919 evo is probably more comparable with 2018 - 2020 cars which were a lot faster than current generation.

@@dofrondemeraude5607it's not accurate, the 919 Evo had the track record around Spa until in 2019 Leclerc got it during qualifying, then it changed again in 2020 with the W11 I think. Those cars are just mods, they're not accurate

I find it unbelievable how balanced these cars seem to be, you’ll see bigger differences between F1 cars. Respect for 919, as it does this at times 24 hours😮
This is not the LMP1 that race at le mans..... Its a non rule car that was made for the sole pourpose of beating track records
Id love if these comparisons you do were fastest lap time, so the two cars can ghost through each other.

2:23 i don't get why the 919 evo tops out at 355km/h, as it reached 370 on the Nurburgring, and they could probably make it reach higher speeds when needed on a track like La Sarthe.
I get this is simply a mod so it won't be perfectly accurate, but hey a difference of 15km/h on a track like La Sarthe isn't negligible at all 😭

I think it only reached that speed briefly with boost so I don’t think it is able to sustain that speed for long but I agree around here maybe they could bring a set up with less drag. I also think the F1 is going way too fast even with drs and the slipstream
@mase8832 actually on the Nurburgring it sustained that speed with ICE only.
And considering how fast of a circuit La Sarthe is, the difference would have been pretty big, probably under 3min lap.

Lmp1 cars are also super gripy super aerodynamic so the result doesn't surprise me.
919evo is allowed to tune downforce and alowed to use drs all the time also tune the engine.

I can tell you that a 919 would not beat a RB19 like that in real life.

This is the unrestricted 919 though, which most certainly could compete with F1 Cars, especially the 2023 cars.
I thought that 919 would have the advantage at the straights while the RB19 has the advantage on the turns.

I was very surprised that the F1 did well on the Mulsanne straight, because it's set up for downforce, not speed.
I tried to balance both cars for good speed on the Mulsanne without losing too much grip in the corners.

both cars are competitively fast. Although the F1 cars are small in size, their engines and techs can put quite a show. And for the porsche a very impressive takeoff
I don't think, a real race would end like this.

I was like, "there's no way the RB19 would be this fast on the straights" and then saw it's the ScamDream version. Their cars are pretty much only good for pics due to their insane poly counts. Physics wise they are terrible. 919 EVO also reached 370 kph on the Nordschliefe so it could definitely be faster at Le Mans. Using the RSS Formula Hybrid to pair against their 919 EVO you used would be a more accurate comparison, especially setting both up for Le Mans. But anyways, no surprise an unregulated Le Mans Prototype made to race at Le Mans is faster at Le Mans than an F1 car which is made for any track except Le Mans (and ovals of course).
sure but you could also run a very low downforce setting on the F1 and top at 390. The F1 would still outbrake the 919 and be faster on the curves.
@@piwo647 No F1 car has driven 242 MPH. There was a Honda F1 where they removed all the aero and wings and took it to a salt flat and did 256 MPH, but of course that car was stripped of everything and would be undrivable around a track.
The top track speed by an F1 car is 231 MPH back in 2005. Modern F1 cars need a perfect combination of a low downforce track at high altitude and slip stream with DRS to get anywhere close to that. For a modern F1 car to hit 242 MPH, they'd pretty much have to run an unreasonably low downforce setup and have to overhaul all the aero to make it drivable around a track.
919 Evo has a recorded top speed of 230 MPH, but that's also while running high downforce setups at Spa and Nords. Porsche doing 240 MPH at Le Mans with a reasonable low downforce setup is perfectly possible. 250 MPH could maybe be possible because the Evo had 53% more downforce than the race version the previous year at Spa and still hit 230 MPH.

The RB19 got pretty close thanks to the infinite DRS, without it it would've been at least 10 seconds
it was a one lap race. DRS could last long for that much time ig + 919 EVO is the pinnacle of Le Mans car. Send W11 in there and it will leave the 919 EVO in dust

@@adi3326 Le Mans is an endurance track not a race track.So yeah you could say 919 Evo would have a better chance but also it's an unrestricted car. F1 cars are under lots of restrictions. Just by changing the tires from Soft to Ultra soft it will gain +2 sec per lap over illegal evo. Unrestricted F1 car would be unbeatable coz no car could acheive the downforce like F1.
The V8 F1 cars from 10+ years ago were 6sec's a lap faster than they are currently.

@@f1virtualfilms Ok, I concede, but there are still lap records held at several tracks from 2004 - 2013-era F1 cars, and the difference is still more than enough to win this particular race. So perhaps not 6sec's, but you get what I mean. The newest Gen cars are not spectacularly faster than cars from 10+ years ago. All that means is that the LMP1 and Unlimited cars are certainly leaps and bounds better than they were, but not universally better than F1 cars in general.

Tracks like La Sarthe are not what F1 cars are designed for. There are hardly any fast or medium corners. They offer unbelievable grip and that is the strength of them. Putting them on ovals or huge straights is pointless. Then the Evo was formula-less. You could easily make an F1 car six seconds a lap faster by allowing all the stuff they banned over the last decade.
Do a good comparisson where neither car is hampered by the other

In Gran Turismo 4 Lemans cars can also compete with F1, we just need to make Lemans cars out of regulations. F1 cars can be passed, even if they only last 1 to a few laps.

Interesting but real world weather would also be a factor and the red bull was certainly not the fastest in a straight line, although I suspect on a real track the F1 car would be faster through the corners than demonstrated

Not a real race really, an actual race driver would of abused the slipstream down the long straights and pulled out so far back.
Fastest ever lap around le mans was a 3:14.791 done by Kamui Kobayashi in the Toyota TS050 hybrid on a flying lap. The 919 evo is 10 seconds quicker, from a standing start. Jesus fucking christ.

@@_TORN4D0_ It hit 355 because it didn’t use the hybrid boost. Because of the chikaines on the Mulsainne straight it wouldn’t be practical to use up all the boost every time the car exits a chikaine just to hit 370 because it would deplete the battery.

If you watch the full run, you can see that almost immediately after hitting that speed, the car slowly started to slow down (partially becasue it was an uphill section, but the other reason being that the car’s own combustion engine wasn’t able to continuously rev high enough to maintain taht speed without the help of the hybrid motors)

Again this video cannot be classed as accurate, it needs to be done as a timed split screen lap or with a ghost car. There were a number of times that the head to head doesnt work on this sim, the 919 basically barging the rb19 out of the way on a coup,e of corners. And the towards the end of the lap the 919 has suddenly pulled out a gap from the previous shot (from 2 mins 50). Come on man do it properly, being as these sims are very accurate to the actual performance and capabilities of the cars, i would like to see which car is actually faster around le mans.

That fat EVO can't turn like an F1.
It's the Scam Dream RB19 so it's less that the Evo is turning like an F1 car and more like the RB19 isn't turning like an F1 car. SD's physics are terrible so they make up for it by just making them fast in a straight line which is how it managed to keep up with an unregulated LMP1 that has a 30+kph top speed advantage.
Until you realise that a F1 car can go up to 397 Km/h. The top speed of that hypercar is 370 Km/h💀💀💀
