    Nice vid, told you that we should get our hands on these. :) . My coleague Mihai actually did the sniffing and the coding part, credits goes to him, I was just assistant on this one. As for the charge while dicharging problem, we discussed that you should try charging them on the load wires, the BMS should still cut off, we will also try it tomorrow.
    Theoretically charging on the load wires should be possible, the ebikes with regenerative break will charge through the load wires as well. Only one way to find out.

      I use a solar mppt ebike charge controller to charge from the sun into the load wires. Doesn't work on all charge controllers like the green one but other than that it works great if amps arnt to high

    I assume that it can also be powered by an external 5V source instead of shorting the the orange and pink wires together, correct?
    Also are these STM32 CORTEX available for sale with the code written in to it?

    Any limit to how many can be paralleled to one controller? Do you know the serial or parallel limits of the built-in BMS? Does the BMS have a discharge cuttoff voltage? I have a project this would be perfect for (the turn off while charging would actually be an advantage for this one project).

    Would I be able to charge these by just feeding power from my BoostedBoard's wall charger? It's a 54V supply I think. ie, is charging these packs just that simple with the BMS operating?

    Do you have any infos about a battery i found magnet fishing, there's an lcd screen showing up when i touch the light sensor,, and there is 14 pins.I think it is for an es400 scooter...

    hi, i have a hy-rdf-s1004um-mh1 battery, and it gives me an output voltage of 180v. It has a sticker that says OTA with Anti-Theft. Is it possible to make it work with its original voltage? do you have to do a bms bypass ??? Thank you.

    Never thought someone who saved my life in the early DSLR rig days would wind up doing the same for e-bike batteries. Any chance the CAN controller will be back in stock sometime soon, Jehu? I've got seven that I'd like to run - and an 8th that's mysteriously unlocked, but only when connected to their original Eagotech controller.

    This is good work but what about those of us that purchased the packs without any connectors. Could you post a very detailed video on how to connect the third party BMS, load and charge connectors. I am trying to build a small modular Powerwall that can grow as I gain experience and understanding and I'm using the scooter batteries for ease of use... And you sir seem to be the DIY Powerwall guru. When Jehu speaks the Powerwall world listens!

      U can charge them simply by any SMPS with voltage regulation.

      36v, 12,800 mAh. Four 18650s parelleled the connected in series. Each 18650 in those packs has a capacity of 3200 mAh

      Same here. I have 10 of these packs. Probably going to have to solder that chip directly to where those plugs were hacked off.

      8.27.20 I thought that the wires had to be clipped in order to resell them for use in other projects? So now why are they showing up with the wire connectors? I have 9 (360 cells) of the packs which i took apart and put the cells on to 50 of the PCB boards along with 4 of the 3 piece BMS before the daly BMS showed up.

    I would suspect that the CAN network on these is outputting state of charge, voltage, amps, temp, and/or other useful info because the original vehicle these were in probably had a dash or other display.

    It doesn't lock out because u can charge and drive off
    The charge circuit cant handle use of battery while charging sos it locks out for safety
    I wouldn't bother trying to charge and run at same time
    Alternate the banks use and charge instead

    My battery did not come with cables - just little nubs where the wires were cut.

    Guys I did the 3rd pin hack to TP6 and it works, here 3 quick short video that show (not as cool of @jehugarcia and Erik Meike's videos but hopefully useful)
    The 3rd pin hack to TP6
    Search for: "Scooter Battery 3rd pin hack - 40 LGMH1 18650 - Simple Hack to activate the BMS (ep 01)"
    The BMS max discharge amps is 30:
    Search for: "Scooter Battery 3rd pin hack - 40 LGMH1 18650 - Max Amp test (ep 02)"
    The BMS does have low voltage disconnect at 29.5v:

      Using a homemade shunt and cheap multimeter (i.e. somewhat slow response) my pack shuts off if I pull around 25-28 amps. Restarts after about 10 secs by itself.

    36v to 12v buck converter?
    36v Inverter to 110V AC?

    Why not solder the components directly to the bms board and list them on the web cause each safety circuit needs a certain voltage to register it's safety being charged or used so locating the circuits on the board and adding the necessary resistor or other component and done no need to buy a CAN controller just trick the board but at a fraction of the cost and a lil more work but once someone does it and shares it freely it will spread and actually be helpful
