Hey now the incas were busy taking over South America before Europe decided to nope that out of existence,and were one of the most advanced civilizations in the hard-to-inhabit americas and they only used wheels as children's toys.
Also they might have had shells millennia ago and gave up using them once they developed telekinetic classes like peridots as well as legged and hovering vehicles, which would've made such a thing pretty redundant at that point.

As for the Heaven Beetle's gem -- I was thinking she might be apophyllite, as apophyllite is typically pale green and is said to be a stone for connecting to heaven & angels u///u

All I remember was Bismuth saying Bismuths were used to make spires and temples for gem elites. Unless that was said in the newer episodes, which I haven't seen, I don't recall her saying that. What episode was it she said that in?

Ok, so making videogames in itself is amazing, but you glossed over the fact that she literally recreated and manipulated organic life, to not only be her size, but also long lasting, as the cactus is the same, and the furn has only just started growing. This possibly even means that this gem is the one that would figure out how to grow things in certain conditions, just like how Gems grow in Kindergartens!
Either that, or the plants are fake and the one that grew had just been replaced. Just my 2 cents as the owner of several plastic potted flowers.
I think that since Fluorite has a gem on her naval with a similar cut to the heaven and earth gems, she might have one

Cool theory, however, maybe she found a dollhouse? I saw an insanely detailed homemade dollhouse at a thrift store the other day, and it was astounding! Maybe none of those electronics work, maybe the plant was fake? The H.B. could have been applied to that backpack later.

desert glass is actually a real gem by itself which are so cool looking, centipeetle is very likely a jade also called nephrite, who pilot dropships

They may make a comeback, or they may not. A lot of Steven Universe's humour is kind of like that... like, remember that weird black light poster in Together Breakfast that screamed when Garnet burned it? What the heck was that? Why was it inhabiting a poster from the '70s? Why was it more powerful when it transferred to waffles? How did all the other gems already know and accept that's the way things were with this particular kind of being? I doubt we'll ever know and that sort of makes it funnier.

This literally never crossed my mind. I once hypothesized that the Heaven and Earth Beetles were the tiny gems we got a glimpse of in Adventures in Light Distortion, but wow... Massive kudos, dude. I now want to know more about these Gems.
Great theory! I never thought twice about the items in the Heaven Beetle's room, I thought it was just the animators being cute, but events in the show since then definitely suggest that it's all there for a reason! Now I'm really curious about those beetle gems!

the heaven beetle might be an "ancient" Peridot, they are tech savvy and build things. the 1st era Peridots might have been made to copy technology. and the "modern day" Peridots might be made to manipulate technology that gem world already has.

Rogue Pylon maybe what he(?) means is what if rather than humanoid as their original basic form they created a gem that have the original physical form of an animal, i mean gems are created right? why can't they design it?
I have a theory that humans made the gems in the future, and put them in the past to naturally integrate with humans to make them stronger, without forcing it like what Rose Quartz did, but the gems went a little rogue. Which is why they are all female, because you can't have a male gem leave a permanent piece of the gem light in them as gems need their gem.
As for why they did this, I think an alien threat occurred, and yeah, I am not sure. It's just a theory of mine.

Maybe the geode beetles of heaven and earth were once undescribably powerful gems that could do many things gems couldn't and one important one: learn , maybe the heaven beetle had the similar ability to sapphires looking into the future and liking the style making it's home from what it saw , and they could of also used to terraform like lapses because gem home world colony's are hollow and lapses couldn't do that good enough so the beetles of earth and heaven would get the job done , and maybe the reason they look how they look is a common answer"corruption"
Your idea kinda fits with my newfound theory of the beetles being Citrines, which is especially interesting when you consider that they've already been name-dropped in the show... if you look up the meanings of citrine, it makes sense. The Earth beetle could possibly be Kyanite, but citrine seems more likely. FAR more likely.

I love videos like this that open my eyes to something I didn't notice and make me appreciate steven universe even more than I thought I did.
When steven temporarily removed some corruption from the centipeedle, she could communicate through writing that only the crystal gems could read. Also, the corrupted gem peridot was chasing in a different episode managed to avoid all of her traps. Corruption makes them mentally distressed, but not mentally unstable to the point they stop thinking and acting like themselves, unlike most people think.
Those beetle remind me of the broaches in Egypt (I believe that's the right place) and Egypt is one of the most educated people to come before us and made so many complicated things WITHOUT the stuff we have so it makes a lot of sense in my opinion.

