello from Europe.
HI there. Thanks for your video! Why from a model x to this model and not the new model x? Thanks
Thanks for the vid. Patiently waiting for mine. Helps alot with the long range eta September
Congratulations! It's an amazing car! I know you will love it.
How does it ride over bumps compared to your model x?
Hey Thanks for the detail info. I own 2018 Model S 75D. One thing I gripe on my Model S is that it has no door side pocket. Does yours have that? I am also interested in your view on horizontal display over vertical display that old Model S/X had. Thanks again!
Thanks for the review. The paintwork looks amazing. Have you had it treated, or was it delivered like that?
No, this is how it came. Looks even better in person
Great video. The music caught my eye haha, are you also a Kaskade fan?
Very Nice! This is the first video I have seen of the Long Range Model S Refresh. Can you do kind of a sound test of the speakers? The speakers should be way better than the previous one and no one ever does sound tests anyway
Sure, I will fit that in. Great idea. Let me know if you have more ideas.
@@pucaslife Thanks! Yeah sure.
One day, I will own one. Beautiful design.
Nice video. Anyone else noticing the misaligned panels from the back doors to the quarter panels in the interior?
How are the panel gaps in the newer Tesla such as this one?
also do you think we can see the back seats folded? i want to see if it’s flush
Is there a possibility to get a new longe range with the normal steering wheel? I tried the yoke and really didn't like it
Supreme EV, great review!
Thanks for the video! I am taking delivery of mine on the 17th of this month.
Lucky. Ordered back in December and still don’t even have an estimated delivery date in my account
if you cover the whole right side of the steering wheel, it will also activate the horn, wich will feel much more natural than looking for a tiny touch button...
I will have to try that
My S model Plaid is being delivered next week. Does it have XM radio hardware installed? Nice video!
Great idea at the back seat with the wireless charging🔥🇹🇹💯
Thanks for sharing this. Do the front seats have air conditioning in addition to heating?
yes
How do the rear passengers connect to the tv to listen to it? Bluetooth? Trying to make sure what they are watching, I don't have to hear.
Hey, love the car. Got an order in myself.
But can you awnser me this, does the car come with interior ambient lights?
yes it does
I wish the rear was different. Even just a light bar joining the lights.
Hey buddy thanks for the video! Waiting for mine; midnight silver metallic and black interior (October delivery date) ; quick question though; are the brake and acceleration pedals defaulted to chrome?? Or did you install them? Thanks!
Also follow up question: does your phone stay in place on those Qi chargers when you accelerate?? I feel like they might fly off when I play around with the speed of the car
Is this car really a long range version? No news regarding it's delivery till now and there is no badge at the rear.
Where are you filming this?
You said you have a model X and now moving to S .. how is the driving experience of adjusting from SUV hight to Sedan?
Thank you for doing this. We have a reservation for a White LR with black interior (probably October delivery). We have a 2019 Raven LR and wondering how this compares in term of charging times, ride comfort/noise level, and wh/mile efficiency. We drive cross country in spring and fall so spend a bunch of time in the car and interested if it is a noticeable step up. I really like what they have done with the center console that you demo’d - much improved.
This new model s is much quieter than previous model s. Noticeable difference. Much more comfortable on roadtrip
Cool man, I hop you used my referral link?
Get the white interior. It's stunning.
@@jrgb9945 I’m looking into getting a MSLR but I’m skeptical about the white interior. I just don’t want to constantly worry about staining them. Do you have any experience with this?
@@andrewe868 Staining is not an issue with white. If you like white, just get it instead of telling everyone for the rest of your life that you were worried about something that was never a problem. I got cream because the Model 3 and Y have white but not cream. Have white in my 3, so happy to have something unique to the S/X.
I have an estimated delivery date of my model s long range on December 3-21. I hope that's accurate, because I'm so excited.
Do you know it the 2020 tesla model S spoiler fits this new model the one tesla has on their website for $1,500?
How do you think the build quality is? Compared to previous years? Like panels matching, paint etc?
And is it quieter?
WAY Better! I feel like Tesla really uped their game with the new model S!
Terrific video
Very informative
Real
Not dwelling on tiny negative issues
I’ve seen some videos where the narrator tell how much he hates the car because he had to run a 240v wire in his hose
But otherwise it’s a great car
I’m like Really !!??
