- Jasper is by no means a "nice" gem, but is undoubtable one of the most fleshed out characters in all of Steven Universe, and deserves far greater treatment from fans, than she receives. Here is a video compiling my thoughts on one of the shows greatest characters, "The Kindergarten Quartz That Could", Jasper.

I just really want Jasper to be redeemed, at least being uncorrupted. At first, I HATED Jasper, but now digging a little deeper into her story, she has a broken heart, and NEEDS Steven and the Crystal Gems to cure it by explaining what actually happened, and she might become an allie to the Crystal Gems, but not join them fully enough to where she has a star on her clothes, because she still feels a little weary among them. That's just what I think, and yes, I also want Jasper to have a real smile, maybe when the Crystal Gems explain everything to her

Also, some people seem to forget that Jasper pretty much ASKED permission to fuse with Lapis. Lapis could've said no and took off. She is powerful enough to do so. So in the end i feel Lapis made her decision in dealing with being Malachite. Both Lapis and Jasper has had hard times. A lot of gems in the war had hard times. So to only feel bad for Lapis doesn't make sense.

AhmedH 86 Jasper wasn't stupid enough to destroy her only chance of defeating Garnet along with the rest of the CG in her condition, and without leverage. I highly doubt Lapis actually agreed to fusion because she saw no other way, she is vindictive as Hell. That's no longer debatable considering how she treated Peridot, during their reunion. imagine if Steven wasn't around at the time for that. Lapis had the ocean right next to her and from what we've seen of how fast she can manipulate it, she could have escaped through there or used it to sweep Jasper away from her. As for separation, you can see Malachite warping as if it would split while being dragged into the ocean. In other words, Jasper was trying to separate while Lapis was keeping them together.
Jasper doesnt care about lapis she USED her for malichite which was power and jasper only really cares about power not the relationship when fused the way she forcefully grabs lapis by the wrist/arm you dont grab someone you care about with force nor by the wrist

There's also evidence she was abused by an agate, she flinches at Amethysts whip, there's emphasis on that moment as there's a close up on her eyes widening in fear. Who else has a whip?

While politically speaking homeworld seemingly considers earth gems status equally to non-earth gems, socially earth gems are 2nd class citizens.

People just stereotype her because of her big and butch appearance. They think a massive soldier like Jasper can't have insecurities and suffer from abuse, even when the creators have hammered this into her arc.

All of her pain, trauma, and PTSD was caused by the very Diamond she was so damn loyal to and loved so much. It's HER fault she's like this. Her corruption is basically in vain because of this. Jfc. I feel even MORE bad for Jasper now, man.

I think younger viewers just have a harder time understanding Jasper's character in the same way Steven doesn't understand her. It takes a level of maturity to fully grasp her personality. Even my friends say that the Crewniverse doesn't really treat Jasper well enough.
I thought that myself. Sometimes I read people's opinions about this, and I often noticed that the comments supporting lapis tend to sound like a younger person is writing it.
Which makes me also think that because of the time skip in the movie and because Steven is older, if they bring Jasper back, he might be able to have a better grasp on the whole malachite situation if they bring it up again that is.
He somewhat wants to understand her in Future. I think Amethyst gave up on her already.
Jasper may be depicted as a villain, but I have always imagined her more of an anti-hero whenever it comes to a redemption arc; much like Vegeta.
Jasper is not really like vegeta because vegeta hates to obey anyone, if they're stronger than him he hates it and tries to get stronger, not obey the stronger person like jasper (except beerus cause he's trying not to get the planet destroyed by being disrespectful). His race was wiped out. Jasper had loyalty to homeworld, vegeta didn't have any loyalty to frieza, he just pretended to because he was trying to get stronger over the years to destroy him. Jasper doesn't really have an inferiority complex to anyone unlike vegeta.
Slice, I don't know if you heard, but, her redemption was confirmed by a make a wish child. May she find peace and healing in this arc.

Jasper is the character that deserves redemption more than anyone in my opinion, and there is only one way to do it right; she decides to fight crystal gems, yet, but she doesn't join them. Instead she comes in terms with what happened and instead want to seek Diamond to get answers about corruption. Because, do not forget, she believed that corruption was act of crystal gems and not Homeworld. When she will learn otherwise it will set new goal for her.
Jasper is such a relatable, incredible character and she really, really needs closure and happiness. She's so well created and the fandom frustrates me so much with Lapis v Jasper. Really excites me to watch your Lapis and Malachite videos, I have a very unpopular opinion and view of Lapis but it's all driven from the show, just like Jasper is. I let the show teach me how to view a character and ugh??

