    Apply acrylic varnish before masking for other colours

    Looks like most 'metalizer' products out there; either peel-off when masked or turn 'dull' when clear coated.
    Some look extremely shinny when applied, but as soon as you drop any clear coat, everything goes south..!
    For the ones I've tried; I just decided to stay away from metallic finishes...(my two cents)....
    I appreciate your video reports...very informative.

      How long does it take to cure before you can handle it or go over with acrylics?

    Is this stuff supposed to do anything that other metal paints can't? I just don't see any difference.

    • @scalemodelmania
      @scalemodelmania  Před 7 lety

      its much like buff-able paints. More for smaller areas then for replacing metal paints like AK extreme metal and Alclad.

      Even when it is buffed over a small area, does it look any different?

      i find it easy to use and the results are very good. Its also good for dry brushing to shine metal edges. May be a personal thing mate. Some people don't like it but others love it.

      Hi mate, i used no primer on some and tamiya grey and gloss black on others. I also used alclad black primer. I sealed it with very light coat of future and AK Interactive glass coat. This stuff will not dry compleatly as it is wax based and with always rub off when you touch it unless you seal it. Let me know how you go mate.

    • @scalemodelmania
      @scalemodelmania  Před 6 lety +1

      can look like metal with a clear coat over it if you go to heavy. Just light coats and its fine.

  • @vietnammodeling

    What did you use to thin it for airbrushing?

    • @scalemodelmania
      @scalemodelmania  Před 9 lety

      +René van der Hart just some white spirit. you may have to play around with the mix a little until you get the consistency you like. Also mix it well to avoid any lumps.
