I don’t think Rodgers gets the credit he deserves. Klopp is amazing so him replacing Rodgers I think made people think Rodgers wasn’t good. But not many mangers are better than Klopp. I’ve always really enjoyed watching Rodgers tactics and he’s had success with multiple clubs. As far as innovators I say it’s Guardiola, Klopp and the Rodgers ... they’ve radically changed how the game is played

Vardy easing back on the press this season has seen him much fresher in attack, giving him an extra half stride of pace and space. His scoring rate reflects that. You are also so much more accurate with the ball when not exhausted. Messi famously has the lowest run rate of any attacker in the Champions League. It's also interesting how they have created another Kante with Ndidi.

These "analysts" waxed lyrical about Ranieri's Leicester as well. They were down in the bottom table fighting relegation the next season. And that was a PL winning team.
If these people think Klopp and Pep are all about a formation, then they need to learn what a philosophy actually is.
Rodgers' Liverpool team was talked about in the same manner during the 13/14 season. Then they lost one player and crashed and burned out of Europe again the next season. What a great philosophy! This is the same manager who wanted Benteke over Firmino and nearly stunted Firmino's career by playing him as a right-back. This is the guy who didn't know where to play Nuri Sahin, causing him to be shipped back to Dortmund where he started performing again. This is the same manager who threw his coaching team under the bus in front of the Liverpool board at the end of 14/15 season, and then failed harder the next season. The same guy who was one of the many reasons Sterling wanted to leave Liverpool.
Yeah he's had a good season so far. But lets wait a few seasons before lumping him in with the likes of Klopp and Pep.

This team has been crying out for proper coaching since 2016 and needs to be in touch with modern principles of positional play that are common with Ajax, bayern, barca(under pep Enrique) and coaches like klopp, tuchel, poch , etc.
