My 88 year old Mom who lives in North East PA was diagnosed with Anaplasmosis last year 2023 in June. Unfortunately, it took a fall and hospilization to find out that's what she had. She had been sleeping in her chair, phone rang, she got up quickly to answer the phone. Drs figure that she passed out falling face 1st onto her kitchen floor. Giving her an awful black eye. She broke her tibial in her sinus. She spent 10 days in the hospital. Thanking God that a doctor in the hospital found out on an MRI that she had anaplasmosis. Blood test also showed it. They treated her with 10 days of Doxycycline. She bounced back well. However, about 3 mths later shes started to have some memory loss at times , seem to be later in day. More when she's tired. She almost seems as though she's lost about 40 yrs in time. Then again she refers things we might forget. Not sure if possible from the concussion. I know she's no spring chicken but I feel its more from fall or anaplasmosis not her age. After shes rested she will later realize she's forgetting or wasn't thinking quite right. Drs said she could have days like that for a long time from the anaplasmosis. We are so thankful to still have her with us. I wish there was more of follow up tests, treatments. My brother is going to seek advice from a naturalist doctor.
A few years ago I went cabin camping Watkins Glen state park with my friend both her & I ended up with Lymes disease from that event. Both of us did not know we were bitten. We both had the classic bulls eye rash, fever, achy, etc. We went to the same urgent care @ different times had different providers & both were treated so differently. My friends doctor ordered the doxycycline told her she probably had Lymes. The provider I saw told me he did not think it was Lymes disease even though I was so sick been camping the week prior & had the classic bullseye. The provider told me he was from the Midwest & there they don't even report the Lymes . I told him that he was working in NY now & I am RN & know it is reportable. He eventually gave me the doxycycline & ordered bloodwork. I went to my primary later & was told I had tested positive for Lymes. My friend went to her doctor where her doctor told her she needed the corpse of the tick to have it analyzed. Bahaha made us laugh. I read some ticks are the size of a poppy seed. My friends bloodwork also was positive. The experience ended camping for us for year. A tick illness is no joke. I am glad you are getting better. Glad you had some good medical people caring for you.
Wow, Jannell, what an ordeal you have been through. I am happy you are on the mend and feeling better. I had never heard of this particular infection from a tick bite. Nor had I ever heard of the one call alpha gal, which another you tuber in Missouri I think, got from a lone star tick. Prayers that you will be totally well soon. Have a Blessed day.
Janelle,
Praying for you that you are starting to feel much better. Thank you for sharing. God Bless from our family to yours from Australia xxx
So very sorry for this trial, beautiful gardener. We pray for your family often.
This is a family channel. Not a dating app! Shame on you!
great and informative video, thank you! i'd love to add tho, don't pick the tick off with your fingers, twizers when picking it off your dog or use your sleeve when taking it off of yourself. don't contact directly if you can.
I had anaplasmosis and babesios last summer. Never even knew I got bit. I thought I had a bad flu. Then I passed out at work and didn't come to until after I was at the hospital. I was out for a good half hour. My co workers called an ambulance. I'm still not 100%
Glad to hear you are recovering from that nasty tick ! Hope Art is getting better as well.
Hi Janelle and sweet family! I’m so sorry to hear you had to deal with Anaplasmosis. Then a reaction to the medication, that’s a lot to deal with. I’m glad to hear your feeling better. I hope Art is doing better too. Have a blessed day!
Oh goodness Janelle,im so sorry you've been through this! I'm so glad your okay, and I hope Art, and the kids are all doing good as well... Thank you for this video, because if we ever get a tick,we just pick it off like anyone would do... This will definitely make us more aware when we do have one...Thank you again, and so thankful you're okay! Much love, and prayers for your family....🤗🙏❤️
Oh Janelle! I’m so sorry that you had this awful experience. I’m praying for continued and complete healing for you. Thank you for sharing this!