I like Jasper for being that character that doesn't need to switch over for character development. Cause not all characters need to be good. She's a character that has to play the bad guy and she does it very well.
KeWii B I personally just want a character who's got grey morality. Not good, not bad and doesn't have a side... kinda like Piccolo at the beginning of DBZ. Also, in original Dragon Ball he was a bad guy for a while, I can see a Jasper parallel there.
To be fair though, for her to ever appear again. The good guys have to act on it, like they need to heal her for her to even show up again. Who knows how she'd react to that though.

@Skinny Jasper i think story wise if we can get to the point to find a cure for corruption, i could see Jasper having this doubtful moment and realization that they did cured her. But she'd basically tell them that she's not weak and a lot stronger than them. From there i'd assume she'd again through the Gems in front of Homeworld leading to some gems speculate where she's been.

I feel so sorry for her. She's representative of every gifted child who had immense pressure placed on them to be perfect, saying anything less would be a waste of their talents and failure is simply not an option. It's no wonder many such children grow up to have severe mental and emotional issues.

I agree. it's heart breaking to see a character of such a great show to get soo much hate in the fandom and neglecting to help/heal her has been bothering me for awhile now. I don't need to see Jasper with a star or living at the barn with Peridot and Lapis. I would like to see roam the Earth taking down(not shattering) corrupted gems and getting to know the Earth.

Lapis was held prisoner for hundreds of thousands of years which is INCREDIBLY TRAUMATIZING on her part, but she took Jasper as “her prisoner” for months, and then after being fused she then treats it like SHE was held prisoner by JASPER!!! That’s basically the equivalent of pushing someone’s head underwater and then afterwards saying it was all of their doing (that made sense in my head). But like?? Lapis kinda put that trauma on herself. Yeah, she admits she was shitty to Jasper and says it to her face but Jasper was..ruined and addicted to fusion just for the sole purpose of power. She was a power junkie and with Lapis I feel like Lapis just made her addiction worse on top of wanting to avenge her diamond.
And with constantly being on earth, I think it makes it worse for her knowing that “this is the planet I was made on, to serve my diamond. And this is the planet I failed to save her on”. It’s a constant reminder of her being a failure to Pink. I feel like Rose made a huge mistake by faking her own shattering, and Lapis fucked her up even further.
The saddest part is that pink diamond wanted this, she wanted to fake her shattering, she wanted to leave her responsibilities and left Jasper to fight a meaningless war.
Also, steven is the first human gem hybrid so Jasper hating Rose as she does wouldn't believe that.
Jasper is also very relatable to anyone that has been abused by someone prettier or more popular or more feminine than them. I want jasper to be happy

I do think that people forgets that Jasper is damaged, and this is why Lapis is always view as the victim when they are both to blame in their relationship.

@@coachscabin3568Honestly I think people would still like peridot if she looked like a quartz, she didn't really do anything that bad, she wasn't around for the war, she never shattered anyone, she didn't create the cluster, she just had a tech job.
Jasper is a "broken character" executed extremely well. Lapis is the failed version, and if you ask me, she shouldn't even be taken in that direction. Its so much better if the enemy and someone who is the opposite to everything Steven stands for, to have those traits.
Jasper and Lapis are two sides of a similar situation. Jasper became angry and hardened about the abuse she endured. Lapis has run and tried to avoid other situations where she might be abused again. She's passive-aggressive and angry, but also an avoidant personality.
One isn't failed and the other perfect... they're two different developments from similar situations. An ex partner of mine and I are very similar to Jasper and Lapis, tbh. We weren't healthy together. She became so militantly "my way or you're the enemy," meanwhile I have had to deal with my fears and internal anger.

Daniel Johnston thanks. I'm in a much better place now. It took a long time, and like Lapis, I needed time to reflect on my past and how it was affecting my decisions. I was afraid to cause confrontations and still sometimes apologize for having feelings. But my current partner is very patient and has helped me work through so much that it's made me a better person. I relate a lot to Lapis and hold out hope for her.
raccoongirl1 I'm glad to hear it. It's not easy to get past truly bad situations. Often it takes even longer to forgive yourself for being a part of them. Heal well.
I relate to Lapis a lot too because I think she has crazy PTSD (which is not just for soldiers btw). I appreciate that she is taking a long time to heal. And that she's even a bit self destructive. Its real.
I don't think Lapis was meant to go that direction. She's a very powerful gem that didn't want anything to do with both sides. Jasper was written in a way she wanted to prove she's the best and stood strongly on one side never faltering to the other side. Not sure how you made that observation, they're completely opposite of one another but equally as powerful. Jasper basks in the idea of fighting for a cause and is very dutibound as well as is out to prove herself. Lapis wants none of that and be left alone.
I don't hate Lapis, but I don't love her. I'm on the fence. If they actually DO something with her character I might like her more.

