- Since we never got to see the 919 EVO mod in action at Spa, I figured it would be nice to take to the track and try and beat the 1:41:770 set by Neel Jani

Jimmy Broadbent nice driving vs daniel
Its rumored that the car is able to do a 1:36 in Spa simulated. Maybe with a bit time you can get close there.
Jimmy Broadbent jimmy you should won this, daniel cut the schicane but yeah nice and easy your driving i love your driving
Have u listened to the marshall Pruett Podcast with Neel Jani?
Do you have a link?
Jimmy, remember us when Porsche moves you to a golden shed in their garden in Stuttgart
Having ye old thicc brit boi right around the corner would be immense fun ngl
PpP you mean in Zuffenhausen.
I live 2 minutes away from the factory and the museum
Emil Frey same hahaha
@@emilfrey600 😲
Not a porsche but he did get a real car
It’s insane that real life drivers set those lap times. The G’s in the corners must be immeasurable.
At least 5 G's in Eau Rouge
@@obseine1703 yea basically a fastestestest roller coaster with a steering wheels and brakes... haha
They are actually measured
And people still have the audacity to say reaching is not a sport
@@haydenchan2003 reaching?
You did it without DRS too. You'd be faster with it. Damn good driving.
these cars dont have drs
G0dF0ther The real life unsrestricted one did.
On the other hand I don't think Neel Jani was able to do nearly as many setup changes as Jimmy did.
Still an impressive lap from both of them.
From what I heard, the mod compensates for the automatic DRS by having the car be a little bit faster than the real one.
Unless Kunos makes physics files, we can't be sure if the performance of this car in the video is similar to the real one. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean that Jimmers performance was bad.
I'm glad someone else thinks Spa's outline looks like an Uzi.
Daniel Learmouth 😂😂 always thought that aswell
i thought the same aswell
Daniel Learmouth same man. Holy shit
No, its a wizard with a hoover.
Daniel Learmouth been thinking that ever since i was like 5 :D
Although uzi is a bit too specific for little me but whatever :D
Jimmy Broadbent Porsche driver confirmed.
And a Le Mans GTE Winner
So far not
1:06 whoever decided that the word “lisp” needed an S in it was a massive troll.
Lol!
Same for the aibohphobia or the phobia of words that are the same forward as they are backwards.
I still hate trying to say this word
same as with a gottlestop
“Jimmy is now official Porsche race driver confirmed!” Well, Praga is close enough
On your last lap I was like "PLEASE DONT THROW IT AWAY !!!" And you didn't. Awesome drive mate.
I'm seeing comments here about the DRS, and track conditions, and the ability to change the setups Jimmy has as compared to the real life counterpart, but let's be real folks.
Professional drivers have the benefit of, literally, an entire team of expert engineers and analysts to set up a car. They don't NEED to do many setup changes, the car is pretty much where it needs to be when it hits the track. Jimmy has a computer and some driving/tuning know how. Advantage: Real life.
This race car has a DRS system which gives it a further advantage in a straight. The virtual version of this car doesn't. Advantage: Real life.
In most sims you can recreate track and ambient conditions, but that's not really necessary in a sim race, especially for a hot lap challenge. Let's say the conditions are a little better for Jimmer here. Advantage: Broadbent.
Also... this is virtual, so as well as the track and car are recreated, the speed around a circuit depends on the physics and tire models. As close to real as it might be, it's not real, and that's advantage: Broadbent.
There is also one bit of information that a sim racer doesn't have: Seat-of-the-pants feel, or G-Force. This makes it tougher for real world drivers to handle corners due to the gravitational forces on the body, but also gives them a better feel for acceleration and cornering. Advantage: Evens out.
All of these things considered... Jimmy Broadbent, in a virtual Porsche 919 Evo, just set a faster lap time around Spa than a professional driver in the real-life counterpart. No matter what, it is HARD to beat a professional driver. Don't take anything away from this incredible performance.
