Finally, a dude who actually does this for real instead of some staged BS in a studio. I needed real world info and you delivered. You rock, my friend. Subscribed.
Skrutinizr Awesome. I’m glad i could help out. Thanks for the sub I really really appreciate it.
of all the floor removal videos this is the most realistic one
+Jayro Ayala thank you. I made it in the fly. When my mom asked me to do it I started with a chisel and hammer then figured why don't I melt this off. Thought of the methods and decided why don't I make a video on this. So, I'm glad you got something out of it. Thank you for watching and don't forget to subscribe.
🙏thank you. that's what people need. Everyone is not a professional.
Fr the other ones I’ve watched the tiles come off to easily
Agreed! This is clear and to the point as a how to video! Thank you!
Dude, you rock. We were scraping that crap up for a few hours and I knew there had to be a better way. Thank you Google and thank you Allan!
Hovhannes Beaver Your welcome. Thank you for watching. Don’t forget to subscribe.
Same here! I'm so glad I found this video
Same here. I spent an evening, got one tile off & the glue is still on the floor and pulls my shoe off, if I accidentally step on it🤭 I looking forward to getting the rest of them up cleanly, now. Thank-you.
I was facing this daunting task yesterday. Thank you so much for your instructions. It worked!! U used a hand held hair dryer to heat and remove each tile one at a time. The tiles came up SOOOOO much easier than the last time I did this!! The last time it was an absolute treacherous mess!!! This time I was able to lift and remove the tiles with minimal effort!! I was still left with the sticky mess on my plywood floor. However, I sprinkled baking soda over the entire floor and used a broom to spread it. Immediately the stickiness disappeared. I then swept up all the baking soda and cleaned the floor with a damp rag or mop to get rid of the baking soda. Thanks again, sir!!!
You used a hair dryer And baking soda remove the glue from floor? This is what I understood.. thank you
Thank you for this info.🙏🥰
Finally an honest and actual method on removing the tiles. Each video shows that chisel method and they seem to be able to remove the tiles with ease. Yeah, if only it were true. The Trafficmaster titles I have for over 10 years are like so strong or stuck to the concrete floor can't even remove a penny-size piece. Thank you!!
Bo K your welcome. I’m glad i could help. Please subscribe to my channel if you don’t mind. Thanks in advance.
Nice trick Allan!!! Getting ready to do the same type of project thanks for the DIY video
We're just getting ready to remove our sticky tile and this is the most helpful video we've found. Thank you!
love 3Min 06 sec comment in background about the fire extinguisher location and your comment "i'm not going to start a fire" , classic LOL
Awesome. I saw your heat blower and I never use my blow dryer, so I used it to get these tiles up. It was so simple and I would have never thought of it. So thanks. You made it interesting with the blow torch for sure.
Fire & Ice Thank you. I’m glad i could help. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. I appreciate you.
This was the exact video I needed to get the vinyl up in my bathroom. Thank you!!!
Glad I stumbled upon your post. Going to remove as much as I can to reduce the cost of installers coming in....
Roy Acosta heck yea. That should cut the cost good. Good luck. I hope you save a bunch of money. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe.
I know you made this video 7 years ago, but you’re still helping people.. my heat gun worked like a charm compared to trying to just scrape those old, nasty tiles off.. I have to admit, I kept waiting for your wood subfloor to catch on fire hoping you had a fire extinguisher handy!! THANK YOU for taking the time to share this more than helpful process!!
😂😂😂😂😂 i had my fingers crossed at I was doing it but I figured if I moved it around it wouldn’t burn. I’m glad it worked. 😂😂😂😂. Thanks for watching.
I have about 30 sq ft of bathroom floor with vinyl tile to remove. I removed almost 1/2 the tile using the archaic hammer and chisel method. Took a break for lunch and while waiting for my food, I just finished watching your video. Needles to say I am headed to Lowe’s right I eat to pick up a heat gun. You just helped me reclaim at least 2 hours that I was about to unknowingly waste. Thank you so much brother. Great video.
OMG, I find it so hilarious that you demonstrated how to remove the exact tile that my husband and I have to remove from a sub floor! So glad I ran across your video (your technique will make the job much easier) as we have about 600 sq. ft. to remove. Thanks for posting!
No problem and your welcome feels good to help people. Yeaay.
Now this is a damn good video. Straight to the point with options and an on hands demonstration. Perfect video Allan and thanks, you just made my whole job a lot easier. Thanks!
🙏🏾💪🏾👍🏾. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm doing a vinyl plank diy, but before I can do the entire floor, I have to remove the linoleum from the kitchen! This is a HUGE help!
Elise Quackenbush your welcome. Thank you for watching. Don’t forget to subscribe.
That's awesome. Thank you so much for showing such a great method. Getting ready to replace bathroom tiles and thought it was gonna be really hard. Very cool!!
David Smeraldo No problem. Thank you for watching and don't forget to subscribe. Good luck with your renovation.
Thank you for the detailed video about how to remove the sticky tile. I am attempting to do this the first time and looking for all helpful info.
Robin Fishback your welcome.
nice trick Allan! thanks for sharing
OMG, I have the exact tile on my floor and have been struggling with method 1, Now I am going to use my heat gun. Thank you so much!
Stacie Van Patten your welcome.
This was the most helpful of all demonstrations. A safe and effective way was the hot air blower. You have to be more experienced ,or on a concrete surface to use the propane torch.
Dwight Davis thank you man i appreciate it. Thanks for watching. Don’t forget to subscribe. I appreciate you.
Thank you for the video. It is perfect for the job of removing vinyl flooring from our small kitchen so that I can replace it with vinyl planking.
Your welcome. Thank you for watching. Don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to the channel. It helps me out a lot. I appreciate you. Glad i could help.
Thanks so much for sharing this info! I didn't have a heat gun but my blow dryer worked just as good!
No problem. Thank you for watching don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. Thanks again.
I'm "looking forward to" doing this, and this is a lifesaver. Thank you!
Better than those Home Depot or Lowe's videos. This is real life example. Thanks for doing this!
Thanks for the advise! Started out the cold chisel way and was ready to give up. Took your advise and got out my torch and an oscillating tool with a scraper and really made fast progress!
No problem. Glad to help. Thank you.
This took me from almost an hour to remove one stupid tile to less than a minute per tile... using my hair dryer and flathead chisel with virtually no effort!! Heat... how common sense! LOL Thx so much dude!!
No problem. Not thinking. Me 🙋🏾♂️ guilty. Don’t feel bad. You got it now. 😎
Thank you so much for putting this out there for us! Getting ready to do the same thing and I was dreading it. But not now. Thanks again man.
No problem. Thank you for watching. Don’t forget to subscribe.
Thank you for this informative and simple easy to remove tiles. Very effective
What A lifesaver lol I see that vinyl tile was everyone’s favorite back in the day 😆 my grandmas house has the living room done & kitchen same style as yours.
You got me excited to want to tackle my kitchen floor now!! I got a hair dryer, but I want that heat gun!!! Thanks 💚
They're like 20-30 bucks and last forever
I knew there was an easier way. Thank you so much for sharing this. 😌
Thanks for the video, about to start this myself so good to see how to properly do it.
Thanks i have a big job to do and i hate removing these things you just made my life easier!
Your a star!
No problem and thanks for watching.
Nice, thank you. Funny too, I love when you were using the blow torch demonstrating what not to do and I heard in the background, " There is a fire extinguisher right there behind you"
This fantastic! I am pretty good with a torch, I think we will use this technique to pull up and replace the damaged ones! Thanks so much for the video!
Dolphin Dreams no problem I'm glad I could help. Please subscribe to my channel.
Great video!! Keep up the good work!
This is awesome. Such a variety of things to finsd on your page. I was actually looking to remove th tile from my bathroom and this might just ve the tool i needed thank you.