I just hate when people say Jasper was in an abusive relationship with Lapis when LAPIS was the one hurting her
While thats true lapis was the abuser you need to remember that many forget that shes a citizen so being betrayed by her home twice and forced as a prisoner she's been abused many times giving her ptsd some form however some of lapis actions arent excusable and there are actions shes done that are good now with jasper she is a soilder so everything about her is made for this and she also has ptsd and she has also abused lapis as they abused eachother equally but they are both troubled and hurt gems

It was clear that they were both hurt by the experience... It wasn't a textbook human abuse relationship tbh. We are talking about gems being in an abusive fusion (where one is forcing the other to ursurp control for doing harm) - this does act as a methaphor to humans being in abusive relationships - think of it as a woman staying with her abusive partner to avoid the said partner from harming their kids...which seems misguided - but that's how abusive relationships are... Tis hard to see the clear line. Saying that oh Lapis was the abuser when she clearly fused in the futile attempt to save Steven is a bit of a stretch in the dark.
wow. once again, really in depth. I totally agree. jasper is an incredible character. and I'm really looking forward to that malachite video.
ps. also, I'm a huge lapis fan, but I'm also a jasper fan. I get how complex she is, and I get her justification. even before this video I thought she was a truly complex character with an interesting backstory, motives, struggles, and I considered her one of the greatest "villains" in any show / movie id ever seen, not because she's so "evil" or anything like that, but because she's so multilayered and misunderstood.
Finally! I thought I was the only one who liked BOTH of them rather than just one versus the other! In my opinion, I think they're both very complex characters, but in completely different ways. Jasper, however,, is definitely the most complex.

Eviolite User The Famtheyst are nothing like her. They are Quartz soldiers, that's it. Jasper is the perfect Quartz who while perfect, comes with many insecurities and self hate. You can say that the Famethyst are abused, but are you forgetting that Agates are made to terrify hence why Holly Blue Agate is intimidating and cruel. So I really don't see why The Famethyst, who really have no character development whatsoever deserve redemption over Jasper, who is a very fleshed out character

Jasper asked lapis to fuse. Although she asked it creepily, she was very weakened and outnumbered. Lapis knew that she could easily overpower her by herself, with the ocean right next to them. Lapis was very traumatized, yes, but not by jasper. Jasper didn't trap her in the mirror. Lapis tricked Jasper into fusing, which is a much worse version of what pearl did to garnet. Lapis trapped Jasper for the sake of having someone to abuse. Lapis even admitted herself that she took everything out on jasper. Jasper didn't mentally abuse lapis. She just didn't, and people need to stop saying she did. At this point in time, lapis was a terrible person. Jasper was a bad person too. Jasper and lapis have both been through a lot, but that does not justify what lapis did in any way.
I feel so bad for Jasper when everything was said and done. I mean, by the end of the show she's been betrayed, poofed, bubbled, corrupted, chained, trapped, denied happiness, abandoned and finally shattered. She was saved, thank goodness, but my gosh she did not deserve to be smacked so far into the ground.
Oh, they also replaced her in the Lapis and Peridot trio with Bismuth.

