Yes! another D4D video ✊ I was just rewatching some of your old stuff last night
Glad you're still enjoying it Fam
Enjoying the content! Love your filmmaking tips and tricks and gear reviews. Keep it up!
Missed you’re content bro, you definitely helped put inspiration me in my career when I was growing up when I had little to no gear! Never stop being creative !
Keep hustling Kieran! Keep going.
Thank you for this excellent review. It helped decide which lens to get first. For us, it will be the 24mm to shoot our indie feature. Keep up the good work.
Here is another fan bro.
I've been following you since the past 2.5 years and you are the reason I started shifting from photos to videos and finally starting my youtube channel.
Thanks dude and good luck with your future Films. I will always watch them :)
Love the channel! Thank you for all you do for the film community!
Thank you for commenting Hayden. Appreciate that Brutha.
Just wanted to correct something about your field of view comparison. Even though it is a 24mm, the fact it squeezes on the horizontal means it actually wider than 24mm. The math is 24 ÷ 1.33 = 18mm wide. Multiply that by 2 for Micro Four Thirds crop and the field of view acts like a 36mm.
FINALLY... people can shoot endless slow mo camera tests with their girlfriends in anamorphic and not ever make a real film.
Your comment is on point! LMAO.. I appreciate those videos to compare lenses and at the same time it sucks how little creativity most camera gear youtubers have.
CAUSE EVERYONE IS ABOUT TO MAKE A CINEMATIC LOOK WITH NO CINEMATIC CONTENT IN IT XD))))
Why do I feel so triggered by this, hahaha
DAMN YOU GUYS TALKING LIKE YOUR DOING SOMETHING DIF THEN HIM ? WHY THE HATE ?
Bro you got the most gear when is your films hitting the theaters? If you had one you wouldn't be on here hating
I am happy that someone finally released “affordable” anamorphic lenses
$999 Affordable
Well a cinema pl anamorphic is 57k so compared to that these lens are cheap
@@philipwyers it's still "doable"
@@philipwyers You can rent them for around $50/week.
I have mine on order, can't wait to try it out.
This dude can make a great movie with a Canon 60d.
Damn I had for my first camera and tbh you can make a great movie with any camera. As long as it’s 1920x1080 lol.
Can’t wait to see this one!
I'm eleven and already know what I want
to be when I grow up chase of this guy
(Its a filmmaker)😀
Even at 11, you can start now.
Nice love the video been watching for years.
This is Amazing 🙏🏿💫
Glad to see you back bro
loving the red background light especially being coordinated with the color of the hat
Great video. Been really looking forward to this lens. Mine gets here in two days!!
T.Vision. what's good Brutha! You'll dig it.
@@D4Darious I am sure I will!
Great Review!
Hey man! Glad that you've released another video. I have a question. I saw a very good Japanese film today called 'Harakiri', and throughout the whole film, whenever the camera moves (eg.pan), there is some slight distortion in the edges of the frame, making things squished. Similarly, in the middle of the frame, it has a slightly distorted effect as well. Is this a specific type of lens? Just wondering. Thanks!
Thanks d4! Could you possibly do a video with your thoughts on phone camera filmmaking? Love what you do fam
I don't do much cell phone film work. We'll see.
"Small tweaks make big peaks." Love it and thanks.
Yo, another awesome video man! Clicked right away. Keep up the good work, and do not worry :)))
Thank you Alex!
3:46 I think 24mm anamorphic on MFT is not like a 50mm but a 35mm (its not 2x for anamorphic crop factor). The 35 will be a 50mm
Woah I want one!
Very helpful tutorial Sir
Nice upload 👍🏼
Good video I have the Lumix G7 I would please like a video on the settings you use on your G7
woah, a video
Most engaging cinematographer on youtube
Dude I just just bought my first film camera Lumix G7. Could you please make a video detailing your cinematic/film settings. Thanks
Love a new video
Hi, so for super 35 would you recommend the Sirui 50mm Anamorphic? I’m interested in purchasing the BMPCC 6K Pro later this year.
