How do you think they will do at the Euros?
*Best according to current Fifa rankings
Qauterfinals
Theyâll take it home
Semis
Semi-finals probably or maybe they can win Euros
Quarter Finals. Will be defeated by Italy
Its the beer, and frieten with mamoet sauce. If they win, they get a small pack with a jupiler.
With stoofvleessaus and a curryweusje special with tomatte ketchup
And a koud bouletje for waiting
And a goeien bicky burger with some bitterballen and a good cold pintje to wait
Jupiler is never a treat. Give them a Westmalle trippel.
I mean thats after they win worlds man. And a bolleke each for the euros.

I remember that summer of 2000. We had such high hopes, Euro's was in our country, we'd expected to do well at the Olympics, and we always do well in the flat stages of the Tour.
and then we got disappointed in all of them.
That's why the government at the time was so eager in starting the Sports Academies, it wasn't just about football.
I always wondered why the Euro 2000 is just a black hole in my memory. I remember collecting the stickers, but apparently it was so bad that we never saw it at home lol

Italy - Belgium 2-1
And got knock out...wow I never see David beat goalith.
I remember being competitive at a young age while coach was worrying about results and we were all just trying to have a good time.
If Sablon had come earlier, it would've been a game-changer for sure. You don't understand WHY it's so important to win or lose at such a young age, and that's a good thing. The next generations are going to continue to grow! đđđ€©
Yeah thatâs why youâre not a professional footballer lol
To be fair.. yes we changed the entire youth development structure, so yes this has changed a lot, but we got to thank our neighbours aswell. Thorgan Hazard, Eden Hazard, Carasco and Origi spend a huge part of their 'football education' in France, while Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Vermaelen, Chadli, Mertens, Dembélé moved to the Netherlands at a very young age. The only country that succeeded in messing up some of our biggest talents was England. Only Boyata, Januzaj and Denayer moved to England and still turned out pretty ok. A lot of bigger talents moved to an English team when they were 14-15-16 years old and their development just stopped: Charly Musonda? What a shame.. Charni Ekangamene? Now a lower league player. Mathias Bossaerts? Doesn't even have a club at the moment. I hope this doesn't happen to players like Romeo Lavia, a 16 yo massive talent who just went to Man City.. on the other hand, nowadays a lot of talented youngsters are still moving abroad and Germany seems to be a prefered destination (Onana at Hamburg, Mangala at Stuttgart.. two future internationals) or France (Eliot Matazo, Francesco Antonucci , etc) or even Italy (Dierckx at Parma, De Winter at Juventus, Vanheusden and Persyn at Inter or Pietro Tomaselli at Roma, the latter being a massive talent). The future looks bright. This golden generation isn't the last one.
excactly, you took the words right out of my mouth...
Lukaku made a mistake going to Chelsea. He's fine now, but he could have been at the top much earlier. He should have gone to Germany or the Netherlands instead, to learn the final steps. Now he has waisted to many years at Chelsea and Everton.
There is something fundamentally wrong in England, and that is that they have to much money. They have great youth programs (or so they say), but for the first team they buy overpriced players, who have to play, of course. You don't spent so many millions to seat these players on the bench and put the cheap youngsters on the field. So only a few of their young talents get to play, the rest ends up at middle class teams or lower. They don't make stars, they make just footballers.
Hope Romeo develops so You can say that he's Belgian and not Italian.
Mertens couldn't get a game in Belgian football, he first went to AGOVV in the Netherlands, then FC Utrecht, then PSV and finally Napoli. All 3 Dutch clubs sold him for a big profit, that's money that Belgian clubs missed out on. Same goes for the other players, all were sold for big profits..
Even if Belgium has a golden generation they don't deserve being number 1 on fifa ranking

Nor do Brazil as well
Videos like these are what make this channel one of the best football channels out there. Not only do we get well explained tactical breakdowns, but other topics like these that dive deeper into the framework of what it takes to make a great team. Great workđđœđđœ
Outstanding video. It's the first time that I see a breakdown of how this "miracle" happened with so much detail. It makes sense that this "tier" system allowed Genk or Anderlecht to produce so much talent right from the inception of these would-be professional players. The process this video describes reminds me of the first chapter of 'Atomic Habits' by James Clear where he explains how the British cycling team improved massively by improving every single aspect of the competition to the last detail.

