- Something fun, since I haven't done fun in a while. As many of you might be aware, the Porsche 919 and the 919 EVO are two of my favourite cars to ever exist. And when Porsche did its demolition tour, it visited Goodwood but didn't do a competitive lap time.
But what if it did? How fast would it go and how would it compare to its older brother?

Could the 919 Evo run Pikes Peak? That might be stepping on Volkswagen a bit… but I’m sure the suspension could handle it and they could build different aero for it.

Always been curious as to how one of the purpose built hillclimb single seaters as used in the British Hillclimb Championship would fare at Goodwood. I've seen them in their natural environment at Wiscombe Park and such and they are wickedly fast. Be interesting to see how they stacked up at the FoS.
Only Graeme Wight jnr has ever been invited in 2003, he won with ease and was told to slow down . Today's cars are roughly three to four seconds quicker so it's not hard to see why they've never been invited back

I see them very soon restricting cars doing the hill climb due to the speed they doing - they had to pick the current layout because even back in 1993 cars were going way too fast for the other layouts they had in mind

after the crash that killed a driver and a marshal, F1 cars were banned from doing timed runs. Doesn't make much sense that cars that are even quicker are allowed to

Considering a current f1 is so big compared to the 919, the evo is the most realistic shot at smashing the record. Good driving on your part! You gonna share any results of what ppl submitted?
One of the best races i ever saw on CZcams was, when Goodwood had a race with pre-WW1 race cars.
I dont know about that, but I did a sub 2 second pitstop all by myself. We didn't change tires or refuel. But I was the entire pit crew!

3:44 That is the 2016 Porsche 919, at least the 919 with the 2016 livery. The original 919 would be the 2014 one when it did its racing debut.
The F2004 is my absolute favourite car, it was staggering how far ahead of the opposition it was. I don't even think that Merc from a couple of years ago was that dominant, although it looks like this years Red Bull is going to take over as the most dominant car in F1 history, it's also just so far ahead a rats anus could win the championship in it.

May I respectively suggest you investigate a real UK Hillclimb such as Doune, Loton or Shelsley Walsh either in real or sim .
Curious as to what the "problem" is. Are the cars too grippy? The track too short? I note the flint wall looked MUCH easier to get through, even allowing for the lack of imminent death allowing you to be extra brave. 9 seconds off that monster thing is too much though.
Goodwood is frickin' amazing but I'm still amazed this is even allowed. I mean........5:23.......if you have a brake failure at that turn, aren't you just..........dead?
For something like the Goodwood hillclimb, the 919 Evo has already been surpassed. That single-seat suction car from last year smacked the Evo back to the drawing board.

How do you get Goodwood Hill climb on Assetto Corsa? Is it a DLC? I can't find it on steam?

I have a couple of questions . . .
First, how fast could that Ferrari climb the hill if you were to put modern slick tyres on it?
Second, if you want a car that obeys no rules, you need the Red Bull X20 10. It runs about 1500 hp, has a fan like the infamous Brabham "fan car", and develops significantly less drag than an F1 car. It has never been built, except in sim, but Red Bull F1 engineers were fully involved in its design.
There's also the Red Bull X1 mod, which is basically an X2010 that is so absurdly souped up it does sub-minute lap times at most Grand Prix tracks

Wow, the 919 brute-forced it's way up the hillclimb whilst the Ferrari F2004 seemed to just glide up the hill. The EVO looked like it was on the brink of loosing control.
Even when it's looking like it's about to spit you off it's still gripping.
The beer is stupid expensive, but not as much as you'd think, shop around, avoid caterers who do the GP.....12 quid for a bacon butty and a redbull.
SOME cars go flat out. Some got flat out for a little bit.
Just because the event doesn't time the F1 runs, doesn't mean the drivers don't......it might only be once a year or less......but now and then an F1 driver fires it up the hill close to flat out (obvs not 3% over the limit and relying on prayer like Heidi was).....half of Gasly's runs I saw were proper quick......except through the flint wall.

@@AidanMillward That was from the same shower you see at the GPs.....it's a big string of outlets that are all just fronts for one big common slop kitchen.....pizzas curries and butties all done together.

If it's the RSS version then it's very busted compared to the real car, unless they nerfed it.
Sadly RSS totally botched the sound of the 919 evo. None of the lovely ALS, none of the lovely turbochatter. Otherwise their mods are incredible.

F1 cars aren't allowed to go flat out because they're not as quick as the latest hillclimb single seaters which is why they're not even invited. It's pathetic ....end of, nothing to do with safety,they can't have their precious f1 cars and best drivers in the world been beaten by amateurs can they
