- Hiking in Tenerife is one of the most popular activities on the island, and it's super easy to see why. The largest of the Canary Islands has some of the most breathtaking hiking locations, that vary between sea side views, desert landscapes, rain forests, volcanos and the tallest mountain in Spain.
In this video we look at what we feel are the stand out must hike destinations and trails on the island. And like always, the fact that it is free and requires very little equipment is a huge bonus when trying to save money while on vacation.

One overlooked advantage of the Canaries is the almost complete absence of mosquitoes, no venomous creatures and other nasties and the safety compared to mainland Europe. This makes hiking far more enjoyable for all including lone females.
are you having a laugh? its one of the worst!!! in 2 months i must have got bitten 100 times!! i tried the anti mosquito repellent and that other stuff, useless. The only thing we think might have worked was the app, but cuz it was high pitched it practically made me deaf!!!
A beautifully made video of a fabulous island. Maybe do a search on the Internet on the possible financial consequences of a flying a drone in Teide National Park??

Thanks! We hiked in February yet the most of it was hiked in March! It's a beautiful time to visit and hike Tenerife as the weather is the best,not too hot or cold!☺️

@@mattfollowill Id also recommend going on weekdays, roads are narrow and ta lot of the locals love heading out on weekends so just a little easier to move about during weekdays

We love hiking and are planning a trip to the Canary Islands but likely don't have time for both Tenerife and La Palma - I've watched both videos and both look amazing! If we had to choose one, which would you recommend?
Cheers thabks for watching 😎🤙 If I had to choose one, it would be La Palma. Don't get me wrong Tenerife is incredible, La Palma just has a bit more diversity and far fewer people. Less development in the island has left loads of great hiking spots. The two national parks in La Palma are among the best anywhere in Europe. Also check out Fajana, we do a video on it. They have similar pools in Tenerife, but not as amazing and there are waaaaayyu fewer people there. We even saw humpbacks breaking only 500 meters from shore.

Do you need any permissions to fly drone there? There airports everywhere soo restricted areas etc + I think it is not allowed to fly in the national parks I read somewhere
No permission needed, just follow DJI app guidelines
Is it so nice in February as well?
Absolutely, all of this was filmed in between February and March. For hiking the temperature is much better this time of the year.
What would you say is the easiest hike for beginners? Anaga?
Depending on where you start, Anaga is probably the easiest. Also there are lots of cool view points you can just pull over and see from the side of the road
oh btw be blooming careful, i almost got killed a couple of times, walking that trail in the far north east of the island. You just have to watch yr step!!! i blame apart from my incompetence, the spectacular views distracting me!!!
