Great videos, and feel the same pain here too with an 2018 cupra 300. Costco tyres did a great price on mp4s tyres ÂŁ600 for 4 and found a local mobile mechanic to replace discs and pads, much cheaper that the dealers, saved 100's. My car was a marshalls approved used and found them to be awful with warranty repairs. My had a major service and told the water pump was leaking and needed changing for about ÂŁ450. Told them it was under warranty (bought extended) and then it became less of an urgency. Took months to get sorted....so complain and escalate straightaway...keep up the great content đ
Congratulations on the 15k subs mate.....Well Deserved đ My experience with VAG cars is they are expensive in their upkeep. Hopefully you can get the suspension sorted under warranty. I had to do 2 shocks on my TTS when I had it....adaptive....just shy of ÂŁ700 for the rears !! Congratulations again mate....Best channel on here đ
Thanks Adam. Yes just unfortunate timing needing brakes and tyres at the same time. The suspension is the icing on the cake haha but hopefully will be sorted without any hassle đ€đ» Thanks for the support as always đ
Ive picked up my cupra last week and needed new tyres as it was on original continentals on the rear which were cracking and had new sport contact on the front but ive gone and swapped my pilot sport 4s from my golf which is for sale onto the cupra. Luckily my cupra has done 9k miles so doesn't really need other work other than it being overdue a service. But going to take out an extended warranty for peace of mind like you mentioned
"light misting of oil" is very common on these. Mine has it. Was told by the place that did my MOT that it's super common and considered almost normal on MQB platform cars. Was speaking to a VW technician too who said the same thing. Just got front and rear discs and pads for mine in Black Friday sales. Ferodo DS Performance pads and VBT J hook front discs and plain rear discs. ÂŁ592. So much more than what brakes were on my previous car, a Mk7 Fiesta ST but they're massive in comparison lol. Will get them fitted at some point soon.
This video basically echos my ownership of my 2019 Seat Leon Cupra Lux. Got it approved used like you back in Sept 2021. Loved every minute of owning it and itâs absolutely everything I wanted. However, I I just replaced 2 rear tyres to Michelin Pilot Sport 4âs and I needed to get 4 wheel alignment done. My car has ADAS or something to do with lane assist and adaptive cruise, so of course itâs naturally ÂŁ240 for a âspecialâ wheel alignment from SEAT next week. Itâs a good job I love itâŠ.
Congrats on reaching 15k! đ„ł Iâve recently had to replace the tyres on my FK8 Type RâŠ..black circles quote was ÂŁ294 per tyre for Michelin 4s!!! And now I have a nail in one that canât be repaired as it too close to the sidewall đ Currently looking for smaller wheelsâŠ.
Many congrats again on the 15K subs. Very interesting around tyre costs. My Golf R has 18" cadiz wheels and it costs me ÂŁ370 for Pilot Sport 4's all round from black circles back in 2020. The 4WD R does not seem to eat through tyres but then perhaps I drive it too slowly haha. My Fiesta ST would eat through the fronts quite often so it is for sure a front wheel drive thing. As for the suspension issues weeping should normally be okay but if you can get them to change them all under warranty go for it and hopefully they will. The rear left suspension my thinking about the black line is perhaps the roads you are driving on are quite bouncy and it affected the left. It is not something I have seen before but worth again checking out to be safe. It does seem like a heavy cost month for your cupra but on the plus side once it is all sorted it should mean happier miles ahead with less of a cost to your wallet in the future. Also, looking forward to filming next week with you đ
Thanks Sam, itâs always frustrating when they all come at once and you have to get your wallet out đ when itâs sorted itâll be all good, just expensive consumables really.
Hey Gary always good to see a video. Pleased on the 15k Goal. Yes ares cost money all the time. Iâve found you can spend ÂŁ1000 a year just on insurance and VED, add service MOT and fuel and your hitting over ÂŁ6k a year. This is not including tyres. Your lucky with the warranty. When your warranty does expire are you going to pay out for an extended one? Your are correct looks like rubbing on the back this might fail on MOT for shocks. You could try putting the car in early for mot.
