  • Great truly wireless earbuds with the best sound in its category for the active user. Look past this if you need noise isolation when in noisy environments.

      I find comfort being the main selling point. In my ears (could have to do with fit) bass is overwhelming. I always EQ- them a lot. The wired Bose IE has better soundstage, resolution and tonal balance. I hardly ever use mine though, since the wireless ones are so comfortable.

    I bought these and returned them and bought the Jabra 65T because a friend of mine got the Jabras. Next day returned Jabra bought the Bose back. No comparison as the Bose have a much better sound and richer bass. Love them and guess if had a complaint would be that the stick out of the ear a little but no big deal.

    I love these, I use to have the around the neck LG Bluetooth headset. These Bose Soundsport Free blows them out the water. I use them while I'm riding my bike & the Bass is great & all I can hear is my music. It takes phone calls great & crystal clear, but u can only hear from the right earbud which is fine with me. I'm not experiencing any lag while I'm using them watching CZcams. My only gripe would be that they look big in my ears, but I got use to them.

    Great review. I have the Bose Sound SportFree as well. The only MAJOR problem problem I found is the clipping in and out and lost of connection. Well, I did a little process of elimination. Found that it only does that using my IPhone XS Max. Not once did it do that while paired to my Galaxy Note 9. I could have the IPhone laying on my chest and the audio will cut out. Now using it on my Note 9. I walked around the house with phone sitting still and it never cut out. Saying all this to say. The ear buds are great. Just be aware of the phone you pair it with.

    Just got these. Watching your review with the SS Free on it sounds like I'm right there with you. I can hear the bird chirping and a jet flying over in the background. They do seem a bit heavy but not overly so and they stay in my ears really well. They aren't going to come out easily. They do stick out a bit as you noted but it's liveable. I noticed a slight lag between video and sound but it's not as bad as previous comments suggested when watching people speak on other You Tube vids, maybe 1/4 of a second off, if that. Range is really good on my s8 plus, I went in the basement and to the back of the house away from my phone and I could hear everything clearly. Very good product!

    I have had the LG Tone Free and The Motorola ..... actavis 2....The orange waterproof ones...I just got these and so far they are great! I like being able to hear the music loud and clear and then also be able to hear what's going on around me to an extent instead of just canceling out all sound and being in your own world which can be great sometimes if you have that time. But I think they do have great sound the only thing I don't like is the right one being the main. I have been using the other ones at work and most of the time when people are talking to me or shouting stuff from the other room it comes from the right side so I did enjoy having the left side as the main on the other models but you got to take the good with the bad.

  • @TallysVids
    @TallysVids Před 6 lety +6

    Super helpful and informative review. Can't wait to get these, but Bose have annoyingly decided not to release these in the UK till Spring 2018.
    The good thing with these is, they have size customisation, unlike the AirPods, which either fit or they don't, and if they don't fit, you cannot make them.
    One thing I like about the Soundsport Free is the telephone call only coming out of one side. I find sometimes when wearing headphones/earphones for telephone calls, I have a tendency to talk too loud, due to my hearing been reduced from wearing the headphone/earphone. So with the Soundsport Free, I would be able to clearly hear how loud I was talking.

    I own several Bose products, including a noise isolating headphone set QuietComfort 15, two Soundlinks, and one Soundbar. But I returned these SoundSport Free ear buds. Audio quality of just about any music was superb. But the video lag, the disconnect between the video and the audio, was really disconcerting. Finally, when I used my Galaxy S7 to make a phone call, it was just awful, so distorted a sound both ways; the other person also heard me in a garbled way. I don't think I'm getting any Bluetooth headsets in the near future. Oh, I forgot to say, I also have a wired ear bud set by Bose, I forget the model name. I love it.

    My son in law and I just got these for Christmas. Both of us have THE SAME PROBLEM! When listening to them and lay down on the right ear, the connection is lost! Left ear bud goes dead, then the right. Then the left gives a beep, then the right. Sit back up and the right gives a beep, then the left. Right bud has sound again, then the left. If you cover the right ear with your hand the left bud goes silent. Called Bo$e tech support and they never heard of this before. Googled this problem and got over 1/4 million hits. Bo$e will not admit there is a problem, will exchange and that takes over 2 weeks to do.

