    Love that V4 sound. And no, your Honda Accord does not have a V4 engine.

    Me watching the 2022 spa quali recognizing this beast is meanwhile almost a gp2 car... Crazy absolut crazy but this car is actually almost 10 sec slower than a actual F1 car

    The Toyota #9 was faster but it didn't get pole because of average time of team Porsche being faster than the average time of team Toyota.
    Understandable as the #7 and #8 Toyota ran with high dowforce aero package in a low downforce setup track. While both Porsche #1, Porsche #2 and Toyota #9 ran with low downforce aero package.
    That experimentale low downforce aero used by the #9 car driven by vetetan driver like Stephane Sarrazin for futher development will then be used at Le Mans and beat the absolute track record trough Kobayashi's hands.

    But why don't they stand on the brake right after they lifted the throttle in braking zones?

    • @josecalvo9730
      @josecalvo9730 Před 3 lety +1

      The batteries recover in two different ways, first with the energy of breaking and the second one with the exhaust gases then you need to lift off a second to increment the battery and then braking

      @@josecalvo9730 thats not the reason. They coast because theres a fuel flow limit that they have to adhere to. Coasting helps them stay within this limit, but they just ration the fuel out of a corner like the last chicane or La Source

    is that faster than the F1 pole?

      ah - the overpowered prototype, guessing they bought in some form of regulation/rules after that?
      Thanks for the reply and nice vids. Nice change from constant F1

    it is sad that it has to coast. That would be even faster without coasting.

    • @FeintMotion
      @FeintMotion Před 4 lety

      No it wouldn't lol
      Coasting to regen hybrid is necessary, otherwise the car would run out of hybrid boost energy regularly and would lose way more time than could be gained by driving it hard into corners.

    • @karasakizbaris
      @karasakizbaris Před 4 lety +6

      @@FeintMotion the reason they have to coast is their fuel flow restriction rule. It isnt about hybrid regen for one lap. Record braking 919 has no restrictions and it can run whole Nordschleife without needing to coast. NS is considerably large track than this.

      @@karasakizbaris Nah it's to regen m8. Fuel flow is metred electronically yE dig

    • @djmohab2
      @djmohab2 Před 3 lety +1

      @@FeintMotion no it's not, you stupid fuck. It's to keep them from violating the fuel flow rule. Neel Jani even said that on his Le Mans record lap (at the time) that they could have the car fully charged from the pits so they could use maximum energy from the battery on their flier.

    • @arkeusalexander9054
      @arkeusalexander9054 Před 2 lety +3

      @@FeintMotion No it is because of fuel. The driver can just manuelly turn off the hybrid system (going back into "charging" preset) after reaching 4th or 5th gear or while entering corners and then activating it again while existing corners ("hotlap", "high agressive", "high preserve", "overtake" or "top speed" preset depending on the car).
      But the only way to preserve fuel efficiently without losing too much time is to coast.