My goodness, how scary! My husband had to get an embedded tick out of my head. I like you wrote it down in my planner. Thankful I have not had any reactions! So glad you sought medical care and are on the mend! Don’t over do it. Rest in the Lord.
Oh my dear, I’m so very sorry you experienced this sickness. Such a scary time for you. Gods blessings your recovery will go well.
I'm glad you're doing better. I clicked on this video because I've never heard of anaplasmosis - thank you for sharing.
I hope it was helpful. I had never heard of it before my diagnosis
I'm on week 10 of dealing with Tularemia. I was misdiagnosed for 6 weeks, have been through 4 courses of unbelievably high dosages of antibiotics, and I'm still sick. Now I have either rapid onset Rheumatoid arthritis or Lupus. Possible heart damage and lung damage. We had 6 weeks of Covid in March-April, May was long haul fatigue, then became symptomatic of Tularemia on 12 June. There are less than 200 cases a year in the US, and my medical team is scrambling to try to figure this out. The CDC and Mayo Clinic are involved, but no one knows why I'm resistant to the antibiotics, or why it's still manifesting in different manners. I had a fever of 104-106 for 2 weeks, that they couldn't get down. Of course prior to my diagnosis. It's miserable.
Yikes! That sounds miserable!! Have you explored any of the natural/herbal treatments or just boosting your immune system to help fight the infection? Just a thought…
Oh, Janelle! What a horrible thing to go through. I bet you did think you were going to die. I am so sorry. How terrible to have all those ticks on your property. I hope you are over all this. Love from Michigan ❤
I’m so sorry that nasty tick got you 😔. Glad you’re on the road to recovery. We missed you. Hope Art is better too. What a Summer for you and the family 😮
I'm so glad that you're doing better. Hopefully, it won't happen again.
Just take care of yourself Hun.
I am so sorry to hear your news. I am nurse in France and in alternative treatment we give rifampicin in such case. I hope you'll be better soon.
Oh my goodness! What a nightmare!! I’m glad you are getting better❤ Glad you are sharing your story, I’m sure it will help someone else who might be going through this same thing! Rest and feel better🙏
Those ticks are brutal. I’m so glad you got the treatment and that your feeling better.
So relieved you’re feeling better xx
So glad you’re feeling better ❤❤❤❤
Oh my goodness Janelle! I’m so sorry you went through this! I’m so glad you are much better! And congrats to y’all as well 😉 ❤
Glad you are feeling better.
Thank you for this video! I appreciate learning more.
Very happy you are well now. God bless and keep you.
Oh Janelle. I'm so sorry for what you have been through. It seems like the ticks have been a real issue this year. So glad you are feeling better and recovering. Thank you for sharing this experience with us so we can all learn from it. I hope Art is doing better. Continue prayers for you and your family. God bless you all.
I'm very glad you are feeling better. I had wondered about why I wasn't seeing any of your videos
Wow…I just chatted with you recently. I’m so sorry to hear you had to deal with that! These ticks are something else. I’ve never been raised near woods so I’m pretty ignorant about them. I know (by hearing it) their terrible and dangerous. Their has to be a better way to protect yourself from those buggers! But I’m very happy your on the mend and feeling better. Scary for the kids to see Momma not feeling well. I remember when my mom got sick I couldn’t believe it…of course I was a child. I never imagined my mom sick. I pray all is well now for you dear. Your so sweet and family too. We all enjoy your videos. ♥️
Glad your feeling better you had a rough time. You relax and take care of yourself and congratulations on becoming a Grandma
Glad you are feeling better. I know a few people with lymes, and my mother was bit last night by the tick that can carry Rocky Mt Spotted fever. Keeping a close eye on her.
