Finally a proper build without turbos lol. I miss my k20a2, reliable and bulletproof. Sold my RSX with 180k before moving overseas. Mechanically solid, didn't even change the accessory belt till like 150k. Best Honda engines ever.
You speak only the truth my friend
If only they could have kept the hoods closed while driving lol
"Proper build" lol
Had a b18c that had a blown ring and a cam was eating the head and still took 8.5k daily until I had it swapped. Never blew up. Fun times.
Ya i know exactly what you mean who would want to actually go fast anyway 😂
this is the level of work I want to do some day.. he's clearly extremely passionate for a long long time about building engines
He has been passionate about building engines, tuning, and making fast cars for a very long time! They are a local shop here in Minnesota and do stellar work
Agreed! What engine are you dreaming of building?
Me too bro
@@WarriorsPhoto for me I would build a 3.3L H6 for my BRZ. 250-270whp would be ideal for the BRZ. I mean, a lot more if I felt like upgrading everything else too. But I just want a little more oomph to go along with the amazing handling that it is already capable of
@@joshuacstorlie That sounds like an amazing idea. At that power point the car would be amazing on the streets. Maybe even track. Get to building.
Mechanical engineer who works for a tool company that makes torque wrenches: Supporting the drive side of the torque wrench with your left hand while applying force with your right will have the torque spec be off +/- 15% or more! I didn't believe it until a technician let me try it out on our certified testing equipment. I grew up in a mechanic shop and ALWAYS see people use a torque wrench with two hands like that, but nope! Force should only be on the handle side! Hope someone finds this info useful.
It always felt like it, thanks for the info👍
The workmanship here is absolutely masterful. I have so much respect for people who put this level of detail in their work.
agree!
Yeah but so much expense for less than 300 wheel lol
I love your guy's production. It's like a TV show without the drama and fakeness
Like how discovery used to be like 20 years ago
welcome to youtube
I did it cuz I wanted to, not because Ben told me to
nice move going for NA power
Epic build ben. Cant wait to see how it stacks up with your 2az powered mr Spyder. This build give me jdm hot version tuning vibes. You may also fit a 4.7 final drive on your differential.you can get that from a limited mazda rx8 and a 1997 kia sportage front diff.
Nice one i have eg6 turbo swap H2BA7
ultimately, itb’s might have been a mistake
always felt like a crime watching you guys content for free
🤫
Both Bens, don't listen to him... please...
@@SanProsan1993 i mean all of gears and gasoline crew duh

It’s not free, your time is money. I always watch through the ads without skipping them. They do see a portion of those profits paid out from ads.
RS was very keen especially with numbers, what a great trait for a mechanic to have, He seems to be like Midas, but instead of turning something into gold he turns it into perfection. Great job kababayang Sir Ron!
I go to his brothers shop in california, rs west. He's the only one i trust to do mechanical work on my car. Bong soliman is good people 👍
this guy has f1 precision on his work
Comparison to Midas hacks is LOL.
He looked like Cong TV btw hahaha.
Your engine builder never ceases to amaze me with his skills for such great work. Takes a lot of patients to learn and become so good at it. Kudos to him!
I know you probably meant „patience“, but referring to all the built cars and engines as „patients“ is sort of adorable..! ^^
@@AndorRadnai typo adorable? Ok. lol
Wow that builder made the right move on buying his own equipment. I like how he said, if there was any finger pointing, the finger would point to him for any engine build failure.
Mad respect!
That’s pretty rare now-a days. Taking accountability for the build and not blaming 25 other people that might have “touched” it. 👍🏼
He knows he's that good at his work 😂. Mechanic like him is what we always wanted to touch our cars.
Ron is an All Star! My favorite video from you guys so far. Now I know why my engine is still alive after all the abuse I put it through. haha
Ron is a hidden gem in MN, how he's able to put those snap rings 10:04 in place by hand without tools still amazes me.