GG, Jimmy. GG.
Ronald Wright Jr. The best comment in regards to Jimmy's "controversial" time if you will. Well said.
Ronald Wright Jr. Not really Jimmy could've pushed as hard as he wanted without facing any consequences while the real life driver probably dosent know the limits of the car and is risking his life if he pushes over the edge to be honest I don't understand how you can compare a lap in a game to real life.
Emile Brown Jimmy COULD push as hard as he wanted with no consequences. However, a sign of a proper sim racer is that he'll treat the "game" as though it's real life. This is obviously Jimmy's approach here.
Don't forget that professional drivers use sims to get accustomed to race tracks or find nuances to improve lap times, because these cars and tracks are all laser scanned and accurate to the mm. There's plenty that translates from one of these sims to real life.
Also, give a professional race driver his due credit... They push their equipment to the limit, same as anyone on one of these sims. They simply approach it differently, in that they have to warm up to it, while a sim racer has the ability to go over the limit with no consequences. I've seen professional racers go over that edge, and it ain't pretty... But it's what they live for; finding out where that limit is.
You should try one of these sims some day to understand the difficulty that goes into running a fast lap. It's not Need for Speed lol
Ronald Wright Jr. if you put him in the real car on the real track, he would probably struggle to get around in 2:30 let alone come close to the time he set on the game. Driving in real life is a different beast.
A Cat this is true. But if you think about it, even when moving one driver of one type of car to another type of car, it will take hours of seat time to be competitive with a hot lap. All the same, if a professional driver just jumped onto a sim, he wouldn't come close to setting the time Jimmy does on the sim. Hell, if another sim racer jumped right on Jimmy's setup, he probably couldn't run a similar time.
It's all in knowing your platform. What's insane to me is that people are trying to take something away from Jimmy because he's on a sim, comparing his time to real life. I mean, for God's sake, you've never done something similar on a racing game? I know I have, and the closest I've ever come to MATCHING a top pro lap is coming within .2 of a second.
We (As a whole when it comes to these commenters) are critiquing this way too hard, man. WAY too hard. Do a check list: Do you love racing? Check. Do you want to see someone go fast? Check. Wouldn't it be cool if he could go as fast as the real thing? Check. Jimmy just did. Wow!
I sim race, and I couldn't run the lap Jimmy did in the sim. I'd probably be more than a half second off. Just appreciate what this dude accomplished is all I'm saying.
Looks like all those license tests in GT3 were worth it after all :)
The torture that got jimmy a lot of publicity
Including the Seattle ptsd machine
I love how excited and into it you get. It's exactly why I like watching your videos, good job man!
Great lap!
Awesome video, it's really cool watching part of the process and seeing what you tweak on the setup to improve the lap time, how you lose a bit of speed on one sector to be a faster boi on the overall lap. I'd love a hot lap challenge series with this kind (or even more in depth) explanations :D
Someone needs to tell Porsche to hire Jimmer
MrFailman552 lol...you're not taking G forces into consideration
Trance 9 You're not taking the joke into consideration
WeightyLemur what a burn
henlo Pornsche, hire the thick boi
WeightyLemur OOOOOOOHHHH!😲🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That was a bloody amazing lap around my favourite F1 circuit. Congrats on beating that really impressive time.
that was a monster last lap... and without DRS!
*F A S T B O I*
just seen this as your first video, its bloody amazing.
deserve way more subs, good shit!
As someone trying to improve their sim racing, a look into your process was super useful, thanks!
The bad thing abt this mod is it doesn’t had drs like the real evo has
Adding drs is really easy.
You just need to add drs.ini to data with
[WING_1]
EFFECT=[Amount 0-1]
[WING_2]
EFFECT=[Amount 0-1]
lukaslp You learn something new every day i guess
Doesn't that basically remove all the drag from the wings? In that case that's a bit extreme.