Now we need a video on France and their INF Clairefontaine academy. France always produces great player's in every position and right now Didier Deschamps is one of the luckiest international managers having a surplus of high quality players to choose from.
It's a solid unit
Except for the RB position we always struggled to have a world class player in there
@@arnaudnirin3950 pavard is world class
@@leoguilhem4583 from what I ve seen I m really not sur of that offensively and defensively he s really average compared to Varane Kimpembe and Hernandez. Defensively is not solid at all everytime he gets passed easily. And when I see that with the fact that at LB position we have a lot of great player like Florend &Benjamin Mendy, Theo Hernandez, Lucas Digne. I could literally take one of those to start at RB.
@@arnaudnirin3950 i have to disagree. Undeniable starter for the best club in the world. Also very proficient offensively for team France. Of course, he is more involved with a player like Giroud who finishes his crosses. I actually think he might have the most assists on Giroud goals on team France. RB is a position with little depth for France, but Pavard is an excellent option as a starter, which he has been for 3 years

Yeah Spain is Ass
I'm Belgian too and I agree with your 50% rate. There are no certainties in euro2020, every match has a potential surprise and it's not always the best team that's winning. I don't think we were better than Portugal, like I don't think Swiss was better than France, but still we won.
If Hazard and De Bruyne can't get fit for the match against Italy it will be very difficult.

Hi, as a Belgian I hope this year (2021) we will take our first win in a big tournament; and hope to repeat that the next year as well. Becource if we can't do it with this generation, it will leave a mark for all to come.
Bu still for a country the size of Belgium it is a performance of its own to be able to get to the nr 1 spot in the fifa ranking. And stay there for a long period. Only to be challanged by Brazille, a country that is as big as whole Europe, and France or Germany, countrys that have a hughe history in football and are more than 10 times the size off Belgium.
It's strange that we, the Belgians can produce a whole team of top players (or at least a handful off them ar realy at the top) while the rest off the world is happy with having just one or two realy top players.
Thanks for the video and greetings from Belgium.

Really neat
It has not only had results in football but have a look in athletics (kim gevaert, tia hellebaut and now naffi thiam as well as the Belgian Tornadoes with the BorlĂše twins), tennis (we had Kim and Justine), hockey, martial arts, etc.
Also the fact that many of the players of our Red Devils play or played in hard championships like the premier league, the Ligua or the Bundesliga is for a lot in our results as it has shown in our victory against Brazil where the knowledge of how they defended by Kompany from playing with those players and coach oin Man City helped us to score on the corner kicks. And the experience Courtous and Hazard gained in Chelsea with players such as Cech or Lampard (or others like Lukaku in Everton then Man City with De Bruyne who came from chelsea via the bundesliga) has its impact too. We are not only known for our golden generation but also for the way we now make sport fun for the youth straight from elementary school to ferry the best to specialized sport schools.
Even though I was playing football when Sablon's system was implemented, a lot of coaches were still more focused on winning than on having fun and player growth. But this was in my case, I can't speak for everyone.
I'm Belgian myself and didn't know anything you just mentioned in the video. Very interesting indeed! I would love for us to win this Euro, so that we could silence some of our neighbouring countries that look down upon us. Not only that, but I do think that this golden generation of Belgian footballers really deserve this. Alas, I think the chances of us winning is rather slim. I hope the results will contradict my opinion on the matter, of course. But well, keep up the good work, much love from Belgium!! :))

How did Belgium became the best in the world?
1. They didn't
czcams.com/video/1Vi5MtBFdJo/video.html
one of the most main reasons why they moved up so quickly to the top of the ranking was that untill 2012 they lost a lot of matches, thus generating less points in the FIFA ranking.
The pointing system is : when you perform better against a team you lost from before, you gain more points...
Since they lost a lot of matches and suddenly started winning they gained more points
Good explaination, Cruyf had an influence as well. They can do better then they are doing for the moment. Thibaut is one of the two best keepers in the world. Belgium will come with more winning games in the future, be patient. They are still growing. From Belgium. Martinez is a good coach, very good one. Belgium - Portugal 1-0! They drink a magical drink from Panoramix(see Astrix). They are forming a real team just like the Smurfs! I believe in De Bruyne, Lukaku and our fenomenal keeper Thibaut. Vertoghen is very good as well. They are winning a lot of games because of the great support of their supporters! Hahaha..... The power lays in forming a strategical team and they are unpredictable.

