Oh my gosh THANK YOU for making this video!! My beloved 2008 MacBook finally bit the dust after 12+ years - and worked well right up until it died! - and I wanted to take out the logic board before recycling it. I asked a friend who works in tech, but after I found your video was able to do most of it myself! I used a tiny glasses repair screwdriver from the dollar store and was able to remove the back, the fans and disconnect all the little ribbony tabs and wiry things and now my friend now just needs to remove the actual board. We saved him so much time! I so appreciate your expertise thanks again! 🙏🏼

First of all thank you, because without knowing it you saved my laptop. I was changing the thermal paste and when I reassembled it, the laptop died. There is a phrase you said in the video that was my salvation and it was with the keyboard connector. I thought that it was properly fitted, but it wasn't. You emphasized it very well in the video.
I consulted the other one you referred to and everything worked fine again.
So thank you for your videos, the way you make them, how professional they look and the enormous amount of information you provide for all of us. Thank you.

I re-pasted my cpus and gpu and made a couple mistakes. 1) I accidentally broke off the heatsink temp sensor. I used a small strip of electrical tape to try and put it back into position. I know there are apps to control the fans speed, I've used them before. I know it's hardly ideal, but I'm using this as a third laptop so I didn't sweat it too much. 2) the eyelashes for the Sleep Light indicator and Express Card broke off under very little pressure, and I mean very little. Again, I wasn't worried about the Express Card because I personally have never used that thing. I was able to get the bands for the two into their position, just with no eyelashes on either. The problem now, is that when I plug into charge, the charging indicator light on the charger is not working nor do I believe it's charging, because the laptop will not power on. It was working prior to the breakdown, and does make a slight hum, but does not get warm after being plugged into the laptop for any period of time. The battery was dead before working on the machine, but is fairly new and was working and in good shape. I went over everything countless times to make sure I didn't forget anything or damage anything else. I would think that even with my screw-ups the laptop should still charge and power on. I've done this many time on PCs and Windows laptops with no problems.
Anyway, I hope you're still listening and have a suggestion for me. I really don't want to scrap this thing, I still have some use for it. Thanks for the videos btw.

There is no reason for it not to work other then some connection being missed or contact with metal shorting something on the logicboard. Best advice and I know you might not like it, is to completely take everything apart again and slowly carefully reassemble, not missing any of the underneath connection steps.

Great video lessons! I've replaced the logic board on my late 2008 Macbook Pro as shown in the video. Once I finished the installation; I performed the SMC & NVRAM reset, but nothing happened. The battery light turns green, but still, it won't turn on? Since also I replaced the old battery with a new one; I figure I let it charge overnight if that might be the issue. I repeated the SMC & NVRAM this morning, but nothing. Is there anything else I need to do?

Check the keyboard ribbon connection because the power button is part of the keyboard.

what cpu did you upgrade this to? how do I know which logic boards are compatible with this macbook?

They go by year and model/size. So for a 13" 2009 macbook pro there are multiple logicboards that will fit. The best thing to do is get acquainted with www.everymac.com look up your Macbook year and Size and see the complete details and model number then type that model number into an ebay search bar and usually that will be an exact match. Good luck.

Really appreciate the slow explanation of each step and the detail that is used in connecting electronic cables. Would like to follow more of your tutoring.