Yea good idea. I need to try and get it all wrapped up in one visit ideally. So if they find a problem with the shocks just leave it with them, have it rectified and then MOTâd afterwards. Iâll do an update video đđ»
Discs and pads are easily done yourself. Rear will need a diagnostic too to rewind the calipers. My 290 came with the same conti sport contact 5 on the rear as yours did (previous owner kindly put PS4S on the front) had the exact same wheel bearing like noise from the rear. Bought some new Michelins for the back, tyre fitted showed me the old cintis had seriously delaminated on the inside and the inner sidewalls had cracked from the inside out. Tyres are mad expensive in these. Been thinking of getting some 18" wheels for mine. Cheaper tyres, bigger sidewalls for more comfort and cut down road noise
Congratulations on the 15k subs, Gary. Car maintenance is expensive, particularly with hot hatches isnât it? Thatâs one thing I donât miss when got shot of my S1.
Congrats on 15k, if the garage didn't wanna fit the fronts on the back just swap the wheels over, jack the car up and swap fronts for back if it isn't a staggered wheel setup which I don't believe it is
I had MOT in March and all good ,however, i forgot about brake pads..Stealers did say rear brakes 75 % worn, and seems I need it done asap. Mileage just under 30 k for 18 plate. Thanks again for video . Hope things settle down once all done ,as going so well! all crossed !
Yea I know but figured might as well just bite the bullet and have 4 new ones. Not overly keen on brand new up front and 2mm on the rear, wouldnât want it kicking out on me unexpectedly. With newer cars like this I just have the dealers do the work haha. Plus Iâm spending so much time running lately itâs hard to fit in đđđ»ââïž
@@CarFocused each to their own,, but personality would never give my hard earned to garages to fit brakes. The charge a fortune for what essentially is no harder then a basic oil change.
I bought my Cupra 280 in Jan 2022. Since then Iâve had to get a new battery, timing chain, radiator, nearside front and rear shocks, brake vacuum pressure sensor, suspension level sensor and bracket, boot handle, front wishbone bushes, vanos control gaskets and seal, and oil cap, brake fluid change, tyres all round PS4s, alternator belt, camshaft sensor, major service, DSG service, front brake discs and pads. And thatâs all necessary work, not including any optional mods e.g. stage 1 remap, intake filter and hoses etc. đ
Jesus thatâs some list đ Mine has been a little less problematic so far đ At least you can rest easy now that most of it has been replaced hehe.
Performance cars come with a heavier maintenance price yes. Bought new Brembo discs and DS2500 pads to the front for mine. Parts only was already 600âŹ, fitted them by myself. Took like 2 hours to do it. In a garage woul have probably been 800-1000⏠as fitted. I've also had weeping front shocks in a local "MOT" a year ago, but funny enough, just had a basic service yesterday and the garage said they are now ok. A miracle has apparently happened. đ Congrats on the 15k! đ
đđ fortunately when it goes into SEAT they film their vehicle inspection and send it straight to you, so hopefully itâs all true haha. Plus I did have a look at them myself too. Thanks for watching đ
Hi mate, came across your channel and really like your insight. You come across well on camera too! I've been looking at the Estate version but I'm wondering if I'm being a little frivolous getting a thirsty motor.
Man the brake wear is very high. I recently sold my 1.6 tdi Leon 17 plate. Had it from new, front discs and pads still original and only replaced rear pads once( original discs ). Not bad for 122k miles. I donât drive hard though and itâs definitely not a hot hatch but I was still impressed with how well my brakes lasted. The misting shocks however may as well been in the brochure đ I had a front left one that was permanently misted, never needed replacement tho.
Haha it just concerned me a little with them being DCC shocks. Want them being in too condition really. Mine does get driven hard on occasions which will account for some of the brake wear, but I guess itâs all part and parcel of hot hatch ownership of you drive them as intended đ
Thanks for the letting us know this, i have had mine for a year and getting bills too. I see a lot of cupra mk3 owners any tips on getting the clutch replaced? Mines slipping đą
@@CarFocused yeah it is always driven manual and couldn't bring myself to get the dsg. Yes I like to think my gear changes are pretty decent so blaming the clutch!