Are there pockets on the back of the front seats, for kids to have small books placed into?
Nice review, thanks. What size tires does it have front and rear?
Take a look at this video. I talk specifically about the tires. czcams.com/video/Sow2uM4z-Hs/video.html
I'm about to order one, I hear that 21 wheels give a rougher ride, is that true?
Gotta say the yoke and indicator buttons does take time getting used to. But the acceleration on the plaid is unprecedented.
I agree, I’m used to the joke now. In many times I actually prefer it
Thanks for the review. About to pull the trigger on the exact same config. How are the panel gaps?
I really like the video! I just have one concern; how is the head rest on the middle seat in the back row? It doesn't look to me like it's extendable. How tall can one be and still have support for the head in this seat?
Does the car come with and or work with the key card 'key' that the model 3 and y do? I can't find the answer to this question anywhere. I want one of these over a model 3 but want to use an rfid ring, like you can in replacement of a key card on the 3 and y.
Yes, it works with a key card. Also the mobile app. Are use my phone as the primary key via Bluetooth, and put the key card in my wallet just in case I need a secondary key. I love the option of not having to actually carry a real key fob with me.
I still can’t find where USB ports are in my 2021 Model S LR. Now I have to install 240V plug in garage. I refuse to buy $500 wall charger
i dont know if i like the horn button. i like it centered, to press the middle of the wheeldrive/yoke, at my curent car is at the sides and i fail many times to horn in key moments becasue my instinct is to press in the middle.
Yes, I totally understand what you mean. But you get yourself readjusted to the new steering wheel. It feels like a large video game controller. After driving at a couple hundred miles, I’ve really gotten into it. You just learn how to re-orient yourself with new buttons. It’s really grown on me significantly.
When did you place your order?
I keep going back and forth between white interior or cream. Mine is going to be black on the outside with the arachnids. Are you still happy with your choice of white interior?
Yes, I just love the white. And it's holding up really well. Better than I expected.
Do you find the front is a little low and it drags.
Can't wait for the long range review, because my 2018 Model S loosened up BAD over time and was simply a rattle box after a year. Had to get rid of it.
Oh, that’s interesting. I’ve had a 2016 model X, and did not have any situation or experience like you’re describing. I’ll keep you posted on my 2021 model S, and let you know if I start hearing rattling and looseness
@@pucaslife Most every Tesla Model s and x owner I know complains of interior squeaks and rattles. It's in every review magazine as well. It's the #1 dissatisfier of Tesla cars - the interior build quality. Even just closing the door sounds cheap. Nothing like an Audi or E-Class Mercedes. Just curious if they fixed this. Keep us posted.
What a gorgeous car! I would have no problem with the yoke, and it would be so much better to be able to see the screen without ducking your head down to see it. I also love those arachnid wheels!
Never had to 'duck down' to see the instruments in any car I've ever driven. That's what the tilt function is for. You set up the height of the wheel so you can see the gauges perfectly and the top of the steering wheel is aligned with the top of the dash. This is essentially a non-issue, nor has it ever been.
Great video! Will the phone chargers work with a phone case?
Yes mini phone cases it will charge directly through them. You need to look at the details when you buy the case. But my wife has a case where it works perfectly
When did you order your LR version? I placed order in May for Gray/black/arachnid so hopefully getting it soon. Thanks
I ordered mine all the way back in late January early February. It took quite a while to get it. I also think that they move people higher up in the rank if you’re close to the Fremont factory. I only live about 25 miles from the factory.
@@pucaslife Does anyone know if Fremont factory pickup is an option for a new model s and does the delivery fee still apply?
Hi Hello
Do you think you can drive 270 miles with full charge of battery? No stopping or recharging? Thanks
Probably, the Long Range is supposed to get 400miles per charge
I prefer my traditional steering wheel and traditional stalk. ‘20 MS LR+, beige interior with oak paneling, metallic grey, with optional wheels.
So you don't own the new Model S with the Yoke?
Nice. Can you get it with a normal round steering wheel?
No.
Great detailed interior review. Does your phone stay secure on the wireless charge pad when you floor it? The pad looks like it slopes back quite a bit which should prevent the phone from flying around. Thanks!
