I tried all ways and spent ages trying to re-attach, and was just envisioning having to pay megabucks to get the problem resolved - even to the point of replacing the radio head - when, lo and very behold! - I came across your video and, joy unspeakable, it then took me just a few minutes to get everything re-attached and up and running again. Tried this. Didn't quite work the same way as it did here as I think our touch screen buttons are out of alignment however it did work sufficiently to solve a Bluetooth pairing problem so a profound thank you!

what do i do if my source button in the top right will not click work. i click it and it blinks a different color but it won’t change to the source screen
Don't work for me. 2007 highlander screen comes on but not responding to touch of any kind. Thankfully this old Toyota has a few push button controls otherwise I'd have no access to Climate/Stereo
I’m having issues with my Venza screen I am using the card and magnetic strip but it is not reaching the bottom right corner I’m trying to delete devices and add a new phone no luck I’ve been trying for over an hour with different cards… any other advice?
Absolutely .I have a rare earth magnet on the bottom of my pick. This way if I get a target and I scrap back the top layer with the pick, the magnet will pick up any metal or rust . If the target is gone on the next swing after the scrape , I check the magnet on the end of the pick. This pick magnet is also very handy if you are working pushes or scrapes. Dozers will drop a lot of metal shards. So after getting a target , drag the magnet through the target area to eliminate shards and re check with detector.
What is the permanent solution to this problem, aside replacing the entire head unit. What if I change the touch screen glass digitizer alone, can this resolve the unresponsive screen issue? Thanks in advance.
@@rhanson13 i went because the screen isn't responding to touches. camera and steering controls still work. i havent got any work done im just dealing with it
@@damagesgoldprospecting7635 other videos have said it's an issue with the digitizer, which they claim is less than a $50 part, and can be replaced in less than an hour.
@@proakkie942 some of the videos I saw were saying they found a replacement on amazon, and said you need to be sure you get the right size for your vehicle. When I searched for one, I found several sellers with a range of prices, but there were several around the $50 price point.

After trying this forever it finally worked!! I touched the strip directly to the button, I was shoving it into the border of the screen instead

Make sure one of your fingers is touching the magnetic strip on the back of the card .

Actually I needed to push the edge of my card BELOW the bottom edge of the screen to get it to work and it finally did.

Yes, I replaced the glass digitizer alone and since then no more issues…bought the item on eBay.

if the side buttons dont work, try twisting the volume button first. then the side buttons should work.

I dont get how this is a Hack short of always carrying a card around, which defeats the purpose of driving and being able to just push the buttons

That's a work-around, not a fix. A fix would be recalibrating the touchscreen.

Unfortunately you can not recalibrate this model .
This fix is more of a cost saver .