Mad costs for a hot hatch. Glad I ended up with a Alfa Romeo Giulia similar issue in terms of maintenance costs but one hell of a drive and people look wherever you go
My 2018 Leon fr all 4 injectors just went at 55k miles. I donât rag the car around either so that was a bit bizarre but itâs back running now. Love the car!
@@GARRYEASTON all four went at once. Went off to a company who tested them said they were all not putting fuel through properly. Initially thought it was just an o-Ring as I lost 90 miles worth of fuel in a 10 miles journey. Replaced all 4.
be thankful, just spent ÂŁ945 fitted for 3 tyres (2 rear and 1 front) on my Panamera, then porsche advised disc and pads need changing, took to a friend and only needed to change pads, and rather than Porsche, got Brembo pads, for ÂŁ270 all in, so over ÂŁ1k in a month!!
Understand this manâs pain. Just to get 4pot callipers replaced on the front wheels on my car is over a grand for a âknown reason problem for the pistons eroding causing them to seize. I dont even want to know how much brakes are for it when itâs time đ
My 2015 Seat Cupra ST, has all the same problems yours has! I've just replaced all my brake discs/pads every MOT I get advised of "misting on all shocks" the front shocks are pretty much ruined hardly any rebound left, the rears are making grunts on the rebound too. It's gonna be exspensive at some point, that said it was well worth replacing all the brakes you can deffinately feel the difference braking
So it seems like the shocks on these are just crap and donât last very long. I didnât mention in the video but Iâm getting a fair bit of creaking coming from the front too.
@@CarFocused I bought some silicone WD40 type spray, i did all the bushings / springs front and rear and after a couple of days I got the creaking to completely go away, might be worth a shot until the time comes to actually swap them out
My 19plate Leon 290 has a MOT and full service (including plugs) during May. Costing circa ÂŁ400 at dealership, which is ÂŁ20 cheaper than local specialist. Seat are offering a "All in service plan" for ÂŁ35 pcm for 2 yrs. It'll cover you for x1minor service, x1 major service, x2 MOTs, and an additional 2-year warranty.
Thatâs pretty good actually. They phoned me up and offered me that (stoneacre) but I declined as my car already has the warranty from when I purchased it last year from Marshallâs.
@Car Focused it is good, mate. Mine is also an approved use from a local Seat with a 12-month warranty remaining. It'll increase my current warranty by 1 year.
Thatâs why I got rid of mine as to many niggles and over priced and like you with your Mk3 RS it got me down. Still love my UG and my Seb Loeb GR is incredible. Great vid again and congrats
@@CarFocused it does look iffy but my rears failed on mine much worse than that bud but luckily it was warranty but to many things started to go wrong and enough is enough. When they are good they are great but take a look at the cost of up and coming services as it will scare you especially if SEAT do it. Great content mate đ
I had the front shocks changed on my Golf GTI performance, it has DCC and I managed to get them changed under warranty, just shy of ÂŁ1k!! The rear suspension needed work out of warranty and that cost me ÂŁ600 for arms, bushes etc đą
Hi mate what a nightmare. Good news on getting the fronts done under warranty though. Seems to be a bit of a common theme with these shocks needing attention. Not good really!
Am surprised you not had the dreaded waterpump/thermostat leak yet, I bought a cupra ST AWD estate five months ago and now I got the leak, roughly 1k to repair mine is a 68 plate with 33k on clock
Not as yet - Iâm guessing the symptoms were just loss of coolant? The car does seem to run hot though, the cooling fan is often on after a run but Iâve had the car pressure tested and there arenât any leaks.
