La Palma is the greenest Island of the Canary Islands. This means that the island is full micro climates - volcanic craters - beautiful beaches - jungles - forests - cliff - valleys - peaks and stargazing locations. The diversity in trails is staggering.
The Island is away from the crowds of tourists, so it's a perfect island for those who want to go somewhere less touristy with a wilder adventure side.
Hiking is by far the most popular activity on the Island. With the Cumbre Vieja to the south and the Caldera de Taburiente to the north, there are no shortage of diverse outdoor spaces to explore.
Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the jagged cliffs make for some epic view points, but that doesn't always make swimming possible. The beaches of Tazacorte, Los Tilos and Santa Cruz de La Palma are perfect black sand beaches where you can spend the day swimming. There is also the rock pools of La Fajana where you can visit the most epic rock pools 100% for free on the north tip of the Island.

Yes, it is not the most accesible island, it is not the most comfortable neither the one with the most amenities... but life is short and places like this are in short supply too... rugged like a diamond on the rough. Places like this take an effort to visit, but every drop of sweat will be worth its salt.
Me and my girlfriend came on holidays just for a few days... we did not expect this... we could not live anywhere else after... we could not leave, still can't, so here I remain 11 years later, in the Island were we will spend the rest of ourd lives, blessed by the sun. The Island that, completely unexpectedly, became, from holidays, to our instant home

Awesome video! You really did this phenomenal place justice. Spent the day in LaPalma today and loved every minute. Just sailed away about an hour ago on Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas for our tour of Tenerife tomorrow.

Oooooo that's awesome. Would love a place out there. Fajana was absolutely our favourite by far with our Van. Also got to see humbacks with baby only 400 meters offshore. Absolutely loved that place.
Direct flight from London Gatwick every Thursday. I been 8 times from London Gatwick.

The eruption 🌋 of the volcano was 19th September until December 2021 NOT 2020.

Bald Canaries, I recommend Madeira
The Island's to the east are certainly Bald and Sandy. Not sure if you've been or paid my ch attention to the video, but La Palma is far from Bald. On the clearest of now guys at sunset you can vaguely see Madeira in the Distance

would you recommend going with a tent instead of a van? Are these free campsites made fo it?
There are definitely some areas that a tent would be fantastic. We used Park 4 Nite to find some spots. There is a GR that does the tour of the island and another that is in the shape of a question mark that goes through the heart of both mountain ranges. There are plenty of spots one can camp along the way. These trails are marked well on All Trails and It seems to me like going with a tent would work perfectly in most areas.

Depends what you call boring, if someone wants bidazeled resorts, roller coasters and Casinos then yes they will find it boring. It's a peaceful island full epic scenery, awesome hiking and not many people.