Also, to just add the Lapis bit; both Lapis and Jasper had bad points and good points about themselves. They were both multi dimensional gems. I don't agree with the whole idea of vilifying Jasper and victimizing Lapis or vice versa. They had their traumas and they both deserved to get better and find happiness. That's what it means to be a person.
Personally, I really despised what they did with Lapis in her redemption because she turned into such a jerk. Before she had her reasons and she formed Malachite with Jasper to protect Steven, but once she and Jasper unfused her bad attitude was so off putting it was awful. Then she got shuffled into the background and became really flat.
Both Jasper and Lapis are wasted characters, imo.
I think lapis was being a jerk intentionally to push others away. She just wanted to be alone. Her time fused with Jasper was bad, she grew addicted to the fight for control, and even then she was only acting in such a way to defeat "2 birds with one stone," protecting steven yes, but to also unleash all her rage on someone after being trapped for 5,000 years in a mirror of all things. And a toxic relationship drains both individuals, so no matter who you say was worse, it makes sense she was too emotionally drained to have any true functioning friendships. Plus reminder that peridot had also kept her captive as an informant, forcing her to jeopardize the safety of steven, and if it wasn't for that, she wouldn't have had to fuse with jasper in the first place. Besides the whole time it was clear she only got along with steven anyways, she was tired of the world and all the antics she had seen and dealt with. Doesn't excuse it, but it's still a realistic depiction. By the movie, and future by extension, she was kind enough to interact freely with others without being as rude. She still has a "violence is the answer" standpoint, but is closer in her healing than she was during the first series.
Jasper deserved more than she got, it kind of sucks tbh. She clearly has self-worth issues, and finds strength as the only thing defining a gems deservingness of respect. My best assumption is, she internalized the false shattering of pink diamond as being her fault, unable to defeat the crystal gems soon enough. She also took it personally when she constantly lost to fusions, and the gems she fused with didn't want to stay fused. She is not too far gone, as the show seemed to believe, and could have been redeemed had they gone a different route than outright having "diamond power" steven shatter her. They could have had something happen to cause her to respect the earth and its organic life. I say cactus steven would have been something she should have fought, not strong enough to shatter her but strong enough to fight her and withstand her hits. I mean the ending of the cactus episode could stay, with the hug and all of that, but maybe... and then we wouldn't have Jasper still being loyal to a nonexistent leader, and she wouldn't be abandoned yet again that way either. Poor jasper... she'd never admit there was anything wrong though.

I always found Jasper a unique character. It gets frustrating when the fandom labels her as a cruel character with no good to her.

To be fair as far as she knows Steven and the Crystal Gems are murderers. (or at least responsible for harboring a murderer, Rose Quartz) To us (and the other Crystal Gems) she just looks like a violent warmongering gem....but to homeworld she looks like a warrior seeking justice over the shattering of one of their diamonds, one of their beloved leaders. (I mean from Jaspers point of view, why on earth would you feel guilty about bringing justice to murderers?)
I mean even Steven believed his mother shattered Pink Diamond for a while, if he can believe that what do you think Homeworld can believe? What do you think Jasper can believe?
I still think calling Jasper "good" is really shaky (I mean in terms of my own values she hasn't done anything to inspire trust)....but I can see why she would be seen as good by Homeworld (and how she herself would feel justified for her actions) considering how they view Rose Quartz and the Crystal Gems. Also I have the benefit of knowing the Crystal Gems are the good guys. Whereas it seems like there's a lot of confusion on Homeworld over what actually happened to Pink Diamond.

Jasper is cruel, psychotic, and brutal, we all know that.
We shouldn't judge her for these traits though, we don't judge a character because they're bad or evil or anything, we use them for how well they hold up as characters, and that can apply to good or bad characters.

I've straight up heard Jasper being called a rapist. First off, fusion isn't sex. It can be comparable in certain situations, but it's just as easily a relationship, or a temporary partnership (job-like, not relationship-like). Rewatching this I just realized why Sapphire was so upset about Rose being Pink Diamond. She argues “we couldn’t of known..” 7:54 but with Rose (the one to start the war) could have known being a Diamond. And if she really wanted to save the Earth, she would have rebelled as a Diamond(that way Yellow, Blue, and/or White couldn’t get a hold of it without facing her). Think of it she built armies that stood against Homeworld for years and as a Diamond she literally made those armies. She could of done both at the same time, without traumatizing everyone about her fake death.
Actually yeah! pink was very impulsive and didn't think about her actions though, like ever, even by the time of her actual death. I mean what, did she expect things would stay peaceful forever and that no one would harm her child in the event they returned? She didn't finish her job or take responsibility for any action. She just took the L and hid out on a planet with next to no friends remaining, just to fawn over some humans, which she had lots of on the human zoo out in space. She even caused a mass genocide of rose quartzes. I mean sure, earth was pretty in her eyes, but she still could have done a better job protecting it, and without outright abandoning all of her own kind. Or atleast without lying to all those on her side.

Rose is not that powerful, I mean, she is not the leader of the crystal gems bcs she's powerful but rather bcs she is wise and she opened their eyes. Jasper will always be my big, buff cheeto puff lol. I didn't like Jasper at first but, I slowly grew to like her. She's not my favorite gem but, she does have a place in my heart.

