    Out at the HCR SXS Adventure Rally last week we decided to steal the “Viper Machine” KRX and X3 (with permission this time) to see how they do on the rocks. We give our initial impressions of each, chose a definite favorite - at least for Sand Hollow, and we showcase some of the Viper Machine accessories.

      We (mostly Ryan) was probably a bit harsh on the X3.. the comfort of the KRX was incredible. BUT, the bump steer on the x3 was surprisingly bad and it think that was the main complaint any of us had. 35’s didn’t help I’m sure. Probably an easy fix.. would be interested in experiencing some of the aftermarket options to fix that. The fact that both rocked the 35’s without any clutching or gearing was impressive

      Depends on what you're doing and where you're doing it. Dunes and long straights etc the canam has all the power and krx is underpowered. On really rocky trails and mountains the KRX suspension is better and it's built better and it just handles that kind of terrain better. You don't need all that power going through windy trails in spear head va for example, you'll never hit 60 except for a couple gravel roads getting from trail to trail.

    Try this comparison in the dunes with paddles. X3 will win. I’m in the market for a 4 seater. Just sold my yxz. Don’t like the way the 4 seater x3 looks. Looking at that new rzr pro r.

    • @OffCamberInd
      @OffCamberInd  Před 2 lety

      Yup. X3 has almost double the HP. Kawi doesn’t win in the wide open, that’s for sure

    • @Ryan-hp6xt
      @Ryan-hp6xt Před 2 lety

      Like they said in the video, depends on what kind of riding you are doing. I don't live anywhere near the dunes, I live on the east coast, so there's basically no where I will ever need that 200+ hp and the KRX would be better for me.

  • @TheBandit7613
    @TheBandit7613 Před rokem

    The KRX is not competitive with the X3 in any way. In our group the KRX is always in the rear.

    • @OffCamberInd
      @OffCamberInd  Před rokem

      EVERYONE agrees the x3 is significantly faster, especially in wide open terrain. 112 hp to 200 hp - it’s no surprise.
      The X3 is inferior to the KRX in rocks or technical terrain - which we admittedly understand isn’t what everyone cares about in a side by side.
      Both have their strengths and are purpose built

      Have driven both - in the Ozarks and I can honestly say I’m always glad to bump back into my KRX. The X3 is fast but for the type of terrain we ride, I really feel the KRX is better suited.
      The X3 also seems to make a lot more “racket” especially around 5-6k RPM.

    Take this video with a grain of salt because Ryan is a die hard polaris owner. Ryan is always talking crap on can ams and Eric is a die hard kawasaki owner. This was the first video I've watched of them and after watching all of there videos they are great to be honest and I love em but when they are doing a review of these machines it's completely bias. TRUST ME. Go watch there other videos its kawasaki this polaris that.

      Eric sold his Kawi and went with something all new - you’ll see it revealed tomorrow at 11am Mtn time. This isn’t meant to be an official review - it was just first impressions in vehicles we don’t have daily access to, have some fun, and to highlight our friend’s company. Thanks for watching and putting up with Ryan’s strong opinions 😂 can-am are great with a few aftermarket modifications (just like every make)
      See ya on the trails!

    It’s obvious that these guys have been riding the worst machine out there (Polaris) for years and they just can’t make themselves be honest about it. Both of these machines are FAR better than any Polaris ever made and they know it. Riding in a Polaris and then switching to a Can Am is like going from a golf cart to a rally car. I love my Can Am, but I also love the KRX. Kawasaki has done an incredible job with their first entry into the sport sxs segment. Wouldn’t take a Polaris if you gave it to me😀

      Canam power was impressive, steering was horrible.
      KRX was great crawling, comfortable, and handled well. Slow is the only complaint there. If they decide to add a Turbo and long travel, the rest of the OEMs need to watch out