@@CarFocused yeah these cars do run hot after I give it a bit the fan does come on, there are two water pumps on these and the one that fails is on the front of the engine about half way down, best way to tell is just look underneath engine and if leaking will see like white stains on the under tray where it has dried with the heat, and if you remove the under tray will see white stains on sump and drips on the pipe
That's the painful thing about the 19s, I was pricing up some tyres for my S3 and it was about ÂŁ50-60 more a corner to if my car was on the 18s. ÂŁ400ish a set is much more palatable than ÂŁ640 lol...
My 340i had the same issues, I needed 3 tyres, at a cost of around ÂŁ500, unfortunately I didn't learn my lesson and traded in for a focus st with the same size tyres đ
Always wanted a cupra, but my recently sold Seat Leon 2019 1.5 when I bought it had slight misting of oil on one of the shocks as an advisory on the MOT. Think it's quite a common fault with these cars. Also Cambelt and waterpump are expensive to replace too
@Car Focused you would think seat would do a recall on it if its a known problem. Was still gutted to sell mine though. Gorgeous cars to drive, so comfortable and the DSG 7 speed was a delight too. Really want a cupra but can't really afford one at the minute
i got a cracked alloy (luckily easy repair), but the Dimond cut has gone on all them, so looking at new alloys, maybe the Cupra R one, but that's like about ÂŁ2k for the 4, plus tyres ps4s are about ÂŁ190 each, i'll keep the tyres on current wheels for winter/road trips.
I can't understand why the tyres are so expensive are the run flats or something? I got myself two 18" michelin PS4's from Camskill at 80quid a corner with a 24quid cashback offer for the mk2 ST.
Man with a plan. Glad you didnât buy cheap tyres for the car. Unfortunately it all adds up very quickly. Might be a broken spring on the rear. Any future plans to collaborate with Road and Face again?
I did have a look at the springs and they look ok but I guess it could be hidden in the cup. Neil is very busy being a Dad to two small children so itâs unlikely đą
Just put PS4s on the front of my 290 Cupra, seem a bit noisier than the Continentals. Halfords fitted them on my drive for ÂŁ320 and put them on the front. Let us know what happens with the suspension, mine is a 2020, with 2 years Seat warranty also. Hope they pay for your dampers. I understand why people buy new or lease, no big bills for 3 years. Congrats on 15k
Interesting you said that, the ps4s on my 340i were pretty noisy aswell, although WAY quieter than the run flats they replaced! Still can't argue with the performance wet grip is impressive
I couldnât see any break on the springs and itâs a possibility it could have been from fitting. Iâm convinced that side is sitting lower thoughâŠ
Nice one. Reason I ask is last June '22 on my MOT I got an advisory for front shock absorber nearside light misting of oil (2018 Leon Cupra ST 300 4drive with DCC). Just today I had this year's MOT and it failed on major oil leak for the same shock absorber...also it got an advisory for light misting on drivers side front. They rang me and advised both to be replaced at a cost of ÂŁ1005. Car is on 33,950 miles, last year it was on 28,500. When asked what I wanted to do I mentioned that it still had the balance of manufacturers (extended) warranty (1 month left). The lady said oh, I'll take it upstairs and get back to you in 5 minutes...which she did...and to my surprise they are repairing it FOC. I say to my surprise because from what I had read online this is often refused under warranty, so in that regard I got lucky, but of course imo it's only fair, as it's unreasonable that shock absorbers should fail at such a low mileage. In my 20k of it's total almost 34k it has been driven extremely sympathetically, and not potholed either.
@@dohc123456789 seems to be a really common issue with these shock absorbers. Very fortunate to have one month left on the warranty! If you read the policy document it does specify that it covers shocks absorbers đđ» But they will only be replaced if they fail, like in your case.
After speaking with them again regarding when the job would be done, I've learned that they are only replacing the leaking one Not the misting one.... although when initially discussed (and in that conversation they were unaware I still had warranty), it was highly recommended to get both done (when they thought I'd be paying) đ
Pilot Sport 5 are not as good as Sport Contact 7's. Sport Contact 7's are currently the best performance tyre you can buy, shortly followed my the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.
