    I would have simply left the backing on the tile instead of messing with the shower curtain. Score the paper with a utility knife using a ruler to create a 1 inch or so border, then peel off the border only. Voila, tiles only sticky at the edges.

      Great idea. I'm going to try it out. Although the floor I'm going to be covering is linoleum and it's so ugly, the landlord should be paying me for covering it 😁. It's uneven as well, but there's nothing I can do about that 🤷

    • @cjb128
      @cjb128 Před 3 lety +1

      Even tho' I like her idea, it's brill ... it's just a quick underlayment. Subflooring is generally wood or concrete. From bottom up, in order of layment in a house above a basement it would be first the wood nailed to the joists, which is a subfloor, then an underlay, then the visible tile or wood "finish" floor. It has several purposes such as it provides a moisture barrier to protect the finishing (decorative) flooring, it provides support for it as well, and it helps to absorb sound. Some apartments install thin sub-flooring and underlayment, and that's why you can hear footsteps above you, a real nuisance in some buildings. For laminate, they generally use a thin foam underlay which stabilizes the top layer.

    Just did the marble look in the foyer/entry way. However mine is a smaller size. I debated if I wanted to go the bigger one. But I wanted a more staggered or checkered look. It was harder to get it aligned that way. Can not imagine doing all that work for a rental. Kudos to you. FYI, toilets and doorways are the devil during this process.
