- Its finally time, you guys have asked many questions regarding my build and are curious to see what it took to get my car running low 12's all motor. I am kicking off this NEW build series going over every little step it takes to build an all motor monster! Make sure you hit like and share this video!
You can make an adapter that fits into the spark plug hole so you can run 50psi of shop air into your combustion chamber so your valves stay sealed while the engine is built.
Dude thats fucking genius
This build series is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I have an '04 EP3 Si I was planning on doing a straight K24 swap on...but now I've decided to do K20/K24 turbo build. I've done my fair share of D/B/H swaps and involved in 1 K24A2 EG hatch build, so I've been researching my EP3 K-turbo build since I bought the car 2 years ago. I know the basics and I'm hoping that your build series will fill in the gaps of what I don't know. #staymotorvated #staycommitted
I'm looking for a k24 engine to built up. But I can't find, ebay is too risky I guess. I live in Germany and there not too many people who interested in swapping engines and all.
Got any videos building the ep3
How did your build turn out I just picked up a 2005 EP3 and plan on doing this build with AWD conversion.
Just what I've been looking for! Detailed, and straight to the point. Can't wait to start on my k build!
On point explanation n procedure, I want a RSX now 😅🥶they clean af
I just got a base rsx n I want to build a motor.
I was going to sell my base and save up to buy a type s but realized I could just build motor to make the same power roughly and it would be more satisfying to tell people it's just a base 😊👍
Rebuilding a K-series head is expensive af. It's gonna take me a few years to buy all of this stuff, but I'm building the K24 out of my moms old 2003 CR-V with forged internals (h-beam rods, stroker crank, 11.5:1 compression pistons, etc.), and using the head from a junkyard 2005 Civic SI, all going into a 2005 EM2 (Civic EX) with the knuckles/brake system from the CR-V as well to get the car into 5-lug and disk brakes on all four corners. I've already got the CR-V K24 and knuckles (replaced bearings in knuckles), new cv axles, in the car and it runs and drives, with new polyurethane bushings throughout, new end links, rack ends, ball joints, etc., custom delrin engine mounts, aftermarket rear control arms, lowered on some Skunk2 coilovers, Skunk2 adjustable camber bars in the rear. Now I'm just buying a bit at a time to rebuild the engine and head and get all the bolt-ons I need, like fuel pump, regulator, timing chain tensioner, short shifter, all the bits for the transmission (bearing and seal kit, all new bolts, etc..) shit really adds up if you want to make it solid. I'm not building this thing to be a race car. I don't want to have to rebuild everything every time I get on it. I just want it to be fast and reliable on the street, and that costs a lot of money.
Brooo you don't understand how much of a huge help this build guide is!! I blew my motor the other day and bought a new one and I'm gonna build it using your guides... Thank you so much for the info man🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
My good friend sent me this video & all the other ones that follow. Very informative 👏🏻 👌🏻 Thank you for all your time and effort in helping us understand the process. 🙏🏻🙌🏻
Thanks for doing this. It will probably save me and many others some mistakes. I look forward to the rest of the series. I will definitely continue to follow this build with all of the information you provide. Maybe at the end you could do a total cost and show every special tool you do or do not need. Good stuff.
Was messing around on youtube when I saw this and gave it a watch. You make it look super simple and relatively easy to do. I've been contemplating taking my 02 rsx and doing some work to it but haven't seen any real informational videos until this one. Thanks man
1st valve - oh shit I did it!
2nd valve - ok I get it!
3rd valve - fuh yeah let’s do thiss!
4th valve - Damn I’m excited
5th valve - wow there’s so many valves to do
6th valve - fuh! I gotta do this 16x?!
7th valve - ugh 😩 I’m almost there
8th valve - fuh this shii! I need a break.
9th valve - I’m on a mission
Last valve - I’m so excited!!!
DONE!!!! Brush shoulders and you feel a sense of pride and excitement
These videos are helping me build the courage to do a build by myself. I have an 09 si. I plan on building the head, block (possible k24a2), transmission and turbo. Need to gather a parts list for my goal of a reliable 400whp daily. In the end, I want the car to drive and look like it should've came from the factory boosted. I've always done my own work, but never worked on the inside of a motor or transmission. It's intimidating, but I really want to learn.
Very well done. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. By far the best K Series assembly videos out there.
Started building my 06 rsx this week. Just Bought k20a2 long block and tore it down. Ripped the front end apart and radiator out of car. Your videos help me look for the right internals to look at. This will be my first build and was lost at first.
You and young static on CZcams arr definitely gonns help me when i build a k24 this year
This is awesome that your doing this! I am building a K20/k24 engine. I have my head ready for port and polish, but will keep watching to help build.
Thanks Serg, great video very detailed explaination. There are only a few others that show this process in this manner, between all of you and the various articles available online just about anyone can build their own K-series engine and work on their own Honda's.
Building my first k20 hopefully everything goes well
Awesome glad your video was suggested first couldn’t have been any clearer I hope I can message you for future questions! 👍🏼
Very helpful, this will be my first time doing any real engine work. Thanks so much!
I recommend getting a bunch of rope pieces, wadding them up, putting them in 'balls' under the head at the valves and then using a tie down strap to secure the head tightly to your workbench. The rope is soft, won't hurt anything and I found, when using something similarly described, it was kind of difficult to get it exactly under the valve to stop it moving. I ended up doing what I described and it went like so easy. There are different thicknesses for tie downs-get a very thin width one so you don't have to move it much at all during the cylinder to cylinder movements.
When are you going to post the PT.2 ?