Own a Cupra 300 Estate and the maintenance is expensive majors expect around 1k at dealers per 40k miles. Have to expect these when buying high performance cars over standard ones unfortunately

Hi. Whats your mileage on this. Ive got a 18 plate gti performance 38k on it just had to change all mine front and rear. Wasnt a bad job and saved myself a fortune.
@Car Focused yeah my brakes sounded like yours similar milage. Fronts are easy backs are a little more fiddly due to electrictonic handbrake but nothing a odb reader can't sort..
I'm still driving a 2007 Mitsubishi colt CZ1 its only a 1.1 litre engine car but is a lot of fun to drive , had it 6 years and never had to do anything in over 50 thousand miles of driving , car is not on 130 thousand and the clutch has only just started slipping and its the original one , car cost me ÂŁ600 so top tip if you want a car you can drive for a few years and not worry about maintenance get an old colt ,BTW i had some cheeky person at the garage in his Mercedes say to me if you don't want to spend money fixing your car get a bus pass , I said to the guy mate i've probably saved more money in 6 years from not fixing the old car than you have had to spend every 3 months on that Mercedes lol He was not pleased. Nice video if you know anybody with a Costco card get your tires from there cheaper than most places. With 2mm being left on the fronts Iâm not going to bother swapping them now, Iâll just get another pair of new tyres and get them on next month, probably just before itâs MOTâŠ
Yeah, the parts for our fun cars, costs top dollar. Tires and brakes is normal wear and tear, but it is a bit early to replace the shocks. How many miles are on the car ?
Last person I would go to is dealers over something simple like brakes any garage can do it. If the garage didn't want to swap the tyres over I would else since the tires are legal
320 quid for 2 front tyres fitted? i wish mine was that cheap, got them done about 4 months ago cost me over 400 quid fitted, through black circles too but mine were ps4s
I would never buy a car with unmatched tyres. But tyres are a consumable and you always run best brand that OEM chassi team specced . Looks like that car had a hard life with previous keeper.
Not necessarily a hard life, could have been a puncture on one side at the rear and they went for a more modern continental. It was only a one previous owner car and was on 29k miles when I bought it.
@@CarFocused ha ha, now that I can relate too. I did my front discs and pads on my FR a few years back, it was quite straight forward. Good luck with the shocks.
I can't believe you are ranting about needing new tyres. Then new brakes. These are consumables, it is what it is, and you should expect these costs and save up a bit. I only sell car parts for a living, and run a tuned M140i easily. I'd bet mine costs more to run that yours ! The discs needing changing gives you a chance to upgrade to a better set up, same with the suspension.
My 290 is getting rears at the end of the month, ÂŁ350 for fitted oem. You have to use a mechanic for the rears due to the parking brake which is annoying.

Would the used approved warranty cover the shocks/dampners though? I would have thought that was classed under wear and tear. I can picture SEAT trying to wiggle out of honouring the warranty and instead saying the shocks are weeping due to the roads blah blah blah...
Iâd hope not as they sold me a car with weeping shocks, the MOT that the car came with has it stated on the advisory sheet. If they wonât sort it Iâll just sell it to Cazoo đ

Take the car somewhere they will change the pair, or swap the front and rear wheels yourself and then get the pair of tyres changed, also, change the brake disc's and pads yourself, easy job, why pay main dealer price for labour on a standard maintenance job that most people can do themselves. and use a tape measure to check the rear suspension issue you believe you have... good video but you can do a lot yourself...
Itâs not quite as simple as that doing the rear brakes as I think you need to code out the E parking brake or something. Itâs all done now anyway as this is an old video now đđ»

Oh dear. These cars can be expensive to run canât they! All part of the ownership experience I guess đ
Congrats on reaching 15k! đ„ł
Iâve recently had to replace the tyres on my FK8 Type RâŠ..black circles quote was ÂŁ294 per tyre for Michelin 4s!!! And now I have a nail in one that canât be repaired as it too close to the sidewall đ
Currently looking for smaller wheelsâŠ.