I have a SonyA7II would this look good ? And should I buy the DZO 20-55 or the Siriu , I can only afford one lens to start.? Thanka
Hey. Men. Thank you. Your a inspiration
Thanks for your
I like you man, you're the filmmaker friend I wish I had to motivate me.
The one thing that is missing is the the fallow focus gear rings on the lens
Peace!
I offer blessings.
I need some guidance/recommendation...variable ND or pro mist 1/4 or both...if both which one should get (or already have lol)?
I appreciate your time, attention to detail and how you keep it simple. Showing and proofing it's about the desire and commitment of the person that accomplish ones goals. Also you actually use the products you speak about!
Shine on Sun!!!! Shine on!!!!
Peace
It looks good
Love those graphics
Thank you.
Hey @D4Darious & community, could you help me out, I shoot a lot of actions sports on MFT. Do you think the Sirui 24mm is capable of capturing action sports or is it too narrow? I'm very proximate to the athletes to capture action and kinetic energy. With 12mm lense I feel comfortable and "wide" enough. I'm worried that the Sirui 24mm is too "punched in" ... Would love to here your thoughts!
What camera do you use D4Darious?
Just found your channel. I have a Sirui on my Lumix G7. I thought I was crazy for liking this setup so much, but perhaps I'm not so crazy after all.
Have you tried it with sony a 7 s iii?
I hope you try the Bmpcc 4k bro.
Nice video ! you prefer the 24mm or 50mm ? i like 50mm ! Same price ? thanks
Small tweaks make big peaks. Dope!
Since you mention the flare color is there such a thing as a post optical color gels, something that goes between the lens and the sensor?
I don't think so.
Could you please make a video on how you would have done things Akira kurosawa did?
What you said about field of view was maybe incomplete for those who don’t really know much about anamorphic. The 24mm is about the same FOV as the 50mm shouting 16:9 video on a FF camera in the vertical but is about the same as a 35 mm in the horizontal after desqueezing. It is kind of a 2 focal length lens. In the vertical it is the stated FL, In the horizontal it is the stated FL times 0.75 for a 1.33 squeeze and for a 2 squeeze it is times 0.5
hello i am looking for help from anyone possible. I wrote a short film and am planning the shots. this is my second film. the first one however was silent. I realized the dialogue scenes i have designed are going to be more difficult to record than i thought. There is one scene where they walk around the kitchen talking and there are some close ups. I read that with each different camera angle there is a new take in which the scene is played through again (i have only one camera) I tried a test today and I found it very difficult. My question is about the audio. Can someone tell me how to mix audio from different takes. Is only one audio. recording used? is it a mixture of all the audio takes? Note i only have a cheap alvoxvon lovelier kit. Is there any suggestions on new gear. And lastly how is the audio used in dialogue. I’ve tried learning l and j cuts but i can’t get anything to sync. thanks you so much
What do you think about Bmpcc4k ?
01:25 "these guys have been a SIRUIous disruptor....."
wooaahh...
what's the song at the start?
Actually a 25 spherical would be closer to the HORIZONTAL field of view of the 35. Because it is an anamorphic lens it squeezes the horizontal FOV by 1.33 so it would be more of a (35/1.33) 26mm.
Hi Darious, I am looking for a cinematic camera under £500 and don’t know whether I should get the Sony a6300, Canon M50 or the Lumix gh4.
The canon m50 can take great footage is lightweight and is also userfriendly.
The Sony seems to be really hard to setup.
Both cameras have great autofocus. I believe Potato Jet has a review on them
This video has my iPhone going crazy every time you say sirui
I really like the 35mm and am filming with it. Not too interested in the others.
We need simple cheap anamorphic lenses like this, but FF :((
Anamorphic is sooo soooo soooooooooo much better on FullFrame
But why? APS-C is closer to the classic anamorphic look that most people are used to/expect. I think it looks spectacular.
@@KyleFosse the thing is. if i go through the hassle of recording something squeezed, i want those desqueezed bokehs in the background. you wont get that on a smaller sensor, thus making it useless for me, specially as i (Like most filmmakers nowadays) own a FullFrame Camera.