Exactly correct, yeah it doesn't move when I drive!
Vegan leather is the only leather you get, also the wood trim is the only option on the LR as you cannot get CF.
how the hell did u get a white interior long range ??? i’ve had an order for two months and i heard the only reason it’s delayed is bc of white interior
How is the handling on the new model? Is it better than the old model in terms of handling and feel? Have you had a chance to drive the Taycan and if so, how does the handling and feeling through the steering compare? Thanks.
Great question! Yes, I've driven the Taycan. It was actually a tough decision on the Porsche Taycan vs the Tesla. The Porsche Taycan does handle better, but only slightly. Off the line, the new Model S is just as fast, the LR version is faster than the Taycan 4S and very similar to the Turbo version. The Taycan Turbo S will beat the Tesla LR version, however the Plaid will beat the Porche Taycan Turbo S. Overall, price was also a factor, but ultimately the battery and Auto Pilot were the main deciding factor for me. If you get similar features of the Porsche Taycan 4S, you are likely going to spend around $120-$140 for the car and the fully loaded Model S LR you will spend about $100K. However, remember you have a battery that will go 405 miles fully charged compared to the Taycan that only goes about 230 miles (on it's best day). Plus, I just love Auto Pilot and can't live without it. It was an easy decision for me. With all of that said, I do love the Porsche brand, they just aren't there yet. Maybe in a few years they will have more of a comparison to Tesla.
@@pucaslife Can you feel the torque vectoring? Does the LR have it?
@@navsi3117 isn't it just dual motor?
@@clevernduruza8624 Yes, you're right. The dual motor most likely won't have it. That'll require a differential for that to work. It's most likely only for the Plaid.
So there is no horn button in the middle of the steering wheel any longer?
Seems unsafe to me. The yoke steering wheel in general in unsafe
We love our 2020 Model Y but the S is f’ing sick. I’m tempted to cash in and sell my Y, I was offered $1500less than what I paid for it by CARVANA. But the recent $5K increase and lead time to get one gives me pause. Looking forward to a real-world range/efficiency/charging speed test with the NEW 1860 batteries. At that price point I wish the FRUNK was powered.
I would honestly start saving up for the model S, I think it’s by far the best Tesla ever made. I have an older 2016 model X, and I see that there’s a giant difference here. I like the model Y quite a bit as well, but I think the luxurious factor on the model S is totally worth it!
is the Frunk bigger than model 3 or Y?
Dream garage rn is plaid for a daily and 992 gt3 touring for the weekend
I love Tesla as a daily driver....and Porsche for weekends! I'm with you man! Thinking of a 993 4S, if you know what I mean!
Sold me! Just ordered the same.
How many hours can a Tesla run its AC, starting with a full battery charge, while the car is just standing and not driving around?
2-3 months
How high or low does it sit compared to the Model Y. Does it sit as high as the Y?
It sits low
I wish maybe the letters TESLA in the back were lit with low LED lights or maybe turn red when braking. would that be cool??
That’s a great idea, I think it would look amazing!
I do think the horn should have been in the center instead of a little button so that it can be quickly pressed in a potentially emergency situation.
You can hit the side of the wheel too I believe
did you think to wrap it in black matt?
No, I’m not a big rap guy. I like the traditional pay a little bit more.
This car is WOW the best.. All Tesla Cars are the best.. i Love it
Thanks man, I love it!
Drive 17 Benz C63 Twin-Turbo . Drove Neighbors Model 3 Perf. yesterday, Loved! Model S LOOKS BEST 2 Me! But, $86K-$90K w/tax/ No Self Drive. M3 Perfm.$61,600 w/tax. Hard to drop $90,000 on a Car! Is S worth +$30K?
how to drive this in northen coutries
wow.. the non-plaid comes with this yoke too????
yes
great video leon, how fast do you feel the car is? more than enough? I ordered the black with white interior, but changed it to the red/white interior. Black looks real sleek man
Thanks! I think you will be really happy!
First time I see Tesla Model S I like the yorke.
Wait isn’t this the plaid model s or did they just upgrade the long range model s
this is the new model S, they are all like this from now on. The plaid is the same but it has some extra stuff and obviously the plaid performance.
Loving our PMY and can’t wait to get our PMS.
no interior ambient lighhting Puka?
