    Since you're right-handed, try using the rail on your left side so that you lean into the cut rather than away from it. Obviously, for left-handed users, the rail should be on the right (as shown in your video). However, jigsaws aren't designed for straight cuts and rips. A table saw or track saw would be far more quicker and cleaner... and a good reason to buy more tools. :)

      Thanks for the comment! Yes, I have learned "the hard way" what the jig-saw is good for and not good for. great fun :)

      Thanks for your kind feed back! I learn as I go :). At least I am glad you could still find value in this video. Good luck with your purchase of a tool that suits your needs :)

    The orbital feature allows you to cut much faster in straight cuts. It tends to cause tear out on cross cuts, so beware. Cutting curves will cause you to turn off the orbital feature. I’m not sure about the on off switch position though. Cheers.

      Thanks for your feed back! Yes, I am learning about the orbital feature. Thanks for explaining how it should be used!

    *I've had some time🌗 **allabout.wiki/DJV181Z** to get used to using the saw now and I think its a good one. It feels very solid and well made - great Bosch quality. I like the settings it has for the eliptical blade movement and blowing dust out of the blade path. The quick blade change lever is easy to use but wont be accidentally bumped. I feel that this is a tool that will last me many years. I was considering the next model up to get the additional blade stabilization, but I think most of the blade flex happens below the foot of the saw anyway were there cant be any support. I think usage technique can make up for most blade flex and you also have to realize that this is a fact of life with a jigsaw and use it accordingly.*

    I noticed that during the first cut you were blowing the sawdust away by yourself. Does the tool not have the blower function built in?

    • @kjell-olovhogdahl6557
      @kjell-olovhogdahl6557  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for asking! The tool comes with an optional dust collector that sucks dust from the cut area. But I have not used it much as it requires a separate vacuum and the "sucking power" is limited. I suppose you could modify it to blow instead but I have not tried that. So, No, it does not come with a blower function. I which you good luck with finding a saw that suits your needs :)

      Thanks for your feed back :). Yes, I was really fumbling around here. But youtube is full of rehearsed tutorials so I thought it could potentially be educational to watch what really happens the first time someone like me uses a new tool with no experience to help. Or maybe not ;). Take care!

    Är du nöjd med sågen? Är den klumpig att hålla i? Lite sugen på samma

    • @kjell-olovhogdahl6557
      @kjell-olovhogdahl6557  Před 5 lety

      Ja, den är lite klumpig att hålla och såga "rättvänd" (sågbladet neråt). Men när jag köpte den hade Makita ingen borstlös "med handtag". Dom kanske har det nu? I vart fall, det är fortfarande en bra såg. Och jag tror den är utmärkt när man behöver såga underifrån.
      Yes, it is a bit awkward to hold and use "the right way" (with the blade plunging). But when I bought it Makita had no brushless model with a "handle". Maybe they have now? Anyhow, it is still a good saw. And I think it is excellent when you need to saw from underneath.

    Just use a circular for long straight cuts. Jigsaws usually drift with a guide except for very short cuts.

      @@kjell-olovhogdahl6557 you CAN cut straight lines with it but use a fence (wood metal) and play witht he speeds untill you get a straight cut. I placed my dewalt in a speed 4 (out of 6 speeds) and got a decent straight cut

      Thanks for your feed back :). Yes, you are probably correct. Still, it amuses me to publish anti-expert and unpolished user experience videos and see how viewers react on them :). it humbles me and I get surprisingly may that sympathise. Also, I have upped my game since. Now if this enough for me to use these tools I am not sure of. I find hand tools are underrated and safer to use ;). Good luck with using your own tools. Take care :)

      Haha - Wot, You don't like my artistic touch? Well, to be honest - My iPhone got confused and I did not have time to figure out how to rotate the angle in post. I'll do better in future videos! The jig-saw works in any angle though :)

      You can get a straight line even with a fence attached, med/highish. speed less effort pushing let the tool do the work and better off using the vacuum attachment so you can see properly and less dust. I have used jig saws for years so i suppose practice is key for good results. i love this tool best of the rest in my book.

    • @MrMusashiMusashi
      @MrMusashiMusashi Před 4 lety +2

      I disagree. A "big fail" is when you try nothing in life at all. I can sit at home and criticize that a silver medalist didn't win gold, but it would be a waste since I've got nothing.
      Even if he made a mistake he's helped those that may have made that same mistake.
      I appreciate the review and showcase Kjell. Thank you for creating content :)

      Just got my jig saw ( a Christmas prez to myself) and a novice to woodworking. Thank you for showing your mistakes- very helpful. Got to start somewhere/ somehow. Husband usual does the fixings but it’s time for me to learn. Professionals and even husband don’t want to show/ share how to use the tool and the mistakes. So, I very much appreciate this video. Mahalo!