Jasper represented a future that Steven could've lived.
She sat at the top of the gem world as one of the strongest supersoldiers. She didn't have any friends because her power WAS her friend. Everyone else quaked in their boots at her sheer prowess. She didn't tell Steven "you're friends are afraid of your power" just for shits. She was speaking from experience.
When she was defeated by Steven, the reason she isolated herself instead of joining Little Homeworld was because her only friend failed her. For the first time in ages power was not the answer. She felt she had no purpose without power.
Which is why she only joined Little Homeworld AFTER Steven shattered her and brought her back. She doesn't see friend or foe, she sees power.
Power is what guides her, power is what gives her purpose. She knows she could have people who love her, but she believes that since love does not give power it is weak.
Jasper is the prime example of bullies compensating for their own pain. Even bullies have bullies. Jasper's bully was herself
Thank you so much for making this. It was beautiful. Jasper has always been my favorite gem, and people always tell me how much of an awful character she is. They just look at the cover of her story and never choose to read her actual contents of it. The fact that she was only made to fight, that her diamond, the one she looked up to the most, was taken away from her almost immediately, and doesn't accept help when she is at the bottom because she believes she doesn't deserve it, despite being perfect is just, heartbreaking...

Something Clever She is an abuser? She forced Lapis to succumb to a toxic fusion. I understand lapis knew "she could keep Jasper hostage in the fusion" but it was only to save her friends. She knew she would have to do it, and put herself into a toxic relationship to hold them down. When she got out, she was fucked up mentally because of it. The whole episode where Jasper comes to "apologize" on the boat is actually the crew showing signs of abuse and gaslighting. She comes to lapis, promises that she will "be different" and that she wanted to fuse again. This is the real life equivalent to someone who was emotionally abusive to someone and then apologizing and saying that they were sorry. With this, Jasper guilt trips Lapis into thinking that she should, but instead, she refuses and says that she doesn't want to because Jasper and her were toxic and she couldn't bring herself to do it. After that, Jasper gets upset because she was denied and tries to ATTACK STEVEN, and that's why she is thrown/punched off the boat. Jasper abused Lapis and doesn't deserve any love what so ever. Many people will say that she is a "fluffy cheese ball" or whatever and that her past explains why she was abusive but THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT OKAY. You can sympathize with her and say "yeah your past must of sucked" but her past doesn't give her a ticket to do whatever she wants. If you wanna go by that logic, then Lapis should be able to do whatever she wants too, but no. Explanation doesn't equate to an excuse and it doesn't make abusive behaviors okay.
A Person With a Name Yeah but that doesn't change the fact that she's a lowly off-color from Earth. Jasper's prized by Yellow Diamond and that's her only saving grace on Homeworld. It's not that Jasper doesn't deserve praise, but Homeworld's prejudices that are holding her back.

Ultimately, love Jasper, hate her, love Lapis, hate her, love any homeworld gem, now that everything is said and done, the most tragic thing is the realization the showrunners never really cared about these characters. The entire time they wanted just to focus on the slice of life humans interacting with gems aspect, but they never really wanted to explore the homeworld stuff, cause whenever we got long homeworld arcs they always felt so rushed so we could get back to earth and visit the Big Donut.

After seeing the movie and your thoughts on the relationship between Jarper and "Rose" it just hit me "It´s unfair that the gem responsible for her suffering is able to move on", I can´t wait to see her interacting with spinel... if that ever happens.

Big Buff Cheetopuff is honestly one of my favourite characters and i feel like shes entirely underrated and demonized by most of the fandom. she was perfectly honest about her intentions towards the crystal gems and acted hostile for a justified reason. what Lapis did to her wasn't ok. fusion with a different gem type is meant to be an amazing thing, soulful and beautiful and Lapis ruined that for her, tainting it with deception. Jasper had already taken heavy damage and was no match for the crystal gems in that state, they could of taken her easy. Lapis didn't need to fuse with Jasper to subdude her, they were standing on a beach after all. Besides that after dragging jasper into the depths, Lapis's domain, and keeping her chained there at the bottom of the ocean she had the gall to claim that she was the one trapped! it would have been easier to pop and bubble jasper then and there but Lapis had to get a few kicks in before she let Jasper get away. Here's hoping for a Jasper redemption arc.

In fact, almost ever Steven Universe character shows signs of at least one mental disorder. Peridot was an awful person and Lapis still acts like a complete jackass, so?????