Thank you! Tyres are sooo expensive arenât they unless you have 18âs! đ©đ©
Good honest video mate. Certainly push the dealership to replace anything that's going faulty.
I feel your pain. I have the same car and last month was discs/pads all round and two front shocks...it was a sore one lol
Oh god everyone seems to be replacing shocks on these đđđ
Yea itâs nuts how much more 19âs are than 18âs. Both of my cars have the same size wheel too so itâs a double whammy for me đ
Congratulations on the 15k subs, Gary. Car maintenance is expensive, particularly with hot hatches isnât it? Thatâs one thing I donât miss when got shot of my S1.
Thank you! Oh it certainly is, thank god for warranty hey! Hope youâre well đ
@Car Focused all good thanks mate. My son has turned into a car modifying geek - who knew? đ
@@simontaylor3211 đđ good lad!!
Congrats on 15k, if the garage didn't wanna fit the fronts on the back just swap the wheels over, jack the car up and swap fronts for back if it isn't a staggered wheel setup which I don't believe it is
Thanks dude! It was more me just being lazy and trying to save time by not swapping them myself but just going to change all 4 now anyway.
I had MOT in March and all good ,however, i forgot about brake pads..Stealers did say rear brakes 75 % worn, and seems I need it done asap. Mileage just under 30 k for 18 plate. Thanks again for video . Hope things settle down once all done ,as going so well! all crossed !
Cheers pal!
I personally would've swapped the wheels round myself. Its a 20 min job on your drive. Also change the brakes yourself, its basic stuff.
@@CarFocused couple hours on a Sunday mate
Little bit trickier for a DIY job as it's an electric handbrake.
@@CarFocused each to their own,, but personality would never give my hard earned to garages to fit brakes. The charge a fortune for what essentially is no harder then a basic oil change.
I rotated my Subaru Outback tyres (same sides, back/font swap) a few weeks ago. Annoyingly it meant that my TPMS now reads the wrong way round!
@@CarFocused Yes, 100%. I know my cars tip top now (as much as it can be for >100kâŠ) đ I wouldnât have it any other way. I love it.
A miracle has apparently happened. đ
Congrats on the 15k! đ
đđ fortunately when it goes into SEAT they film their vehicle inspection and send it straight to you, so hopefully itâs all true haha. Plus I did have a look at them myself too. Thanks for watching đ
the shocks on these are designed to leak... as long as its not leaking down onto the spring its all fine
@@lwebb7 itâs leaking down to the bottom cup on both sides.
@@CarFocused thatâs annoying. If itâs leaking that far down then definitely get them changed on warranty
Best check your warranty terms, shocks can sometimes be wear n tear items. Shocks are 300 a side plus fitting
its still a fantastic car and one of my dream cars.
Hi mate, came across your channel and really like your insight. You come across well on camera too! I've been looking at the Estate version but I'm wondering if I'm being a little frivolous getting a thirsty motor.
Hi mate, thank you! The mpg isnât too bad on the cupras - my long term average is 30mpg and thatâs with hard driving thrown in!
I've had my shocks done from dealers under warranty and yeah they do offer 2 year cover for parts
Thanks for the letting us know this, i have had mine for a year and getting bills too. I see a lot of cupra mk3 owners any tips on getting the clutch replaced? Mines slipping đą
Is yours a manual? Iâm hearing the clutches are a bit weak on the manual cars.
@@CarFocused yeah it is always driven manual and couldn't bring myself to get the dsg. Yes I like to think my gear changes are pretty decent so blaming the clutch!
Mad costs for a hot hatch. Glad I ended up with a Alfa Romeo Giulia similar issue in terms of maintenance costs but one hell of a drive and people look wherever you go
Yeah, alfa and especially giulia is known for reliability and low repair costs :D
I read somewhere the DCC shocks on these do seem to wear out faster than non DCC. Mine had been done before I bought it around 40k miles
Interesting. Mine is at 40k now on the original shocksâŠ
My 2018 Leon fr all 4 injectors just went at 55k miles. I donât rag the car around either so that was a bit bizarre but itâs back running now. Love the car!
