i was at the Cape when Challenger flew apart. Not a good day. Then my second cousin died in the Columbia disaster. Not a good day. Can't believe it has been 20 years. Rest in peace.

Artemis program is basically a zombie of STS. In my opinion the STS hardware should be preserved for the future generations to see. Instead became part of SLS and Orion service module. Both are expandable.

Hard to believe it happened 20 years ago. I feel like I can remember hearing about it when it happened--though, thinking about it, I would've only been a preschooler at the time, so that seems unlikely. I am certain I knew about the Shuttle's final mission when that occurred; maybe I heard about Columbia then, and the memory got mislabeled. I'm glad only one spaceflight tragedy has happened in my lifetime--and that one, again, likely too early for me to actually, in truth, remember--but we must never become complacent. No matter how--dare I say it--routine spaceflight feels like it is becoming, we must remember: it is still a test program. Constant vigilance--this is the only way we can properly honour the sacrifices of those brave explorers who went before us.