I wish you could see me clapping right now lol I personally LOVE this video, because I believe literally EVERY SINGLE thing you've said, she truly IS the most abused character in the show, but in and out-universe, all the characters (sans the Ruby Squad) despise her and then some fans STILL despise her just because she wasn't a saintly character, and yet forgive the 'cuter' looking characters like Lapis and Peridot. And yet Jasper has MUCH more depth to her than those two in my opinion... I mean her whole life's been tragedy, and like you said, what else did she have to see? What else did she have to endure watching her other sisters in the Beta kindergarten getting shattered or poofed? I honestly shudder at the thought since those were war times. And then ever since she returned to Earth she's been made to suffer ALL over again, and no one even seems to care, none of the Crystal Gems (sans Amethyst to an extent) seem to care that her purpose was always just another weapon for a War they started (spearheaded by Rose Quartz). It's... honestly really sad... she's my favorite character and yet she's just always suffering and has been shelved for now and quite frankly... hasn't seemed to have ANY happy moment, unlike the other characters who have been seen genuinely happy, whereas Jasper just had... a harsh life... She did bad things, but SO did the Crystal Gems, SO did Lapis, SO did Peridot, and SO did Rose Quartz... I just... gosh I hope she does indeed the closure she deserves, and indeed in a GOOD way, a healthy way like you said, I do NOT want her to just not get everything she's been through resolved or anything, cuz after everything she's had to go through, she deserves it. I haven't seen any well-rounded characters like her before, and I admit I've always had a soft spot for her, so I honestly believe that there needs to be more characters like her, because she IS a genuinely good, well-written and extremely interesting villain. man, i was a little hesitant to watch this when you first uploaded it, just like i was hesitant to watch the lapis analysis video... but like with your lapis vid, i'm glad i did watch it. before watching your lapis vid i didn't understand why people disliked lapis as a gem, like i understood the fandom's issues with her shitty writing and development but i didnt understand why people disliked her as a CHARACTER... and with jasper im kind of opposite, like i think her writing and development have been really good but i just really disliked her as a character and didnt see any redeeming qualities in her. but the way you explained all of this really helped me think of her in a way i never had before. now i kinda hope she does get a redemption arc because i think it would be cool to see her processing her situation and maybe coming to terms with her existence and the things that have changed since the war. the only thing im scared of is that theyll just brush off her past violence and act like she's ~never done anything wrong~ rather than redeeming her in a realistic way... which is exactly what they did to lapis (and even peridot kinda)... and it's just sad how they took such a cool, troubled character like lapis was in the very beginning and reduced lapis into such a weak and boring character and basically just ignored everything she was introduced to be, so i don't want that to happen with jasper and ruin all the good character development that's gone into her.

Sympathizing for a Character like Jasper doesn't require trying to justify all the bad things she's done, it's about understanding where she's coming from, like many Homeworld Jems, Jasper is fighting for a totally valid cause, and here she gets tortured and abused because she's not "one of us" You gotta admire her passion to fight back and serve those she's loyal to, the ending she got wasn't the kind of ending someone like her deserved.

She kind of scared everyone I guess. Caused steven a lot of trauma. And her actions are due to her own trauma too. Poor jasper was constantly being abandoned and only cared about for her strength for so long. That's what caused her to be that way, that and the loss of the war.

Personally, I hope Jasper doesn't become a crystal gem, but not for the reasons you think. There's to much bad "blood" between her and the Crystal Gems for that.
Instead, I hope that Steven does convince Jasper to turn against homeworld and the Diamonds at some point after being cured, but that as the series ends, Jasper goes down her own path. Rather than fight for the Diamonds or for the Gems, she walks her own path and through that, finds peace for herself. A place of emotional and spiritual reflection that grants her happiness without the need for war. That would be a nice place to have her story end as it gives Jasper something she needs.
A purpose that doesn't involve fighting.

This was a beautifully thought out and executed video. I can't fathom how emotional and passionate and poetic this was and this has put me in a whole new perspective with Jasper. This makes me look deeper in her as a gem rather then the villan that she seemed to be. I really love Jasper. I feel like her and Bismuth should really meet. Can we just consider the amazing fight scene that would come out of that? Or their views on war and Rose, and how, to them, fighting is everything? They could easily relate to each other, and if Jasper is 'Redeemed', she could easily play a big role in that. Or what a fusion between the two of them would be? The fusion would be more powerful than anything we've anything we've ever seen, something more than Sugilite or Malachite or Alexandrite. What would that gemstone even be?

The thing I get the most shit for in this fandom is my sympathy for Jasper and subsequent negative opinion of Lapis Lazuli. I don’t want Jasper to become friends with the Crystal Gems or anything, I just want her to feel some sort of resolution. She deserves to know the truth, and she deserves sympathy as something other than a villain.