Ouch thatâs unfortunate!
Are you saying all 4 went at once? or replaced all 4
@@GARRYEASTON all four went at once.
Ouch! Porsche ownership is another level though I guess!
@@CarFocused I bought some silicone WD40 type spray, i did all the bushings / springs front and rear and after a couple of days I got the creaking to completely go away, might be worth a shot until the time comes to actually swap them out
Decent views on this video mate, well done!
Yea last few videos have done ok which is nice. Thanks mate!
Yeah thatâs good itâs worth playing for warranty and servicing. It does eat front brakes. Sick of the amount of brake dust on the alloys.
Thatâs why I got rid of mine as to many niggles and over priced and like you with your Mk3 RS it got me down. Still love my UG and my Seb Loeb GR is incredible. Great vid again and congrats
Thankfully itâs just maintenance and hopefully the suspension will be rectified under warranty should they discover a problem with it đ€đ»
You can get a tape measure to check the rear suspension. From the top of both arches to the ground.
Iâve done the finger test instead đ
â@@CarFocused I asked my missus if I could do the finger test and got a whack đ
Also Cambelt and waterpump are expensive to replace too
A lot of people having the same issues regarding the shocks misting up. Not good really!
Mental money isnât it. The diamond cut finish on mine is starting to oxidise in places too đ€ŠđŒââïž
@@CarFocused my front ps4s lasted about 9 months
I can't understand why the tyres are so expensive are the run flats or something? I got myself two 18" michelin PS4's from Camskill at 80quid a corner with a 24quid cashback offer for the mk2 ST.
Itâs the 19âs mate, theyâre a lot more expensive than 18âs đ€
Man with a plan. Glad you didnât buy cheap tyres for the car. Unfortunately it all adds up very quickly. Might be a broken spring on the rear. Any future plans to collaborate with Road and Face again?
I did have a look at the springs and they look ok but I guess it could be hidden in the cup. Neil is very busy being a Dad to two small children so itâs unlikely đą
Know the feeling man. Tyres for me are now upto ÂŁ160 a corner fitted not to mention ÂŁ200 for just front pads :/ lol
The things we sacrifice for our cars ey!đ
Just ait until you get the waterpump/housing problem!!! I've been through 2 Cupras. I went to BMW 340i
This is why i have my mk2 focus as a sunday car and sunny day car only and dont have a hot hatch as a daily, fuel, tax, servicing costs are just ridiculous đą
As a friend of my says - if u wanna play u gotta pay đ©
Yea thatâs why I went for this car as it has the 2 year warranty. When thatâs up in just over a year I might sell it on.
I might try the Continental sport contact 7 next time.
More likely the fitting of the tyre cause the mark, easy to get under it to check if the spring is broken..
I couldnât see any break on the springs and itâs a possibility it could have been from fitting. Iâm convinced that side is sitting lower thoughâŠ
Always put new tyres on the rear, to avoid lift off oversteer
I enjoy your videos đ Any update as regards a warranty claim?
Thanks! Iâll do an update video soon, possibly tomorrow đ
@@dohc123456789 surely they need to replaced in pairs?? Iâd be complaining about that!
The thing is, on boring cars, you resent spending. At least with this, you know it's for something fun to drive!
This is very true. Itâs quite satisfying having new tyres too!
@@CarFocused I can relate to that!

Iâve actually got those on the RS! Just wanted to keep all 4 corners the same. Do love the Michelins đđ»
Pilot Sport 5 are not as good as Sport Contact 7's. Sport Contact 7's are currently the best performance tyre you can buy, shortly followed my the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.
good tyre, they last 5 minutes tho so not worth the high price IMO.

320 quid for 2 front tyres fitted? i wish mine was that cheap, got them done about 4 months ago cost me over 400 quid fitted, through black circles too but mine were ps4s
Ouch! Check out ATS as theyâve had a Michelin promotion lately!