That’s horrible. I’m praying for you all
Hope you get well soon. Gd bless
How scary, so glad you're better😊
P.S. I saw Charitys video on her Channel ALoopAndaHook.. congratulations to you too🎉
Feel better. I’m in CT. We have our property sprayed and always wear bug spray. Haven’t had an issue since
I’m glad you are feeling better. This is very interesting. We live about 30 min from your town and we have a ton of ticks. We have had a dog contract anaplasmosis and my daughter had a tick that tested positive (I test ticks that attach on our family just to know what to keep an eye out for) for anaplasmosis and multiple with Lyme. Her doctor wouldn’t treat her just because the tick was positive but just wanted to say it’s definitely in our area! I feel like the doctors really lag when it comes to ticks.
So glad you’re doing better. I’m allergic to several antibiotics. When taking new ones I usually begin having hives on the third day.My palms begin to itch and it spreads down my wrists and on to my torso. Take care!
I’m sorry you went through that! Darn ticks!! My dad got Lyme disease several years ago and it was horrible and then not sure if he relapsed a year later or got it again but again was bad! I hope you’re over it now and are done with it!
Avon skin so soft helps repel alot of insects. Glad you are feeling better 😊
So glad your ok but wow what a scare!
Glad you are back. I would be spraying everyone from head to toe when leaving the house.
Ticks are terrible this year. Glad you are feeling better.
I'm praying for you I know it tick bite can change somebody's life
Never wait to take Doxycycline, and alway take it for at least 8 weeks. I’ve had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Alfa Gal and now fighting for my life from Lyme. Pray you have full recovery.
Glad you're feeling better Janelle, did you see the tick that bit you, sounds nasty, take care,xx
I appreciate your. A little bit of medical knowledge but very misleading to people I understand that's what you went through. I understand and I appreciate you bring it to the table. But people are going to be misled by this.
Just the way and the perimeters of your explanation. I know you meant well so I appreciate you. I just see Flaws which need to be pointed out s mainly a timelime.I understand is hard to grasp, especially with something of this Nature, I am not faulting you.I appreciate what you did here.Thank you
I think Kevin from Living Traditions Homestead had that same thing and it really laid him down. He wasn’t able to do his work so Sarah was working without him. It was serious..and I am glad that you are feeling better. He’s better now as well.
Kevin had Ehrlichiosis
Living traditions homestead. Among others that I am watching. And it is so funny what the north to south (all of my family is north and what they tell me -drs. Down south is so different we have shared notes).
Wow, I've never heard of it either! So glad the small dose of doxy was enough. I got erlichiosis a little over a year ago. We get loads of ticks as well and this was our first experience with tick borne illness. They gave me doxy as well, and I did not tolerate it well at all. It tore up my stomach and I had to stop it early for that reason. It gave me a reaction to sunlight for a full year.. that side effect is no joke. I would break out in hives after a few minutes in the sun, for a year!
I had never heard of this until my dad got it. He was in the hospital for a week. He was so sick. IV antibiotics for a whole week through an infectious disease Dr. He’s quite a bit older than you so that’s probably why he had to be hospitalized. I thought he was having a heart attack. He was vomiting, very high fever. Im glad your are ok. One thing they told us was if u ever get it again it’s usually worse than the first time u get it.
If it makes you feel better, I stepped on a Bumble Bee in the arch of my left foot. It’s itching like all get out! 🤣. But I’m fine, not allergic
So sorry I forgot about Hanna
Goodness gracious, I kept wondering how you were all doing, and hoping for the best. That is some scary stuff, this anaplasmosis, and I am happy that you are doing so much better now. Do you know if an immunity is acquired after having it once, or can a person get it again, if another infected tick bites you? Take care, and be safe!
From what I have ready, I have a limited immunity that will wane and then I could get it again 🤷♀️
@@Parsnipsandparsimony Ugh. I was hoping for better.
We have 7 Lyme disease patients at our church. I’m terribly afraid of ticks.
Dis you make the snail pace challenge?
I did wonder why you weren,t posting as much. I was hoping for a video of Charity telling you she was pregnant. We,ve been taking care of our son. He,s been very sick. He had a bad kidney stone. He had a seizure the night after surgery. We,ve had 3 hospital stays. I,m so sorry you got this. Dangerous thing. You might get arthritus symptoms too. I,ve had many tick bites and latch ons. My Grandmother lived in the country, and we would get several everytime we went up there. Back in the day 50 years ago, they didn,t do anything.
