Silent electric Ensign Hybrid Volvo B5LH passes by with engine stopped

30 December 2012 saw the very first work by a Hybrid Electric Volvo B5LH/Wright Gemini 2 to Leigh-on-Sea, the occasion being rail replacement work for c2c by Ensignbus.
Brand new Volvo 501 (EU62 BSV) successfully completed a full day working on this quite arduous schedule, with long, sustained hill-climbs on eastbound journeys and fast running on the A13.
Here, after a 20min stand at Pitsea Station in the area reserved for buses on rail replacement, the Hybrid moves off and leaves the car park area wholly in electric mode, its engine cutting in as it is fully on the road outside.