I got my 2017 seat leon fr from marshall cambridge too couple months ago
Have you used them for any aftercare? Iâve been using stoneacre and they are ok but will try Marshall for the next MOT / warranty inspection.
Not yet havent had too but i got a servicing plan so anything that they pick up on mot ill just try claim under warranty
@@CarFocused i would try marshalls Cambridge since you got the car from there
Yeah sod that we got all 4 done at the same time. Pilot Sport 4S is the choice of most.
If Iâd have know I was going to end up doing all 4 I would have gone for PS4 S all round for sure.
Iâve seen you do tougher jobs than changing your discs and pads mate, they arenât too hard to fit yourself đ
I know mate but itâs more that I canât be assed đđ I do more hands on bits with the RS đ
Itâs just unfortunate timing of maintenance issues but just thought Iâd share how when they fall at the same time the costs can certainly add up.
My 290 is getting rears at the end of the month, ÂŁ350 for fitted oem. You have to use a mechanic for the rears due to the parking brake which is annoying.
Mine is booked in now for MOT and brake fitting. The MOT if free but think the labour for the brakes will be ÂŁ100âŠ
What's the mileage?
40k
Lucky not to have a 4 drive version. Wait until to have the dsg fluid change!
How much?
400 i think for service of dsg.
Is this a good first car
No lol
got my 300 cupra last year its at 50k now and it needs brakes 2 tries and its sounds like it needs a wheel bearing đand probably spark pugs too and iam skint lol
Haha yes sucks when it all falls at once! I thought I needed a wheel bearing but it was a rear tyre that was out of shape. Noise has gone now one changed them đđ»
@@CarFocused my car had the oil leaking shocks too before I got it luckily đ„¶ it's on its mot file must be a common problem
Just out of interest, how many miles has the Cupra covered?
Itâs on 40k miles now mate
@Car Focused Hmm, so nothing completely unexpected then (especially considering the state of the UK's roads!) Still annoying that they've all come together however. Feel your pain...
@@moonchild666 this is the reason for the little rant, just unfortunate how itâs come at once. Mate the UK roads are an absolute joke, Iâm surprised Iâve managed to avoid bending a wheel on the ludicrous amount of pot holes about đ
Go on autodoc for brakes, and do it yourself. Tyre wise not much you can do but swap the front to rear yourself.
If the fronts had more tread on Iâd swap them over but Iâm not really sure itâs worth it now thinking about it, so Iâll just chuck another set on so all four are new.
You could get a massive turbo, ECU and engine forged for the cost of that motor... đ€
I could sell both cars and buy an M2 compâŠđ
Would the used approved warranty cover the shocks/dampners though? I would have thought that was classed under wear and tear.
I can picture SEAT trying to wiggle out of honouring the warranty and instead saying the shocks are weeping due to the roads blah blah blah...
Iâd hope not as they sold me a car with weeping shocks, the MOT that the car came with has it stated on the advisory sheet. If they wonât sort it Iâll just sell it to Cazoo đ
@@MC-kk1wt in all honesty itâs been a great car, which Iâve really enjoyed owning. Hopefully if any suspension issues are identified they can be sorted without too much hassle. Havenât noticed any rattle on mine, the engine seems pretty sweet đđ»
Great content btw keep it up love the channel no bull just honest mate đ
Thanks mate!đ
Don't bother with SEAT theyre too expensive, unless its warranty work. I take mine to a independent VW specialist and they're way cheaper!!!
Your good for it đđ”đ”đ”đ”đ”
Uprated fuel pump money!đ
Take the car somewhere they will change the pair, or swap the front and rear wheels yourself and then get the pair of tyres changed, also, change the brake disc's and pads yourself, easy job, why pay main dealer price for labour on a standard maintenance job that most people can do themselves. and use a tape measure to check the rear suspension issue you believe you have... good video but you can do a lot yourself...
Itâs not quite as simple as that doing the rear brakes as I think you need to code out the E parking brake or something. Itâs all done now anyway as this is an old video now đđ»