Holy Jesus that level of detail in your work is phenomenal! Definitely not something you see very often nowadays. Much respect!
I’m so glad to see itbs going in this thing! There is something about NA that you won’t understand unless you have wrung one out on the track. Also have to be a better driver too
NA power makes me a better driver at the circuit, with no sudden push of huge torque lighting up the wheels. Just smooth predictable power, giving you confidence to push on the track.
It is an elegant way to tune an engine. Oldschool.
I was just about to say "Whole video and they didn't rev the ITBs and make engine noises" - but you guys did it right at the end
Feels like I'm watching the K20 version of Woody from Toy Story getting refurbished! Love watching the precision and craft of Ronnie!
Hahaha
I love how you took the chance to make a storyline out of all these builds. That Engine Reveal episode was so classic and so funny with "K-Cop" and Ben's reticence, but it was in fact a seed telling us how things would play out. And in the meantime we've gotten an Evo build from the other side. Masterful!
I've never once commented on any video ever about soundtrack choice during technical shots/voice over- this video yall fucking NAILED IT. Yall usually get it right, the perfect blend of inoffensive but present yet something about this vids' mix and song choice really jumped out at me. Love it.
the level of craftsmanship on the engine and the magic of the cameras merged beautifully into one incredible video.
there’s gotta be more to this man’s work. i want to see him talk through his craft and build crazy stuff. I cannot wait for a full video on this K20. Absolutely beautiful stuff guys! Cheers :)
Ron knows his Shit , top work , it’s joy to watch
the consistency is real , loving how we have video every week
Crazy how with all the engineering that went into the K from factory, it still came out open deck. So refreshing to see an N/A K build on CZcams, though!
So MCM just dropped their motor build video and now you guys!!! It’s truly Xmas coming early with two quality videos! Love it!
Ronnie is officially the man. That intro was fantastic.
I love these kinds of videos. I learned a thing or two. Cant wait to see this s2k fully built.
Really looking forward to more of this build
Proper engine building is just magic to me. So satisfying to watch and see it all come together so perfectly!
By far one of my favorite videos of yours. It’s like informative ASMR. Love it!
This was really well filmed. Showcasing masters at work and the beauty of mechanical things. I could watch these all day. Well done guys.
I was happy to realize you post music credits but sad when I didn’t see the one I had to Shazam before noticing.
Lonely without you - Jazzy Jaymes👌🏾
Love these engine build videos. Always enjoy watching a seasoned craftsman doing their work flawlessly
I watched this on my lunch break rightnow, and I have to say this was beautiful, therapeutic and very soothing watching watching Ron build and machine the motor! Need more of this!
I’m mesmerized. Love all the work y’all put into these videos. Please never stop. I love y’all’s passion in cars and quality of production videos. Top notch!!!
Easily one of my favorite build video's on your channel, I could easily watch a 1 hour version of this! Excited to see this continue!
The most satisfying 16 minutes I've seen in a long time!! Great production. Watching this immediately brought me back to my first engine rebuild, my '84 911 3.2. I spun a bearing at autoX and decided to rebuild it in my garage having never done a full rebuild before. I read a lot, asked a lot of questions and then just got on with it, learning the entire way. Keep up the killer content guys.
This is beautifully recorded and work. Not my type of build but I'm now a fan for life. Ty for the love and passion pit into this
“That guy holds the power”
Lol that was deep!
the more i watch, the more i'm loving this channel. The video quality, music, everything together just hits right. Loving the build, and I let out an audible "wow" when I first saw the ITBs. Can't wait to see the progress.
I won't be able to sleep properly until a video with this engine running comes out.
Awesome video ! Shows how much work and passion it is to truly build a proper engine.
It's incredible how much work goes into building (the way it should) a high performance engine. Thanks for sharing the experience, guys. Great stuff.
