  • Ajax have recently reached the Semi-Finals of the champions league for the first time in decades. But you may wonder how they did it, and why this year.
This video looks at Erik Ten Hag's tactics and how the club has evolved since the days of Johan Cryuff. We look at the Academy, Transfers and more including how they got players like de Jong, de Ligt, Tadic, Dolberg. We analyze how they play and why they're so good, we highlight how they score theire goals.

Great informative video! The only thing that is incorrect is that Bosz did not leave because of any financial reasons or the challenge in Germany. He had some long going on conflict with staff members (including Bergkamp) and Ajax's management refused to solve this problem (listening to Bosz's demands). Because of that he did not want to continue in Ajax and left

Patrick L'amaa to say Bosz did not leave because of “any” financial reasons and putting it all on the alleged internal conflicts is not fair.
There was tension between team Bergkamp and team Bosz for sure, but the departure of Bergkamp in 2018 showed that his view was not the overall view held within the club.
And for any member of Ajax to take up a spot a Borussia Dortmund is a considerable step up; both competitive as financial. Bosz took that oppertunity and never looked back. And when he did, it was to stir up shit.

Im a former Ajax watcher and writer for the biggest football website in Holland and I wanted to give some props for this video. Clearly it was researched well and put together perfectly.
Especially the break from Cruyffs plan in regards to transferbudget... though raising the wage ceiling was pivotal in keeping players like Ziyech and De Ligt on for this season.
One remark is leaving out the horrific impact the collapse of Abdelhak Nouri had during the start of Marcel Keizers reign as coach. For a young team to lose one of their most prolific hot prospects and with players like Van de Beek, de Ligt and Kluivert being teammates of Nouri from the age of 10; it took a while to find their way without him. Until this day it remains a painful subject, as shown by Ziyechs reaction to a question about him before Ajax-Juve. Perhaps he is worth a tribute video of his own, considering Ajax might win their 34th eredivisie title; with 34 being the number Nouri had during his debut year at Ajax1.
But other than that: brilliant video bro!

    Great analysis. Top notch work.
The day that Johan Cruijff stepped up and created "the velvet revolution" to improve our club was the best thing that happened.
We owe so much to him.
He gave us our face back, reinforced our DNA of educating and shaping the future stars.
And then he passed away, sadly not being able to see his work come to fruition.
That day he passed away was a heart breaking day for us Ajax fans, and for the Dutch as a whole.
I cried in disbelief, and I'm not the type to cry over famous people dying.
I'm sure he's watching his Ajax on that big screen Un heaven with God.

Ajax didnt receive a penny for Edgar Davids (Milan), Micheal Reiziger (Milan), Patrick Kluivert (only 2 milion, Milan), Edwin van der Sar (Juventus), Winston Bogarde (Milan). That was a serious financial set back and preparation for a total new football universe after the Bosman rule.

Those big clubs needed to be very conservative with their 3 spots. Which left a lot of good players with their original teams in their home countries and talent can develop. For a club like Ajax its nearly impossible to keep the core of their team together for 5 years. Imagine this Ajax team staying together for 2 more years.

@@FootballMadeSimple In one sense it limits the success of Ajax, but if Barcelona have too much good youth (Which is unlikely) they could give their youth to Ajax, but that makes La Masia look bad it gives the impression that it's not good sufficient in the development of future stars, it will also give the impression that Barcelona don't provide first team opportunities for it's La Masia graduates, which will push many talented youth away and go to academies like Ajax's instead, which means Barcelona will have to spend even more in the transfer market if they were to get any players, like Real Madrid, it could really break the whole motto of "Mes que en club" Like we've seen in recent years.
Since Barcelona is suppose to be a "Family" what type of "Family" would ignore, disregard and not put faith in youth?
As much as it benefit's Barcelona on the face of things, it breaks their philosophy of football, and actually could put them in heavy debt via spending too much in the market, which we all know is never a good thing.

Many similarities in their rise and fall with United... now with changes upstairs, a lot of investment in youth and now with ten Hag, there'll be a definite return to glory in the next few years...

Johan Cruijff already tried to "save" Ajax in 2008 together with Van Basten, but then had a fight with Van Basten.
In 2010 it almost went wrong again with Cruijff but that's a long story.

You did forget to mention Clarence Seedorf winning Champions league 4 times with 3 different clubs after leaving the academy. As did van Basten and Rijkaard with AC Milan. On top Cruijff bringing first ever Champions league cup to Barcelona, Rijkaard winning Champion league for Barcelona also as Ajax philosponsphy coaches. But thumbs up

To must credit for bergkamp. Great amasing footballer, but as assistent trainer always in conflict. Whit jonk, f de boer, and peter bosz. Wim Jonk is person how meets mention. Bosz was not bought out. He did want to go. And not extent contract. Because of conflict whit Bergkamp.

On Cruyff's 3-4-3...it is better to say, 3-1-2-1-3. The midfield is not flat but a diamond...Cruyff would never play with a flatback midfield for one pass could 4players. And TIPS is no longer applicable for this was something van Gaal employed in the 90's with Ajax. This was dropped as soon as Cruyff came back and began the new Ajax 'revolution'. He accused van Gaal of ruining the Ajax youth system ,that's why TIPS is no longer in use. Ten Hag basically uses the 4-3-3 with #6 in front of defenders. It just so happens that Frankie de Jong played between the 2 centerbacks 'at times' but basically Ten Hag stayed with the old system and depended on who he had on the field and who Ajax played against

  • @johnman4120
    @johnman4120 Před 5 lety +2

Frankie De Jong is very versatile. I think is best position would be centre Midfield were he can defend and attack. An incredible Midfield would be:
    De Jong, Kante, De Bruyne.
Kante: Act as the defensive hoover.
De Bruyne: As the Attacking playmaker.
De Jong: Bossing Midfield and dictating play.
Would be incredible to watch, but sadly probably will never happen.
Arthur, Busquets, De Jong is still pretty good though.

You can make a video about dutch defending. That's the most important in this system. It all start in the back. That also the reason why dutch mamagers fail outside there country. Most footbal teams dont understand that..