@@SamMasghati I'm not an expert in anamorphic, but doesn't the bokeh shape have more to do with the lens design than the sensor size? Because this is a 1.33 squeeze lens, it produces fairly oval bokeh, while still retaining some signature anamorphic elements. Some lenses produce swirly oval bokeh on even smaller mft sensors, like in the video linked below. Again, the desqueezed bokeh that we associate with anamorphic is usually shot on "crop sensors" anyways. To my knowledge, the sensor size isn't the limiting factor.

The "nifty 25"??? Oh yeah, Micro 4/3 realm. So used to hearing the nifty 50. Those lenses look legit. Gonna have to throw the a7iii on aps-c mode and try them out!
Sweet little puppy that lens ;)
👌 on the don't go ham on the flaring cause it's distracting.
nice
you were on my ela assignment
His CZcams Channel pretty much sums up what he does irl. When you're making your own film, you will not have no where near as much as time to work on CZcams than you would originally.
Yo, whats the name of your movie so I can check it out
I filmed a short film for my exam and I was editing by movavi video editor I didn't know that it puts a watermark on video if you use 7 day free version my exam is tomorrow please help me to remove that 🙏😔
just torrent Adobe Premiere Pro
Which camera are you using with the lens?
Bmpcc4k

I'm a new film maker and I want to know it it's possible to be new in film as a teen and make films all by yourself. Can u help?
Yes. Absolutely. But you'll need to learn as much as you can ;)
the budget cine lens choices keep getting harder. Now a decent Anamorphic set, DZO primes and zooms.
It is time for me to get some good glass after I get my recorder.
Even though I don't really need to know anything else about this lens, that thumbnail is too good. Plus it's D4
🌹🌹🌹
The vazen is awesome to but insane expensive
24 has blur bokeh?
Just FYI 24mm on apsc is closer to a 35mm on full frame. 50mm on apsc closer to 75mm.
I’m gonna have to set the record straight on the whole 25mm lens thing. It’s not the field of
view that matches the human eye but more the perspective distortion. And on that it’s actually not quite true. A lot cinematographers have come to the conclusion that 25mm is actually a bit too long and more of a wide portrait lens. You probably want to go for something like a 20 or 21mm for a real do it all lens. That’s only for spherical tho, anamorphic 25 or 24mm with a 1.33x squeeze is pretty spot on.
What about the crop factor for these lenses on mft sensor? How does that affect these anamorphic lenses in terms of being useful as a do it all lens? On mft do I want something like 8mm if it’s not anamorphic? Thoughts on anamorphic and non anamorphic focal lengths on mft sensor for shooting 2.39?
More streaks than the back inside of my boxers.
Using speed boosters for Micro 4/3 would increase the feild of view and f stop.. yes no?
I don't understand that hype about Sirui anamorphic lens. Where is the main attribute of anamorphic view - the vertical background stretch / oval bokeh? You can crop anamophic image to 1:1 ratio and it still have all anamorphic features: bokeh, light streak.
Finally....
Just need an 8mm and 14mm mft then I can start to purchas
1:25 These guys have been a SIRUI-ous disruptor in the anamorphic lens market. Sorry, I had to.
Nice Thumbnail
I'm a little leery about spending money for a lens that will go full JJ Abrams level of flare without intending to.
Bro you almost had me with red hat
HII BRO I AM FROM INDIA .I NEED A SMALL HELP FROM U.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Damn, no L-mount
You good?
Thought it was a wookie at the beginning
If you don’t mind, how much Money do you have invested in equipment? . Starting CZcams channel on botanicals, it’s historic use/ value, etc... I’m focusing (Pun intended) on a low budget setup. iPad Pro 2021 . New Sony ZV-1 vlogging camera, Sony Bluetooth shooting grip, Mavic drone. Rode Wireless Go Mic’s. Luma Fusion for editing but still on fence due TO learning curve with Lumina. May look for something else. I’m done. Wait I have a few go pro cameras as well I can pull off my motorcycle .. my , iPhone 12 max for b roll. Then I see your setup. 👍. Am I good or missing something.? I still have a day job. IDK, maybe I’ll just hire someone full-time to follow me around.
999 affordable
