This song shows just how musically brilliant she is. It's built on a classical piece called Adagio in G minor. She worked with others on the music, and the lyrics are all hers. It's also brilliant for it's double meaning. On the surface it sounds like a desperate love to a person, but if you listen to the lyrics more closely, you hear her pleading with the god of inspiration, as Adagio, to never abandon or give up on her. When you understand just how important being a songwriter is to her (she calls herself a "songwriter with a voice") you hear where the passion is coming from. This, for me, is why no cover comes close to the original. Not because other singers aren't incredible, but because it comes from her very soul. On another note, as you get more familiar with both Lara and Dimash, you will see, at certain times, her coming through him as he performs certain songs. It's fascinating to watch and shows just how much of an influence she had on him. The two greatest voices in history as far as I'm concerned, actually merging. It's extraordinary to witness.

In 2017 , when I first heard Dimash singing this song I did some research and found Lara, who wrote the lyrics for Adagio, if I can remember correctly. Been her fan ever since.💖💖💖
The very beautiful, very strong but always velvety voice of Lara Fabian in her 4.2 octaves range.
Endless breath control, seamless connection of words and sentences, effortless singing.
Always simple clothing style when performing, very little make up, no or very little jewelry, always natural fingernails....... The only thing the audience gets from Lara is the sublime 4.2 octave voice and the emotional and expressive performances.
I discovered Lara in the late 90's when she was on a charity public broadcasting event. I was floored. Stunning pure voice.😃🤩

You must also listen to Dan Vasc singing Gethsemane from Jesus Christ superstar. He is actually a metal singer but also classically trained like Dimash and Lara. But nothing tops an emotional performance like this one.

Lara Fabian is good but Dimash is so much more dynamic and powerful. Also people bring up Vitis singing was I feel like his version is more strained and forced. It's one thing to hit the high notes but Dimash is always on point and effortlessly sung.❤
In no way shape or form does Dimash supersede Lara Fabian. Dimash has yet to master his pronunciation of any Western language, that Oriental accent is still ever present. Go find a Dimash video, watch, and listen it to your heart’s desire.

Don't know if it's just me or its reactors scared of offending the dimash fans, but to me his version, like most things I've heard from him, is just a guy with a high pitched voice that screams unintelligible lyrics and everyone stands up and claps.
He even seems to be trying to copy lara's mannerisms.I

Well, actually Lara herself totally disagrees with you. She was blown away by Dimash's performance, called to congratulate him and said she would like to sing with him (which she later did) and even wrote the lyrics for one of his songs. When the greatest opera singer of our generation, Maestro Placido Domingo, heard Dimash's voice he was so impressed that he invited Dimash to be a judge on a classical talent show and asked to perform a classical duet with him, which they did, extraordinary beautifully. He has been highly complimented by many of the best vocal specialists and known people in the music industry, who consider him one of the greatest, if not the greatest, singer in the world, such as David Foster, Bocelli, Afanasieff, the head of the Chinese singers association and many others. Igor Krutoy, who also worked with Lara, said that he is the most unique artist he ever worked with. So whatever your personal opinion is, you shouldn't speak for others and make assumptions, it's nothing objective and assuming that reactors are praising Dimash because they are afraid of his fans is as ridiculous as saying that they praise Lara for the same reason. There is a reason Dimash, who is an independent artist with no label or promotional company behind him, from a remote country, has fun clubs in 130 (or even more) countries in the world. So please don't make people laugh with your ridiculous claims.