Great info man! Torque specs would be great for those who don’t have the maintenance book/manual. Keep up the good work
Love the video. Very good information. One thing I would advise anyone in the future who's watching though, don't use supertech valve seals. Please use the OEM ones. The supertech a notorious for premature failure. You don't want to have to do the job twice...
Dude seriously I love the attention to detail on these vids
Nice video, i'm in the process of rebuilding my 205k mile k20z3 and this will be very useful. I need to get me some of those intake manifold studs, I had my starter replaced a few winters ago and the butt munches cross threaded the nut on one of the studs for the intake manifold, so I had to spend hours carefully cutting off the nut with a dremel. Gouged my RBC slightly but could buff most of it out with a grinding stone. The engine's been a tank and only issue really is crazy oil consumption. Ordered a manley valvetrain kit, all new intake and exhaust valve guides, valves etc.
The amount of shitty and non-metric home depot bolts I've found on this car during it's teardown has been disconcerting. If it's not a flange bolt/nut YOU'RE WRONG!
Great video, detail detail detail!!
I built a K20A2 back when they just came out, threw in Sk2 stage 2 cams, springs, and it kept stripping the teeth on the timing chain tensioner, I went through 4 tensioners and then finally took the cams out. Toda was the only company selling an aftermarket tensioner at the time, got fed up so didn’t even try it. I’d upgrade the chain tensioner if I were you.
Thanks for the info man I learned a few things I needed to know Incase of future k swap in my dc2
The inevitable
Thanks serg! Makes me more confident, about to start my dream home garage! Greetings all the way from Malaysia!
Those springs can go either way, if anyone's wondering...there's no top or bottom. Some springs aren't like that, and have a top.
It's my dream to build a K24 w K20 top end since learning about it so this will come in super handy! It may be a while but It'll happen. Keep up the awesome info in the videos!
You make the best video bro not going to lie
love this series!
can't wait to see the complete engine start to finish!
Great video. The best series on yt for k series building. Thanks
Hey thank you very much!
Very informative.
A novice like me actually learned some worthy knowledge.
Well done
This is the perfect video. I’ll be recording following these steps exactly and let you know how it goes
the rubber for the Ex seal can withstand hotter temps than the intake side.
Thank you. Exellent.
Please keep up the great material.
God bless
Nice video bro a lot of info is simple ones you got the knowledge with the right tools 🛠
Nice catch on the cracked keeper 👊🏼
Excellent video
Your videos are on point my man. My go to rsx channel. Just got mine tuned last week. Completely stock k20 with basic bolt ons made 213hp. Hoping to run a 13 sec pass next season
This definitely was helpful good look man. Definitely comfortable of doing it myself 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Loving the build guide! keep the videos coming. I'm building a K20A myself for my EK Civic. you should do a parts list for your videos - that would help us all out a lot.
Awesome video! I plan on doing a K20/24 build on my 03 RSX Type-S. I will probably use this series of videos as a basis for how to do it.
👏👏 just did this to my All Motor k24/20 build.. DIY is the way to go, but there is a head valve spring compressor that hold top & bottom I bought mine years ago just FYI
I have a 06 Honda Civic si coupe k24-a2 bottom and k20-a2 top setup built super fast.
Looking forward to all the videos for this build thanks so much this is exactly what I want to build in my 97 honda civic coupe thanks again
Great video there’s a k24 lying around the shop that im taking home
Just subscribed. I have an 06 RSX and was thinking of doing a build similar. This greatly help me price things out and start saving. I appreciate that you give the names and part numbers!
Good attention to detail and tips man, I'll definitely be following these vids 👍
The last part u put in how to put the seals in ?
I bought one of those eBay valve spring removers, that looks identical to the one you are using. I used it once and it ripped all the aluminum threads out of the tool.
Good stuff! Looking forward to more of this build process!
Dude you said part 1 like there was going to be more. But this is the only one.
Thanks for knowledge awesome teaching
Keep up the good work bro. I’m working on my k24
Great video I am very excited to see the rest of this series so when I go to do my k20 I will be prepared

New subscriber!i liked this video a lot very helpful I’m building a kseries my self too! Hopefully i can learn from you my friend ‼️💪🏼
Decent stuff. Thanks. Very helpful
I thought super tech is a walmart branded item. I'm soon rebuilding one of my k24's so looking for a good Valle train spring
Keep it up really informative video series!
Dope Video. Keep them coming!
You would think they'd use their brains and be smart about the color coding on the valve seals. Blue should be for fresh air (intake) and brown should be for exhaust. It just makes sense.
Off To A Great Start 💪👍🔰
Thanks for sharing knowledge homie 👊
Excellent content, thank you!
Good video can wait for more, big fan Serg
Very helpful. Thanks brother
Great content just subscribed 👍🏽
Amazing video once ny k20z1 goes im going to k24 swap! Post notifications on!
When are you going to leave part two? is helping me a lot with the assembly of my engine I'm waiting!
loved it keep it coming
Appreciate the video , great content !!!
Thanks
Muh dood i asked for this video series long time ago and you said you ll do it! God bless my bro ❤👏☺
Just some questions, is 5w30 best oil to use for the setup? , do you have to use an adjustable cam gear for the k20 k24 build? Do you use a k20a/k20a2 or k20z4 head? And k24a2 block? Is it ok to use k24a3 block? (From european accord cl9) i also want to know what kind of ecu programming you use? Do i have to replace pistons or original can withstand 260HP? Sorry for asking so much but i am really motivated to build a frank engine, thanks :)
if you follow the build guide i will cover all those questions in detail for everyone 👍
Nice one homie, keep it up 👍