Pm Right, but you can still poof her and put them into an tool like lapis, corrupted or not. Take the gem shards for example, they could take over frybo and Steven's clothes. Like corrupted gems, shards are in a state of mind of who they don't remember who they used to be, but they still could be put into inanimate objects and possess them like lapis did in the mirror. So corrupted or not, she was placed into the pillow. like Steven did in Mirror gem, if he pulled out the gem in the pillow, that Gem will reform as a corrupted monster. A lot like how lapis reformed as a full gem when she was pulled out of the mirror. instead as a humanoid gem like lapis, it would reform corrupted.
You can put Gem shards into Frybo, you can put a Gem into a house, and you can put a Gem into a mirror and still keep their sentience.
It's pretty clear you can put a corrupted Gem into anything.

I think they were probably a permafusion, based on them kissing on Change Your Mind, which is why Garnet in particular wanted to keep them together.

I'm so glad you discussed this. When the episode first aired, I was really confused about the beetles and then I was distracted by Opal being the introduction to fusion. I also thought the beetles were lumped with the "Gem Artifact era", and since Rebecca Sugar said she discarded that idea and pointed the show in a new direction, I thought we were meant to forget about them. I didn't even realize they were corrupted gems!

Complementing your theory, it's interesting how Garnet (a fusion) was focused on recovering them and *putting them back together*, like if it was really necessary.

I've been waiting for a good analysis video on the heaven beetles omg! I didn't even think of this. The idea they built that place themselves (I sorta thought they were these Legendary gems and other people built it for them because they're Heavenly or whatever...) is really intriguing as to what kind of gems they are!!
This is probably my favorite SU video. I never even thought about thia so deep...and it is a nice change of pase from the normal theory videos about Pink Diamond, Pink Pearl, Patty, Lion and Lars.

Nice job spotting all the details. Watching the episode, Steven says, "..and little beetle baby book" (so specific). Unless the Heaven and Earth beetles were meant to repopulate, I think HB is just mimicking humans much in the way that other corrupted gems mimic wild animals we'd recognize on Earth. And I can't really see HB traveling too far from that remote mountain. Maybe she interacted with humans before becoming corrupted. If they were Crystal Gems, maybe they were wanting to mingle with humans like Rose if not doing so with Rose. Anyway, love your videos.
Something you brought up in a previous video that really sparked my interest was when you pointed out that Rose Quartz's powers are all related to organic life... She can grow and control plants, she can very effectively heal non-gem creatures (indicating that she's not meant to JUST be a healer of gems), I think it's pretty safe to say that her ability to create Steven was related to her organic powers (and no other gems would be able to do that) and Steven's ability to fuse with humans is also probably relevant to Rose Quartz's specific, organic powers... and then we see that Steven also has the powers of possessing other conscious organic creatures and dreamwalking... and it's so weird that Rose Quartz (and Steven, through use of her gem) has all these powers that relate to and affect the body, mind, and emotions of organic creatures... but what's even weirder is that Rose Quartzes are the quartz class belonging to Pink Diamond's court, so maybe we could conclude that Pink Diamond (and the gems in her order) is meant to be sort of an ambassador and great colonizer for when homeworld researches and takes over other worlds. We see from the murals that her only colony was earth though, which kinda adds another interesting layer. And when you consider that she was in charge of the takeover of earth, and all the gem artifacts and structures and all the gems sent to and made on earth (including these beetles, whatever their original form may have been) were originally planned and put there by her and her court, i dunno... Like maybe Pink Diamond was the youngest/newest member of the diamond authority and she was made to advance the diamonds' goals by improving their ability to find and take over planets for their colonies, while also improving gem society by taking technology and ideas from other civilizations, but it all went wrong when one of Pink Diamond's Rose Quartzes, whose type of gem made to effectively interact with other life forms and possibly even made to be able to feel empathy for them and connect with them so as to better gather their ideas and successful aspects, decided to protect earth from being destroyed and colonized. I dunno, sorry for the super long essay comment but I think this relates a lot to this. So far we've been told that homeworld gems hate and look down upon other life forms, and yet we see that rose quartzes are made with organic-related powers, and these beetles who apparently live among human artifacts, and can reason that it would benefit gem society to be able to interact with and take ideas from other creatures on planets they colonize...

I also had an idea (less probable though). What if it's Snowflake and Crazy Legs? What if they got lost and corrupted. That explains why they're not hostile, why they're treated by the other Crystal Gems with such care and why they have experience with human artefacts.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought about this. The fact that they had a proper title never really resonated until me until later, but I did keep revisiting the fact that they weren't poofed. They were bubbled respectfully and gently, as if they were a higher being. And I mean ethereal, deity high, not just diamond authority higher.
