The basement is the only place I would leave the carpet. The wood paneling in the basement is actually very nice pine. You could paint that white and it would be cheap and brighten up the whole basement. Putting in central air could be very expensive if new ductwork is needed, if so you should consider installing mini splits instead. That house has good bones. Good on you for having the vision for what it could be. It probably sat so long without offers because of being cosmetically outdated and most home shoppers don’t have any vision for what a home could become with a little bit of updating. I would have kept the saltillo tile in just the entryway because it i classic and will last forever and that area will get a lot of wear and tear.

I’m currently renting a house on 90acres while I still seek something of my own. I found my place in one of those free County newspapers, so try one of those in your area. More important than that keep praying and live out your Faith. What I mean by that is maybe “consider” packing up everything that you immediately don’t need in preparation to move. There are so many testimonies of people who did so and the Lord saw there Faith in action and blessed them, but again I’m only saying “consider” this method. I was also blessed by some of the “Out of the Cities” videos from Living Manna Ministries here on CZcams. Anyway, God Bless you on your journey to draw closer to the Lord.

And I love seeing the improvements. Symone, what you did to update the guest room was very impressive. My granddaughter came into the room, saw you on the screen. This home may have been built in the 70’s but it is very well maintained! I live in Long Island, New York ( suburbs) and most of the homes was built after WWII! In fact Levittown , NY (2 miles from me), is the first suburb built in the United States for WWII veterans after the war who used their Gi loans to purchase the home (except black/ Jewish veterans, the homes had racist covenants preventing them from buying these homes). My cape of home was built 80 years ago and these homes were built well! So her new home is actually a younger house compared to mine. So this couple and myself are blessed that our ancestors made it possible for us to even live in these areas today! 😊❤️

Most likely they are senior citizens & needed to downsize! That’s a large property to upkeep for an older couple. I’m sure they enjoyed it & it was in “style” a few decades ago! 😅😂They took good care of the property & it has great bone’s & potential! Too many first time buyers don’t see past the aesthetics & don’t do like our parents back in the day! They upgraded little by little until the place was up to their personal preference. The home is very nice and they will have many years of enjoyment and happiness! Very spacious home & large beautiful lake / outdoor space! I love it and wish this sweet couple well & many blessings! 😊💗🙏🏾
Congrats! I wish I would have seen this sooner. Please pray over your house (which I believe you did), but wear a mask and gloves when removing the carpet. Also, cover the baby. Last, us Clorox or disinfect every thing from ceiling to floor to knobs and every shelf. COVID is still here.

There are many options to buy property that can be used and classified as farming/arigculture .add that with a motivated seller & and financing options. Also add the going off grid movement. Several have posted YT stories/how-tos a little before & during the pandemic. Like they said, do your research.