    If it wasn’t for the audio lag on CZcams videos these would be #1 because I love there audio that video lag is a deal breaker especially given the price point it’s weird because the Bose soundsport didn’t have any of these issues 🤷‍♂️

    Had them for over a year and although the charge box indicates that the headphones are fully charged at 100 percent after about two hours they need a recharge. The lasted about four hrs before. I’m very disappointed

    I also commute in and out of Manhattan and bought these Bose buds for my commute. However, two days in, I took them right back. I experienced the left ear drop while playing music consistently at every cross street. I really really wanted these to work because they sound so damn good but unfortunately, even buying them recently and immediately doing the most recent firmware update, the slave ear drop still exists. Not to mention the video lag, which is absolutely noticeable, even if it's only a split second delay it is incredibly annoying. For the price of these I wasn't willing to accept a mediocre experience. I traded in for the Jabra Elite Actives which were $150 on sale @ Best Buy and have found their shortcomings to be on par with their cost. They have a more typical ear bud rubber piece which only stays comfortable for me for about an hour(I've always had comfort problems with buds like that). They also maybe have about 80% the depth of the bose sound, installing the Jabra app helped that a lot too with the built in equalizer. But I definitely love the sound isolation, and the double-tap constant passthrough sound option as well. All in all, I definitely feel like the Jabra's are worth their price way more than the Bose, and Bose needs to stop relying solely on their awesome audio quality and invest some in the user experience as well.

      What do you listen to music on? If you use spotify premium, you will expirence no earbud drop with these, whereas if you use data on youtube or any other music app you will expirence possible minor drop, but easily fixable by unsyncing and syncing again

      @@mannywlaker1377 I've found that it depends on the environment that you're in. It has to do with the left-right connection, not the service. And still, for the cost of these there shouldn't be any drops between the earbuds, or between the device and buds.

      You make a very valid point, but even the most expensive items, can expirence minor glicthes, or "accidents" throughout its lifetime.

      Im seeing your side of view, on the point of if your paying for these, you shouldnt be expirencing such frequent drops, and accidents. Hopefully bose will look into this issue, so you can enjoy your bose expirence!

    1) I just bought them yesterday and can't connect the Bose Connect App to my Soundsport Free. Tried 10 or more web tips: Uninstall, clear cache, etc etc. Nothing works. This app can't even detect my earphones.
    2) This is more than annoying: There is a painful, hurting default prompt sound every time the Google Assitant pops up. It has been setup so loud and sharp from the factory that hurts your hearing (There are more than 2000 people complaining about these very Sounsport issues in Google community and other forums).
    I don't know if this can be fixed up with the Bose Connect.
    So I'm really frustrated and pissed off.
    This is the second one I buy. I lost the first. But the previous did not have this Google Assistant automatic connection neither the loud hurting pop up sound. Also the other promp sounds were soft and relaxing. But never used the Bose App.
    I own a Samsung Note 9 Mobile Phone.

Basically, I do not like the ones where you have to squeeze the tip and then push them into the hole kind of feelings...Please confirm again as I am going to place an order. I have these and the 65t. These sound better, but the 65t are smaller and more convenient. Both are equally comfortable, but the Bose look like shrek ears. I use the Bose soundsport more often now because the jabras ran into issues where they would no longer turn on or off automatically when in or out of the case, and the left earbud sometimes drops connection. Bummer, since everyone recommended them to me and they were great for the month that they worked properly. I actually got the Bose sound sport for 80 bucks brand new at Nordstrom rack.

    As with most ear/headphones it depends on what phone you have. That’s what affects the sound quality. iPhones will have a better sound and connection because Bose leans more towards Apple products as he stated.

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  Před 6 lety

      Paul Salazar Not anymore. Android Oreo devices such as the Google Pixel also support AAC over Bluetooth. So you'll get the best audio performance that iPhones were capable of along with even better audio performance through AptxHD and LDAC. Androids are always a step ahead.
