- Well, this was going to be a normal Vlog.... Until my planner told me on my first ever trip to London (Literally my first time in my life) i was taking an Extended load! Wowzer!!

I have followed you from the start and I'm still here. I want to get into the trucking industry but at the moment I have 3 years till I get my long leave which will 25 years in total, thats when I plan to do my hgv training in my 6 months off. I can't bloody wait keep up with the vlogs👍😎

You can only book your C1 after you get your C2, so unless your not UK based Idk how you managed.

Got my CPC module 4 practice and test next Wednesday. Doing it 4 weeks before starting my driving lessons. Got tacho card already as advised by you before. CV ready everything just can’t wait to be on the road !

Alreet pal, I’m just starting the weary process of getting my class2. Ive been driving a car nearly 30yrs so never had theory or haz perception shit. What do you recommend for revision. The standard DVSA books or app? Cheers pal
Go for the app, it’s more convenient to use and you’ll have it on you for a Quick 10 questions on the bog.
I used a CD Rom off Amazon. Plus the HGV theory book.
Only just realised this video was out!! Seen all the others but must have missed it somehow. Pretty sure when you was parked on the A1 I drove past you on my way to London. Remember seeing a WS with the load you had and could have swore I saw the camera. I've been driving hgvs for 7 years and love your vids. The enthusiasm you have is great in an industry where a lot of drivers moan like feck for no reason. It's a great job. Yes you have to take the rough with the smooth but generally it's great. I night trunk at the min due to family commitments but as soon as it's possible I will be bqck on the road. Can't wait. Take care mate

Dalton Industrial Estate Thirsk - know it well used to load steel drilling pipes for Italy from there and just finished driving milk tankers from Dalton village.
Excellent chestcam footage Gareth and are going to take the scania to truckfest Malvern and keep up the good work you are doing.

I was planning on truckfest this weekend but term of events have stopped me.i also wanted to mention the last year I have been paying money every month to do my HGV class 1.but sadly the company went bust and I’ve lost all the dough I’ve been paying.this isn’t a cry for help.the company you passed with do they do a crash course or is it just pay book and turn up?

I used Red Rose, you pay the lump sum and they book everything for you.

My old work canteen sounds exactly like that lol. And that was before this covid stuff, used to go in n everyone had a table to themselves and most wouldnt even give ye eye contact if ye dared sit at their table. I've actually spoken to you before in the early days but more about your love of planes and spotting at Manchester Airport, got to be honest I've not watched much since but only because I've lost my interest in hgv driving but only because its not new anymore its just a job..however I'm only a class 2 driver, I passed in 2017 and I've done general haulage, tipper work and now I'm driving bin wagons which I like by the way, hour's are brilliant but... I'm thinking of doing my class 1 lately, but after watching this video it's really Really making me want to commit to it... so if I ever see you at Manchester Airport don't think I'm a weirdo if I come and speak to you I'm just after some advice..... on another note did you watch the VA 747 Barbarella leave Manchester for the last time? nice one fella - just bit info for you if you need stay at hopwood rather than either park in services or just outside if you take turning for cadburys world then at island 1st left towards alvechurch there is a decent layby it on right hand side it quiet main road after 7pm need be careful at hopwood as it got local reputation for lot thefts police raided it quite lot in past also some dodgy stuff goes down far end car park sometimes involving some our east europen freinds i used live litrally 5 min from hopwood always something used go on - loving the vlogs esp when just yabbering to self

Just a wee idea lad don’t know what like you are for cameras but if you have 2 maybe put one on the windscreen facing you on small screen and 1 on the passenger seat on the head rest facing the road on big screen and make it look like we are on the road with you no idea if that made sense but we will just roll with it 🤣. Just a wee idea.

Deady 2012 I think you can get a head restraint mount lad for cameras for the seat that should work. Try Amazon for them and let me know how you get on.

Been following you for some weeks, subscribed.. You look like you have fun making the vids, and I have been interested in becoming a driver for a while.. Since lockdown and being out of work I have took the opportunity to take my class 2.. In the last month I have done my medical, my theory, hazard, mod 2, mod 4, and had 16 hours practical driving.. I'm now relaxing for the bank holiday,.. Then Tuesday 4 hour lesson. Wednesday 1 hour lesson then TEST!.. I can't wait. Any advice on how to get a job lol??. I fancy tipper work. But it seem experience an issue.. Keep up the vids though. Love it..

Tipper work will usually take you on with no experience because staff turn over at Tipper places is ridiculously high!

Deady. When you are a newbie and you are working for multiple agencies. How do you keep an eye on your tacho hours, rest periods ect?
Basically, you can work 6 days one week 5 the next. That's the easiest way to keep track of your rest periods. As for your daily rests, you can have 3 9 hours off per week, the other 2 or 3 days have to be 11 hours.
If you have used your 9s, tell the company you are working for that you can only do a 13 so don't give you too much to do as you won't be able to complete it.
