Restaurants are a whole different beast. I don't recommend you invest in one unless you're willing to work 14 hour days, every day to make it successful.

I live in L.A. and have contemplated visiting or moving to Colombia, but I would definitely would miss Mexican food, in place of the bland Colombian food. :)

Foreigners who visit Colombia complain about the same thing. Although in big cities you can find international food restaurants, traditional Colombian food is very bland compared to Mexican or Asian food. Seasonings, hot chili, and spices are not our priority. (Google translator)

Yeah compared to Mexican and TexMex it is very bland. It’s tasty but not on the same level. I’m actually thinking of opening a Mexican taco spot in Manizales. But the Manizaleños are big babies when it comes to salsa.