Best video I've seen yet on the type of tile and sub-floor that we have. Thanks.
(but I really like the propane torch method - lends that element of danger!) LOL
Mic Tod™ your welcome and thank you so much. Lol
Thank you so much for sharing! This was Very helpful!!
Very helpful video! My laundry room stick & peel tile was all ripped up from previous owners so I needed to figure out how to DIY during this quarantine. He’s cute too 😏
The hot air gun method saved me a lot of trouble. Thanks for the tip!
Andrew Sarangan No problem. Glad i could help. If you don’t mind please subscribe to my channel. That would help me out. Thanks in advance.

I was trying to figure how to get up my kitchen stuck on tiles and BUT GOD🙌🏽🙌🏽I came across your video ❣️Thank you sir👍🏾👍🏾
Nice video, thanks for sharing the ideas.
Thank you for the video. I needed this.
just wanted to say thanks for video..it was very informative.. I'm remodeling my main bathroom and I'm going to replace all the vinyl on the floor... it's going to make it more easier for me... once again thank you !!
Your welcome. Thank you for watching. Glad I could help.
thank you mate great video!!! i didn't think of using a blow-dryer to remove the glue left over on the wooden floor after removing the tiles. thanks again!
Thank you so much for posting this video. I bought a bunch of trafficmaster groutable vinyl tile and found that I needed two more boxes, however Shaw Industries discontinued the product and now I have an almost done kitchen floor that I have to rip up and start over. I'm sure this will help me on the sticky vinyl part of the job.
Wow that sounds like a nightmare. Good luck and I'm glad I could be of assistance.
I try this my friend it worked 100% awesome I was gonna chisel it out it looks amazing thank you very much
+jocerote chupame no problem my friend. Glad I could help. Awesome news. Thank you.
What a great trick. I just tried it using a hairdryer, and I pulled up a tile in 2 minutes, vs. the 15 minutes it was taking me to hack through them before. thanks!
Very good video , I never did this but I feel I can do this comfortably after watching this video.
Dude....you so saved me an enormous amount of time and pain. Instead of a torch I used an electric heat gun-like you'd use outside to strip pain. Worked like a charm! Easier to control to avoid overheating as well. Still some work to do, but you saved me a ton of time and probably some cut fingers. Thanks!
dpepper07 No problem man. I appreciate you watching. Thanks. Don’t forget to subscribe and like the video. It helps the channel out a lot. I appreciate it.
Forgot to say....I'm stripping off two layers of vinyl...on top is the "sticky back" and the bottom layer is on a pine floor with a thick coating of some kind of 75 year old mastic. Allan's method is working though!
Thank you for this ! Trying to get these dang tiles off for my nursery room. Very helpful !
Your welcome. Glad i could help don’t forget to subscribe to the channel.
Excellent and very helpful 👏....thank you
This was very helpful, thank you!