A video on how the Mourinho mentality are setting back the portuguse coachs ould be great.
At this moment, 29/06, we look forward to a final ! But the most difficult part of the frame, But take it step by step. I consider(ed) Portugal a very hard nut to crack, it was, but we dĂt it. We were at full potential. We lost our keyplayers Hazard and DB, but I think it will be alright. The more you be silent about them, the better ! So that Italy cannot anticipate further. I think they will start, if they canât go on, you can take them off the pitch ! Due to COVID-19, you can use more substitutes. Italy showed clearly not to be that good against Austria, needed so many chances to score, and gave so many chances to the Austrians ! There will be more space, although Mancini knows his tactics, Portugal is technically better than Italy, a strongly forged team and very experienced, defending their titel and winner of the Nations League. But yes, Italy, they only took one goal, as us, Belgium. Although we played against Denmark and Portugal !
The matches of Italy to qualify for Euro 2020 were against far inferieur teams, Bosnia-Herzegovina was the highest ranked.
And if we go on, Switzerland is far more easy to compete with then France. Switzerland is a very solid team, France just screwed it up massively. Spain ? ,good question, I think that we can take them on as well, also preferable above France. Also wait and see there. Final: Denmark ? They really have a very good generation again, sadly lost their captain, although he is alive and well !
You forgot to mention we already beat Denmark in the group stage ;) (co-Belgian here hehe) ... To be honest this generation has the potential but football is a funny game. If they don't get the title this year I do think we will have quite some disappointed supporters but for me personally, they are heroes already!
Re: Portugal: In my honest opinion it is an outrage that they were allowed all these errors on our players. With another referee KDB would NEVER have been injured during that match. Worst performance of a referee so far
Italy will end your false hopes, Belgium is all talk and no action, one shot on net all game against Portugal,.............much better game from other teams like Spain or Italy.
â@@jorgeaguiar5008 Yes, lets forget Belgium is number 1 on the FIFA ranking for years now, that we qualified with a perfect score, that we came out with 9 out of 9 from the group phase and focus solely on a single match which was soured by repeated fouling on the Belgian squad. But yes you are right we are all bark and no bite *dramatic eye roll*
Anyway we will see tonight ;) I don't expect an easy match for sure and Italy is surely not without chance but I belief we will overcome them.

Any given time France, Spain or Portugal will beat Belgium with no effort, did you see how you had one shot on net against Portugal all game? One shot and one lucky goal, no really good chances before or after against Portugal.
You were just lucky and Italy proved it today.

As a Belgian, I'm proud of our golden generation. But what made the Belgian national team so good wasn't actually Belgium at all.It was other countries like England, Germany, Spain, Portugal and France.A few of our upcoming talents like De Bruyne, Lukaku and Eden Hazard and many others got a chance to go play for English teams and that's where they learned heaps and became much better footballplayers.Same with guys that got a chance in Germany, Spain and France.Almost all of our current players learned their traits in other (much bigger) football countries. That's where they got to reach their full potential. And big respect for Martinez who got all of these guys that play for big teams all over Europe to play toghetter as good as they do.
that's true, but you need alot of talent and potential skill to get into one of these countries. And belgium made that possible for them

What Belgium earned from world football. What are their achievements till date!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are great on paper only.
The 4-3-3 was originally the 4-2-3-1, it followed the international trend and only a couple of years ago became the Dutch one with the lone pivot. It is not mandatory.
U7 went from 2v2 to 5v5 and eventually landed on 3v3.
U12 and U13 was one grade that played 11v11 and started playing 8v8 separately 5 or 6 years ago.
The elite set-up is different from the rest.
The academies do not produce many professional players.
Belgium is one of the worst countries for young players to become professional for the simple fact we are year in year out one of the countries with the most foreign players.
Voor Vorst voor vrijheid en voor recht
Small country matters but not that much look at Uruguay they got 2 world cups and have been consistently good throughout the years
Twice in the european championship the team with less effort during the season won , Danemark and Grece playing in small league championship , when players become famous they play in a very demanding first league championship , Zidane for exemple was burn out when injured in the 2006 world cup , so the very best players might not play their best in World or european cup ....
Also most of our good players are injured and all of the best teams are on the same side of the bracket. We could end up having to play Portugal italy france and germany/england in a row.
If one of our players falls back into injury our tournament is over and portgual showed that they are all to keen to have a player on the field whos sole goal is injuring KDB...
Pretty sure they only got rid of the ranking system between U8-U14 in the last 5 years. Not 20 years ago.
I'm not sure if I agree with this video. The organisation of youth academies has been indeed revised in a thorough way, but the impact on the current selection is rather negligible in my opinion. Most of the players in the current selection are pushing 30 which makes them by definition too old for a system that has only been introduced steadily since the mid 2000s. Moreover, a number of players have had their development abroad such as Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Vermaelen, the two Hazard brothers, ... Other players weren't deemed good enough for the Belgian league, but were lucky enough to develop themselves abroad such as Mertens, Naingolan and Chadli. Add a few exceptional talents such as De Bruyne and Lukaku and you have the reason why Belgium is so successful.
Players that would be really impacted by the new system are born in the mid 1990s and then we're speaking about players such as Denayer, Dendoncker, Tielemans and Doku. Not really the top of the bill in the Belgian squad. It's no wonder that Martinez is selecting mostly older players. The generation after De Bruyne - the ones developed by the new system - have everything to prove. The only player that comes close to that level is Tielemans and that's because he's an exceptional talent. The real evidence of the success of the new organisation will be the new generation that comes after Vermaelen, Alderweireld and Hazard. If Belgium can deliver the same amount of talented players then - and only then - it's obvious that Belgium's success is attributed to this new way of working for youth academies. Otherwise, it can be stated it's a combination of luck, having exceptional players and indeed a good development of youth players.
