  • Hi Guys,
Well I was actually doing the cobble stones on the First Encounter diorama when I accidently went down a sculpture rabbit hole and ended up with what I think is a reasonably serviceable 1/35 scale Fallschirmjager figure.
This video has a lack of actual video, mostly still pictures as I really was not planning to do a video on this at all, but by the end thought it might be worth sharing. As always, thanks for watching, looking forward to your comments.
    Take care all, cheers Glen

Thanks Stuart, i have so many ideas now it is hard to settle on what to do next, but i think i have narrowed it down to a iconic WW2 movie scene, which i will start after i finish the First Encounter diorama and the Zulu one, so at my current pace sometime in 2024 😝😝😝

Thanks Greg, making a bit of progress, but I need to practice a lot more, I think a scene with Motty lying on a bear skin rug in front of a raging fire with his manhood hidden by a 15mm figure to maintain modesty might be a great project 😝😝😝

EXCELLENT, Glen. Your 3D printing experiments are paying off. Disappointed, however, with the melting Nazis from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" that you did not confess to the conflagration in SWMBO's kitchen oven! Your fallschirmjager looks pissed to be wounded AND captured. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Lazza, i may have forgotten to include the part about stinking out the kitchen with the billowing black smoke 😇 I might do a reinactment in the next video. Im glad you picked up on the vibe of the figure, it is amazing what the angle of the head can do, if i put it on looking directly back at you he looks defiant, but when i turned it slightly downward he looks dejected, small detail but glad someone noticed 👍👍👍

Thanks Frank, thats very kind of you to say but i have a way to go yet, but i do love the process and want to get better. Have a crack at it mate, the polymer clay is very forgiving so you have plenty of time to adjust and refine as you go 👍👍👍

That's pretty damn good - and no doubt it'll get better as you go on. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future. I'm with you when it comes to Hornet Heads - they improve a figure immensely. I did a lot of cobble laying for a diorama recently, and by the time I was half way through I was coming up with all sorts of other things I needed to do! Anything but cobbles! 😵 Looking forward to seeing it. Cheers. 👍

THanks Andrew, much appreciated mate, still some way to go but happy with the progress so far. Yes Hornet heads are the best, so expressive, i dream of being able to sculpt that wll one day. I have about 4 hours of cobbling ahead of me today, can't say i am looking forward to gettting started 😂😂😂
