I did a peel and stick floor in my kitchen.. I got the peel and stick from Lowes on clearance for under $100 (My kitchen is around 15x20 ft). I own my house, so I was able to get groutable peel and stick and grout it. Obviously that is more permanent so not good for renting, but I laid the tiles in a herringbone pattern and it is seriously SO nice looking. It is my favorite project I've ever done on my house!

Also an over 60 Grandma home owner...lol, I have the frosted privacy stuff on some of my windows (from Ace Hardware as my small town doesn't have many stores). These still let a lot of light in, and heat in summer. So on my back dining room door I also covered it with contact paper in the wood design as my wooden screen didn't block the top portion and was a pain to keep moving to access the door. I also used a print contact paper to cover my bathroom window. This still lets some light in, gives me not only privacy but seems to open up the bathroom since I no longer need to hang a curtain (folds take up a small space) and I can use the ledge to decorate with candles.

I live in Florida, where moisture & mold have to be considered with any product I want to try. We had a tidal surge after the last hurricane. Within 2 days, mold made it necessary to remove the bottom half of the walls. We don't use a lot of carpet because of the storms and water that's always a threat. Peel & Stick flooring is a blessing for getting the floors done and moving on to the next thing. This video has been an education for me; and I already knew a lot. Thank you so much for the effort & good taste you obviously put into your work.

I liked your idea of using a shower curtain as a barrier to the peel and stick flooring so you can remove it easily. Have you tried using a moisture barrier underlayment? Home Depot sells it SUPER cheap and it's literally just a roll of black plastic so there wouldn't be a section with holes in it for shower curtain rings. Also, how did you seal around areas like the bathtub? The only thing holding me back from this is the idea of not sealing it there and water splashing down in between the bathtub and the now "floating" floor. . . but I don't want to use an actual sealer there in an apt.

    • @Wendy-xe2xw

Save the money on the privacy film. Just get a bottle of white school glue and paint it on with a small foam craft roller. It works just the same for way WAY less. I did this to my windows at my door and it's been on over a year and still looks perfect. Let's the light in but you can't see through. And if you decide you don't want it on anymore you can just peel or scrape it off. You can also do designs with tape, paint on your glue and then peel the tape off before it dries!

Instead of peel film there is a spray paint product that is easier to use. Also there is a flooring called SmartDrop that is great as you can take it with you if you move. No sticky glue, literally you drop it on top of the existing floor. Not cheap but you can take it with you instead of upgrading for the landlord.

Hey Boo! 😊Thank you for all of your awesome ideas! I lost my home to a fire and while I'm in limbo-land, I'm a renter. My family's safe and that's what's important to me. It's just nice to be able to make a temporary living space feel like a home, especially with young children! Thanks for the fabulous ideas! Happy 2023!🥰

You have some very clever ideas! I found 2 that I'm going to use right away to jazz up our home for selling. 1. Stick on tile back splash and 2. half privacy film window in the kitchen.😊

I’ll say it again. Yay for apartment tips!! I gave sidelights in my front door and I actually put cute little signs in each small window. I like to see who comes to my door. But many neighbors use the privacy film and I swear no other CZcamsr addresses the apartment!!! Thank u!!!!

Dee from Orlando! I love that you mentioned a few things I have already tried! I used a faux stone pattern peel n stick wallpaper as backsplash under my cupboards and behind my sink and stove. It so transformed my rental! I'm definitely going to try the peel and stick moulding as well as a contact paper cover for my bathroom cabinet/ sink area. A great product by 3M is their curtain rod holders! I love in a duplex built in 1984... The walls don't hold curtain rod hardware well at all... But Command did the trick! Thank you again for your great tips!!

Thank you for the great inspiration. 🙏

I'm so with you on the wood grain contact paper. Unbelievably I get mine at Dollar Tree! They have a light grain and a very rich dark grain. When you see the roll you might think "nah, this looks cheap" don't listen to that little voice! Hahaha. It's a mental thing because of the price. Try it. Once it is on the item no matter what it is, it looks fantastic!

This is wonderful info! I have a first floor bathroom I’ve wanted to transform but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on so I see lots of things I can do now. And I wanted to put mirrors up in my little home gym to see my form and now I can without being concern about it staying up. And lastly, I can finally put these pictures shelves up myself with the command strips. Thanks for advice!

Hey Wayna Hey! 👋I love 💕your videos, you are so helpful. I am a homeowner, your hacks for renters have helped me gain the confidence to tackle small projects around my home without regret or fear. So, I have already purchased the peel and stick tiles for a kitchen project, but my walls are textured. I will be purchasing the polywall panels and applying the peel and stick to that surface. Thank you and I can't wait until your next video!

I use the spray on privacy film.
It looks like frosted glass, got it at Home Depot. You can also use
Stencils with it...Its a lot cheaper
than the rolls.. One can covers 2 huge windows, you need several
    sprays...❤

Hi, Wayna. Another great, informative video. I really like and appreciate this is a compilation of all your favorites, recommendations and products and design ideas you've used in the past. I really appreciate that you've scoured Amazon and the big box stores for what you recommend and what is the best value.
You really do a great service to renters, but also to home owners. I own; but I have absolutely zero design ingenuity or creativity. I know what I like and what I admire in decor (your design aesthetic is On Point👍), I just have no energy, and that unfortunately extends to any creativity.
All of your videos are a great source of knowledge and recommendations for when I ever eventually try to zazz up my space.
Thank you, and much love and admiration from Louisville, Kentucky. ❤

Just found your channel. Thanks for the renter friendly advice!. My previous apartment was on the first floor. I had French doors and both bedroom windows faced the parking lot with a side window near the sidewalk. Privacy film was a game changer!! I initially purchased a roll from Joanns. But with the amount I needed, I opted for clear contact paper from the Dollar Tree. It is actually frosted. Worked like a charm! For a fraction of the cost!

Just happen to come across this and so glad I did. Really enjoyed your ideas. I have used the peel n stick wallpaper, white background with white oak trees, to cover ugly sliding closet doors. Came out great. Also covered glass pane door with the frosted film, the one with birds and branches. These products change the whole feel of a room. Thanks for your ideas.

I love these ideas! I recently moved into a gutted 2003 fiberglass shuttle bus :-) I have not actually built the inside but I did not know what I wanted to do once I got the insulation put up and now I do! But first I'm going to binge watch as many of your CZcams videos as I can! I really would love to see what you would do if you got your hands on a bus and decided to convert it into a Waynaworld bus :-) then you can hit the road and do pop up remodels :-) that would be so much fun oh my goodness

First time watching you, loved everything you recommended. Can't wait to watch more vids. The contact brand of contact paper also sells a peel and stick you can use for windows. It's not as cute as the ones you showed but it is a big roll for like $12.00. I'm going to try one of your floor recommendations. 🤗 Thank you

OMG, you are a life saver. I wanted to redo my office with wall paper but b/c it's textured, I was told it wouldn't stay. I definitely going to look for this poly wall at my local Lowes. This seems so much quicker than smoothing out the wall. Thank you sooo much!!
