    Fantastic review and I agree with you on the sitting position that puts a strain on the lower back, possibly due to the fact that your legs are extended and raised. The Harley fat bob has a similar seating position and I felt it to be provoking my lumbar. Excited to see the customization especially, on that hideous exhaust!

      Agreed, I have an ‘18 bobber and was always taught that it’s 70% rear 30% front and 8,000 miles later I’m still braking just fine.

    • @josephparry
      @josephparry Před 3 lety +2

      @@WxMcGee66 that makes absolutely no sense, when you brake you are slowing down, when you slow down the weight of the bike is thrown forwards and therefore,the front tyre has the most grip,and the rear has the least. By braking with the rear first you are seriously impacting how quickly you can stop, it should be the complete opposite of what you’re doing. 70% front (the weight shifts forwards and the forks under load now push the tyre harder into the ground and makes you stop even harder, you then add the rear in as the weight distribution starts to relax and more weight gets added to the back again (this happens as you slow,down after the initial lurch forwards).
      Every time I’ve heard people braking with the rear more than the front I feel like they’ve been taught to brake by people who are afraid of flying over the handlebars. In slow movement dragging the rear brake it super valid though!

    Hey Albe! Nice review! Very accurate assessment of the Bobber. I've been meaning to make mine a little sportier starting with better suspension because some of those highway speed bumps lift me right off the seat or shatter my tail bone.
    Is it a waste to get a pair of those Progressive Suspension 970 Series or Ohlins STX36 Twin Rear piggyback shocks?
    I'm trying not to mess with the bike's handling stability too much. I just want a little bit more lean angle/ground clearance and reliable suspension so tight cornering at speed isn't so sketchy.

    • @AlbesADV
      @AlbesADV  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Enrique, truth is ohlins is always a great choice, if you can afford it, that is the way to go. I believe that changing the springs or shocks to make the bike more complient is ok, but raising lowering or in general changing the motorcycle geometry it's usually not a good idea. So, progressive springs, good, ohlins suspension components, even better 👍

    Just subbed! very nice review of the bobber.. looks fantastic, i am thinking of test riding this beautiful piece of machinery soon. Love the way it looks but i have to see how she handles for my self.. as for the lower back problem wouldn't changing the saddle help with that? by the way I'm curious to know how tall you are.. I'm 6' 2" and although I have never sat on the bobber I feel I might be a little tall for it? looking forward to your reply and future videos :)

      Welcome to the channel, I agree with, the bike looks fantastic, I just installed an aftermarket exhaust on it and it looks even better, video coming out soon. I'm 6'2" as well, I believe it's not the seat but the riding position, you are folded over pretty good, but we all have to compromise, the owner loves it and it wouldn't change it for anything even if it means to have to go get a lower back massage after every ride.