It doesn’t have that feature, I wish I did. Maybe they will launch site in a software update
How does this differ from plaid???
In my first video I highlight more of the differences. I plan to do another exterior video over the next few days. I’ll try to highlight a couple key points. Look for that new posting. Is there anything in particular you are interested in?
I thought they were only still delivering Plaids.
I like this car , actually my father wanta to buy the plaid as a second car. But man if you seriosly think that this is lixurious than i dont know what you have driven before or what kind of cars offer bmw, porsche or merc in US but they are on different level.
Any lightning ports
USB c to lightning cables especially the official apple ones let you charge at full power.
Tough that the carbon fiber is pretty much a 35k option (have to bump up to plaid.) Wood looks a little lame.. Don't get me wrong I like wood grain just not in here.
Hey man, I totally appreciate your comment. However I really like the wood grain, next to the other colors the silver or white vegan leather the gray cloth panel next to it. I think the combination makes amazing. However I’m also a big fan of the carbon fiber, but I’d rather have that in a Porsche can a tesla.
Great looking car. The steering wheel is no good. I would not consider it if that was the only option. If/when an emergency situation occurs where you have to react without thinking this wheel is a liability. Muscle memory will revert back to what you have always known (yes I teach this).
congrats, how about alignment?
What do you mean by alignment?
@@pucaslife I mean gap issue on door
@@maring031 bro this isnt 2018
Very good video, atleast someone that covers everything and not only the insane 0->100. Can you actually put a roofbox on the new Tesla S?
fucking beautiful car, exactly how i would get it. too bad it's way out of my price range.
Thanks man....save your money.....maybe you can get a model 3!
@@pucaslife oh I’ve got a model 3 and I just took delivery of my black on white model y. What I pay for those 2 is one model s alone lol
@@henrymasters6214 Yeah actually
Spare tyre?
Out of your price range!? Putting 20k down your payments a month is only 1k with insurance for full coverage it might be just a LITTLE more than that. Do you work at McDonald’s or something??
I love the new exterior bumpers🤩 the tail lights are still horrible imo they need to update the lighting tech in it. Other than that FLAWLESS!
i disagree. the old grill was more agressive. the new one just looks like the cheaper model 3
For existing model s owners the exterior styling is very disappointing. Besides a slight change in the front facia, the car looks almost identical to the previous version.
I agree it looks similar, however I honestly feel it's a lot sleeker now. I may do another video where I point out the main differences.
Can you tell me if the fronts seats are ventilated like the Plaid seats are? I currently have Plaid on order, but am leaning on canceling for the long range MS. Your car is indeed beautiful!
Besides the carbon fiber trim option, speed and range, both vehicles are identical in appearance as well as specs.
Also, dont get it twisted the LR is no slouch!
Lol that steering wheel socks. Don't lie
“Socks”?
are those 21 inch wheels?
Yes
Yes, 21" Arachnid Wheels! They look amazing....I love the larger size and the way it makes the car look!
$88k on road?
Not sure why the title says this interior is "better than the Plaid? Silliness. I have the Plaid, and from what I can tell, they are identical inside.
Awesome × ^>
Tesla made me switching from Mercedes and Porsche to a Tesla Model S. It combines the safety and the sporty style.
If your budget is over $100K, just can not see any reason why anyone would choose an AUDI, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Lexus etc. This car provides a far better user experience in every way, shape and form. Many still have no idea about this car. Especially those 50+ who still stuck with the old mentality. You know who have the best car when little kids ooh and ahh when they see a TESLA.
Exactly I don’t understand why people undermined this car it’s very annoying
Many people paying 100k or more for a car is going for that Luxury feeling and quality. Tesla is getting better but they still cant compete on those parameters. You do not expect plastic seats at that pricetag.
But there is no denying that Tesla is more high tech than the competition.
@@torbenjensen189 but what I do expect is a car that can drive itself 😎
@@howlthehell9791 then the Tesla is clearly not for you. But it does have pretty advanced driver aids. But to be honest, they may be the most advanced on the market, but they are not very smooth. Other luxury cars do it better. They dont do as much, but what they do they do better.
@@torbenjensen189 driver aids? Dude the car can drive itself and predict collisions to the point where it takes over and in most cases completely avoids them
