This interpretation is like fireworks and the finale is grandiose. Lara is just beautiful and phenomenal. She celebrated her 54th birthday the day before yesterday and she is simply superb!

    Welcome to Lara’s rabbit hole!
Now you are hooked and there is no escape but it is beautiful place to be and you will find me it here 😂
She has written 200+ masterpieces in 4 languages (including english such as this one) and you have so many gems to discover.
Her songs were covered by the greatests from the past and current generation but her originals remain the absolute reference.
Even today her songs are recurrently performed in singer contests from around the world.
This one for instance was performed last week in The Voice Italy Kids (italian version she also wrote) and The Voice Norway (this english version).
Just to say that you just discovered an hidden treasure (in english speaking countries but she is a legend in many other countries and continents).
David Foster, her fellow canadian friend, said from her: "it’s a voice from another planet or something: she is at the top of the heap of the world great voices"

Hi... My first reaction was identical to yours... especially at the moment when she catches that "double-level" note and takes us to this overpowering ending... For me, we will be close to the "stratospheric".

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance).
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , …
They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love.

Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version:

🇨🇦 Always read the comments by Eric Sicard and your knowledge of Lara will grow & grow !
Recommendations are as follows, in Italian, "Caruso" for sure, in Spanish, "Quedate" !
To show you where she began, "I will Love again" and to show you here talents, "Tequiem, pour un fou" as a duet with Johnny Hallyday ! But then for Raw Emotion, "Broken Vow" or "You're not from here" !
(bring a box of tissues) 🇨🇦

No singer Lives a song as completely as Lara and very few singers are as good live as they are in the studio Lara is actually better live than on tape and she has a unique ability to make each and every audience member feel as though she is singing only for them - The Ultimate Artist!

Adagio is an Italian musical term meaning slow, easy, relaxed (66-76 metronome ticks/minute). The melody of this piece is based on a famous classic adagio afaik.

Thank you for reacting to one of the greatist artists out there. Lara is a world class performer and i'm not surprised that she is Dimash's idol. The way she gets into character, tells the story and conveys emotion is just phenomenal. Speaks 4 languages ( French, English, Italian and Spanish) also convertional in russian and portugese , sings in 12 , wrote 90% of the songs on her 16 albums ( 3 in english) more than 30 millions albums sold and at age 54 still the # 1 voice and more gorgeous than ever . She just started a new world tour in 2024 and i have my tickets for the 2 shows in Montréal in june 2024...

Once again the very beautiful, very strong but very velvety voice in her whole 4.2 octave range of Lara Fabian.
The ""Belgian powerhouse"" whit the Belgian and Canadian nationality.
Endless breath control, seamless connection of words and sentences, emotional and expressive performances.
Lara Fabian the idol of Dimash since he was young. You can see the similarities in expressive performances of Dimash, the look in the camera and so on...
Clear singing of words in in the many languages she sings.
Lara wrote the lyrics on this old classic music composition "Adagio"" in English and in Italian.
I prefer the Italian version if Adagio.
A voice you can listen to the whole day

Adagio is not a person, it's a tempo in music.

In this case she makes it a name to cry out to, where Adagio becomes the god of inspiration, and she is pleading with "him" to never abandon her. She'll always be waiting at "the piano that plays". It expresses just how much being a songwriter means to her. She calls herself "a songwriter with a voice", and talks about the mystery of songwriting as "something that passes through you", understanding the delicate connection to wherever it comes from.