I appreciate what you do 🙏🏽 Thanks for sharing 👊🏾
There’s nothing more soothing than an engine build on a Sunday morning when it’s raining outside. Thanks for the interesting content as usual 👍
Plus I watch a lot of videos from Barum engines on here. So nice to see similar stuff 🙂
Gonna be an amazing machine! Look forward to seeing it run.
Great video, love it when we are shown detail of how things are done
Such a great video. Really enjoyed watching every moment. Thanks, guys.
It's always fascinating to watch a true master of his craft, such a good video.
No bull crap just solid content, you guys should be doing a netflix series
Mesmerising to watch! Can't wait for part 2!
Great build I love all motor builds especially with Drag Cartel cams, ITBS
As much as I jokingly make fun of Honda's being a V8 guy, I have always respected these engines. Incredible power plants. Have a buddy looking to do an extremely similar build in his 03 RSX.
What a fantastic thing to listen to when working. The technicality of it is just mad. I love geeky car stuff and this episode completely provides it!! Also it's nice to see someone doing the NA build
ITB... Man of culture
I love seeing shops that are very detailed showcased.
beautiful build. so soothing! thanks GG!
Every engine build that has been on this channel has been amazing. Extremely interesting and fun to watch.
This was great! I had a similar motor build I started back in 2018, but I went with DC 4.0 cams and a 4piston ported k20z3 head. Can't wait to hear this itb equipped 10k k series.
So well documented... It was great watching a master at work!
Great video! Love the technical details!
I've how in the background the music is just gently playing away but you can hear the suspense building up slowly and it just goes with the tempo of the video....fantastic production
I want an s2k for myself to pair with my FK8. Look forward to this build
I genuinely enjoyed watching this. It was incredibly relaxing.
Such a sick engine build. Ron is such a cool, chilled guy. Awesome stuff lads.
Cinematic beauty for a gearhead! Thank you
I LOVED this ep guys. I can't wait to hear those ITBs roaring.
The camera work on the block machining segment is just mesmerizing. Absolutely love seeing Ronnie in his element
Cant wait for the next video, love the content. The only channel I watch on a consistent basis. Also cant wait to hear this engine.
From the building process to the filming bravo 👏🏾🎉
So psyched for this! Can't wait to see more!
I love the attention to detail.
That was really cool to see how the machining work is done!
It's always nice to see an expert at work- he makes building an engine look like child's play lol
Great video.
It’s nice to see the preparation process. Don’t know much about engines but definitely interested in learning more.
Kuya is a Honda Guru 🙏🏽
Great video. Thank you.
Amazing production lads, well done.
I am super excited for the next video!! Can't wait to hear this thing!
Ronny is a genuine and passionate man. I lowkey wish had a job like his.
Great video! Can’t wait to hear it start
This is so beautiful. Thanks for these awesome vids!
Most excited for this build
beautiful video as always
Awesome video! Thank you for not splitting it up into parts, it was a quality watch
Fantastic to watch an engine assembled with such dedication to perfection, and an estimated 250+ bhp!!!
each time this channel is doing better and better, and this build is like craziness we all want to do
id love to work at a shop like this, passionate and proper, no cut corners
Enjoyed watching him build this K20. I can’t wait to see the dyno results.
Beautiful work
Great video man, keep going!
I really don’t see anyone posting k20 builds so thank you for that. Can’t wait for the dyno video 👍
When you have production quality this good, it is as good to see the workmanship match
Dang yeah this is so sick one of the best produced engine builds I've seen on youtube and it's a NA K20 😍😍😍
That was beautiful man. Beautiful 🥲
That was therapeutic to watch. His attention to detail is fantastic
that's amazing work
Wow I cannot to hear this thing screaming at 10,000 RPM!! Loving this build so far
Nice can't wait to see the numbers this puts down. We put down 308whp with a budget build. I see this up there since you have ITBS.
Can’t wait to see more of this. Love the S2000.
dope build
Can't wait to hear this thing
very satisfying video. Ronnie is top notch!