We have our yard sprayed. My cousin has Lyme disease 😞
Last year, my husband was in the ICU step-down unit for 8 days with Anaplasmosis, which he contracted in Western PA. His heart rate was above 190 at times & he was delirious. At one point he had a midline IV & had 6 bags of meds & fluids hanging. They think he reacted so badly because he was just coming off of COVID. I guess his immune system was compromised. He doesn't remember most of it. He never saw the tick...
Hello, I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, love , and peace all over the world 🌏. I would love us to be good friends in honesty and in trust so as time goes on it will bring something great for us in the future, hope you don't mind? I'm Frank Lange from Brooklyn New York, where are you from if I may ask?❤
Sorry it took till the end
I was prescribed Doxi once. I will never take it again. 7 days of tummy troubles. Miserable for sure. Happy your feeling better.
I am. Thank you!
Did the dr tell you to take a probiotic along with the Doxycycline?
@@SunshineSarah74 No
@@loispoe4849 you have to take a probiotic while on doxy or it will tear your stomach up. Everybody should be on a probiotic anyway since our guts are what causes most problems in our health.
I am allergic too. It was awful!!!
Any update on how you are now? I got bit and went through the same symptoms that resolved with doxy, I was perfectly normal for 2 months following until I was hiking and felt like I had a heart attack, I went to the er and my ekg showed a different abnormal heart rhythm, they referred me to a cardiologist but all the ones I’ve called I cannot get in for at least 3 months, it’s been a week since my hiking incident and my heart has been giving me trouble since I’m really scared I’m going to have a fatal heart attack at 30 years old
I’m almost 8 months past my initial infection and have had no relapses or reoccurrence of symptoms. If I were you and are still exhibiting cardiac related symptoms, I would check into a cardiac only urgent care. Often they are far more knowledgeable about things like this and can get you seen more quickly. In the meantime, cut out your caffeine which can stress your heart and look into possibly a magnesium supplement. It may help.
I got infested in Texas this past spring and was headed to New England for the summer, the whole time there was infested with ticks. In Massachusetts had to fumigate my airstream to control them, they were on me and my two dogs daily. I asked all my friends if they had a problem and they didn’t. When I got back to Arizona I got the dogs tested and they were positive for anaplasmosis. I couldn’t get a doctor to accept it and test me. I’ve had all the symptoms and then some. I need help, been horribly depressed , heart racing etc. what can I do?
I’m surprised you can’t get a doctor to run bloodwork to test you for this. There are non-prescription options to attempting to treat anaplasmosis that you could try. From what I understand, anaplasmosis is a somewhat self-limiting disease that is acute then done. If you’ve been dealing with symptoms for a long period of time, it would think it possibly is Lyme disease rather than anaplasmosis. I would call your state’s Center for Disease Control and tell them about your infestation and ask them where you can get tested and treated. They should take you serious because this is a problem across the US. Keep advocating for yourself. You know your body and if something is wrong. Don’t stop until you have answers.
I was allergic to that drug made me itch feel worse. In my list to not suscribe. Also got gives from iodine contrast shut off my throat. What works for one does not mean it will for you. Hope your all recovered.
Wait your still breastfeeding?
I was bit with tick lyne positive aalm9wr di3d
I had an allergic reaction to doxy made me pass out
Will you always have this?
I’ll have antibodies for a while…but it’s just like any other virus
By the way, sweetie, it's always up.The only fact is you were looking for an answer. Now you're lost me when you get blood work. What did the blood work come back wiwhy did I never hear the answer to that
Glad you are doing better. I am allergic to penicillin so I can understand that part it it. Have you found yourself to be allergic to red meat now? Just curious if everybody who gets this becomes allergic to red meat. It is so new to me and I am trying learn. Best wishes in your continued recovery ❤️🩹
