After watching the first Kung fu panda. I honestly feel bad for Tai Lung. The dude could still have become a master, a powerful one at that even without being a dragon warrior if things just turn out differently as he grew up. There could have been master oogway, master shifu and a master Tai lung in the jade palace.
Somewhere in the multiverse he did became a master of Jade Palace. So that ponders the question what if.
Maybe someday if Tai Lung Returns maybe he can be redeemed

that scene is so great. tigress isn't demanding or condescending, but worried. about the rest of the five, shifu and about po. and even though they're arguing, it's more like old friends or an old married couple than an actual fight. it also mirrors the boat scene in the second movie.

Seeing someone like Tai Lung scared of the Wuxi Finger hold being used against him was something else to see.
I have a theory that "Master Wu Xi" may have actually been a panda who somehow discovered the Wu Xi finger hold and used it to travel to the spirit realm but may not have been able to find a way out so either he was lost in the spirit realm forever OR the villagers had to save him by providing enough Chi for him to get out. Whichever situation was the case, the pandas probably recognized the danger of the Wu Xi finger hold and it became a forbidden secret technique similar to forbidden jutsus in Naruto; accessible only to the elders of the village.
When Kai figured out how to reverse engineer the mechanics of giving Chi into taking it instead, the pandas turned to Oogway in their desperation and told him about this forbidden Wu Xi finger hold which he then used to send Kai to the spirit realm.

I have a theory about it, Po figured out how to use it just after figuring out the secret ingredient in his father's soup. Nothing, but to make something special, you have to believe it's special. It's kind of goofy, but I perfectly believe that it is either a bluff that doesn't exist and was used to scare people, or it was an actual technique, but never had the 'skadoosh' effect. The only reason it does for Po is because he 'believes' it's special. Therefore it is. Ties in with the first movie pretty well, but likely not true.

Kind of sounds like a "I think, therefore I am." Type of logic where it works as long as the user thinks it works. Then again the only one who uses it is Po.
Shifu probably saw Master Oogway use it at one point. But Master Oogway never taught him how to do it, because its too dangerous. So it is more correct to say that Poe rediscovered the move before he even understood what chi energy was. He had been completely obsessed with the Kung Fu Warriors literally from the moment he came to live with his adopted father.
That's why when Shifu holds him in the grip in the first movie he quotes the text about the creation of the move and why it is called what it is called because of the master who supposedly developed it.
I feel like it is one of the things that people who are inherently good at Kung Fu in that universe eventually figure out and then they realize it is too destructive. This is why when he holds that grip on Tigress she's like are you kidding me. Because that move is literally a one-hit kill and you don't use that thing in training. And it's partially from her that he starts to understand exactly how dangerous that move is and he starts to respect the power a lot more even though he technically rediscovered it because Master Oogway did not directly teach it to Master Shifu or Poe himself.

Could you also explain the nerve attack that Tai Lung and Master Oogway use.
Although I'm not sure about what it is in the Kung Fu Pandaverse, but it's most likely inspired by a common technique seen in many Wuxia novels known as Dian Xue, essentially, it utilizes Qi to temporarily "seal" the nerves or blood movement or motor control(depending on the author tbh since it's technically not possible irl) of the person, leaving them paralyzed for a good while before the seal is gone.
It's basically pressure point striking (which isnt that effective in the slightest btwl but with magical life energy based extra steps
you know that pressure point attack thingy in atla, yeah its prob that but done by a kungfu master
Whenever I look at the Wuxi finger hold.. it reminds me of Musou Attacks from Dynasty Warriors on how every Warrior can perform the power of Musou..

I never thought of it as a ghost story, I always thought the hold only had power over people who were scared by/ knew it, as we see Tai Lung being scared of the technique and it worked and Po knew about and how to do it ant it worked in the third movie on himself. Though idk if anyone else in the shows got skadooshed since I didn't watch them

I like how the Wuxi Finger Hold scene with Tai Lung is a clear reference to, and subversion of, the Five-Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique scene in the end of Kill Bill 2.
In both of them, the climactic showdown between the protagonist and the antagonist ends with the use of a deadly mythical kung-fu technique, allegedly known to the master of both of them, and in both cases the audience does not know the protag can use it up until now. Where it differs of course is that Kiddo confirms that Pai Mei taught her the FPPEHT when Bill asks, while when Tai Lung asks Po whether Shifu taught him the WFH the answer is no... but he figured it out on his own.
Hoping that Tai Lung will have a redemption arc.

I always had the impression that there was a simpler explanation for some of this. As the fandom wiki page for the wuxi finger hold says: "It is a chi-based move that can send mortals to the Spirit Realm." I wasn't under the impression that it would be able to send someone the other way, no matter how much chi you had. I think Kai probably couldn't even use it himself, he just happened to know that it existed because he'd known Oogway.
So I don't think the fact that the hold doesn't work to send you back to the mortal realm really has anything to do with how much chi is needed. It's just not what it does.
By the way we have seen the hold used, I theorized that it releases all of the opponent's chi at once, sending them to the spirit realm.
This would make it very powerful against a chi-vampire like Kai... IF he wasn't already a spirit himself.

the wuxi finger hold could also work like if your a mortal you can only send mortals to the spirit realm but if your a spirit you can do it to spirit because i never seen the show but from what isaac is saying po didnt try it against any other spirit when there was one he just did the same thing as he did to kai another theory is that the wuxi finger hold could differ from master to master like if one master could really wants to kill someone when they use it it kills them but if a master dosnt really want to kill them like im pretty sure po didnt really want to kill tai lung it only sends them to the spirit realm that could be why po dosnt die because he dosnt want to kill himself he only wants to send kai back to the spirit realm
Technically, when Kai is in the mortal realm, he isn’t dead. A Spirit Warrior is someone who has visited the Spirit Realm and returned. Since Po is one of those people, the Wuxi Finger Hold shouldn’t work on him anymore.
Would a mortal in the spirit realm become a spirit if he spent enough time there?

I'm so curious your thoughts on this. I looked and you haven't discussed it yet but what exactly is master oogway to the KFP universe. He called Po his true successor which indicates Po will also have a successor which means theres some sort of role they fill for the universe. Maybe discuss what that could be.

The ending battle would be between the lions and the hyenas, until Kopa and Asante arrive to make peace between the 2 species. They would also have a star-crossed friendship.