JellyD not if you type a number less than 1
For example EFEECT=0.3
Ah thanks. that's really helpfull!
+JimmyBroadbent Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo vs Le Mans please? can you attempt to smash the 3 minute barrier?
it will for sure tho if its 15 secs faster at spa it will be like 25 secs faster in le mans
Also PLEASE take the Red Bull X2010 around the same track to get a theoretical all time record if such a car was created
The Red bull X2010 can do like sub 2:45 minute laptimes around LeMans.
@@kizzagt i bet I can do it in less than 2:00 minutes in the srt tomahawk x
Someone did an official practice lap in iracing with the FW31 in under 3 mins. Only time it has ever been done in the game although the new McLaren will probably beat it.
Just subscribed earlier last night. I love your channel and your personality man.
Racing games are my LiFE sine i was a tiny bab. AWESOME job beating that record!
I've been subbed to you for about 2 weeks, loving your videos and I really enjoy your streams. Thank you 👍
godddamn!!! that last lap was blistering quick!! good stuff Jimmer! keep up the good work :)
Amazing driving !
Taking great lines and just flowed that track so well ! Hypnotizing ! Damn
Awesome video man!
That final bus stop was so intense! I was staring at the delta the entire time. Well done, Jimmy!
Love That Reaction At The End. That’s passion!
Great video 🤙
That was a good watch! I was anxious to see that final laptime, think you'll have to rethink your choice of iR LMP1 ;)
More 5-hotlap challenges! Try and beat one of the F2004 lap records
i like the way when you have a crap lap...u come back each time and tell us exactly what you;ve done to the car. Especially for someone like me( that absolutely eats sleeps and drinks F1) who always has trouble setting up the car and i use a controler. Good job bro....what a driver.
This was a great video. Would love a series like this.
Congratz Jimmy! Also I think you're videos are getting more and more entertaining somehow
I was glued to the screen!! Super driving Jimmer!
That was honestly so fun to watch! Great video
You're really a fast driver young man and I enjoy your videos a lot. Btw this machine is a freaking monster...bloody hell
Great last lap !
the pops from the exhaust on the upshifts is the most satisfying sound
Lol, That last lap was much faster to watch, well done!, Jimmy please can you do some more progression laps like this, but also can you make it clear what your setup changes are/were. It really helps understand things. Many thanks, great video!
Cool to watch hard to replicate but no G forces. Your video's are a blast. I thought I was a pretty good SIM racer specializing in Porsche but not so much after watching you. Loved your 917 video. Keep up the great video's and amazing skills.
This would be so awesome if you could make more of these but on other tracks and on other times!
DankDubs yes!!!
Imagine being in the mid 1900’s and seeing this pleb with some kind of box inside of his face driving this well
Imagine being in the 2000's and seeing this pleb living in some kind of a box with some kind of box on his face.
I'm actually in love with this car, it's so awesome!
Love all your content, congratulations on your win
On the fastest lap, your lines through the last twisty section were different no name and onwards, faster, less orthodox but pushing the limits of the down force more, I think that was the biggest part of your best time. Enjoyed watching you claw 0.4 each time very satisfying to watch, sure it was even better to do
That was awesome man!!! I felt so happy for you when you beat it!!!!
I love the sound of the transition in this car!
Amazing run Jimmy! Congrats man!
Awesome drive Jimmy! Incredible.
Really really really impressive Jimmer!!! Awesome job!!!
I really enjoyed that jimmer. More of these type videos please where you just see the progression each lap and go inside your head for a bit to see how to improve. Awesome stuff
What's a jimmer
Fantastic Run, Jimmer! Well done!
Nice video, love your vr and setup, that shall be so nice to drive with this
Well done Sir.Good lap. I loved your Puhon exit.
I think regardless of the differences between this car in real and in sim, Jimmy's driving was damn impressive and isn't something to scoff at because it's a sim. Well done, Jim
That was insane. Great job dude!