Omg .this is just wot i need to do .iam 65 ' and have been looking at broken tiles for a long time ....thanx for this ' iam off to buy heat gun ....wow 👌😉
Oh wow thank you for sharing this video!
WOOW Allan nice job I am glad I found your video.
Very helpful , Great video - Thanks
Thank you! Will try it myself, and save some money!
Thanks for this video. This worked perfectly. I did 64sq.ft. in an hour after removing the quarter round molding. I recommend opening a window and have a fan moving the air. Lastly, try working your way out of the room because the floor will be very sticky when done.
Love this so much thank you!!!!
Thank you for this video!! 😊
Very good video brother. Exactly what I was looking for. I’m gonna give it a shot with a hair dryer first
So glad i found this!!! Thought i was gonna have to pay someone to get it up

+chessdude67 Your welcome. Glad I could help.
Great Hint!
Good job, thank you!!!
Thanks for the advice...
Well done, good video my friend. I need a heat gun and a proper floor tile blade to get my old lino floor up from our kitchen here in France. The glue they used seems to be nuclear strength and has been there for probably 40 years.
Great video, thanks. Underneath my vinyl adhesive tiles I have old 9x9 (likely asbestos) tiles. Will this method scrape the 9x9 tiles at all/make them friable?
I just did this with the heat gun and it worked fantastic... Thanks A-Dubb...:)
💪🏾👍🏾 Your welcome. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. Thank you. 🙏🏾
Good vid. Thanks!
May not be the safest way but that sure looks like the quickest way to me thanks for sharing
Subbed...I'm taking off our Kitchen Stick on Tiles this week..The transition strip for the Laminate floor will be removed
I'm flag I saw this. Thanks for the tips. Can't wait to start on my floors.👍
Same exact tile and problem with the glue. Loved his determination and willingness to change to heat gun. That fire scared me.
thanks for the help doing floor project and was having a hard time getting that time up, just bought a heating gun
Deyonta' Amarachi great bro . Glad I could help. Glad I made the video.

Jb Luna Your welcome. Glad I helped. Don’t forget to subscribe. Thanks for watching.
Hey that's the one I have! Love it
Thanks for the video! I used the torch method. Loved it!
Dangerous. Glad you didn’t start a fire. That God for that. 🙏🏾 Thanks for watching.
@@adubbproductions just tried using hot water and a sponge. I dipped the sponge in the hot water, ringed out about 90% and just rubbed the tile and after a few seconds the glue melted like the torch.
THANK YOU..saved me ton of money!!!!!!!
No Problem. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it. Don’t forget to subscribe. Thanks again.
thank you, we have a hundred and one jobs to do and this is the final one, think you have saved me an afternoon of hardship here.
Glad I was able to help.
Thank you, we got rows of tiles up, and found more beneath, we have become tiled out and to save on time are thinking of laying lino over it,,,,but how do you remove the tackyness for good?
Unfortunatly I don't have a fix to that problem. When I took mine up I just played laminate flooring over it. I think eventually the glue drys and gets hard again but I'm not sure.
Thank you so much anyway. I am so impressed with how quick you got back to me. My field of expertise is photography and photoshop. Should you need ny assistance ever let me know.
Thank you. Class act. I appreciate you.
Your'e a genius! thanks!
Very helpful
Outstanding information, much thanks to you!
+Zachary Danger thank you and your welcome. Don't forget to subscribe.
A-Dubb Productions - Done, and I bought a heat gun after watching the video.
Time to go do work!
Thanks for the video..Will try this technique.
+reofan990 no problem. Trust me it will work out fine with the heat gun. Warms then loosens the glue and the longer the heat gun is on the faster the glue loosens. Let me know how it turns out.
Thank you! May God bless you and yours!
Bob Green thank you for watching God bless you to. Please subscribe to my channel if you don’t mind.
Thank you very much. Very good information!
+Greg Smith your welcome. Glad I helped.
