I'm up for the 15,000 mile service, which includes a new air cleaner. I'd rather spend $300 to get a bike jack and a Trask cleaner than pay labor charges. This showed me just how simple the job really is.
Your absolutely right get the tools and learn on CZcams. Then next time or next bike you will already have tools for the job.
I used your video to guide me through the install on a 2023 Rogue. Process was virtually the same. I had a syndicate seat so there were just a few more bolts at the rear fender that needed to be removed to remove the seat.
The fuel line was in a slightly different position but everything else was exactly the same.
I didn’t use a stand and the frame bolts and nuts went in as smoothly as they came off.
I can’t afford a 2-1 exhaust so I went ahead and drilled out the baffles.
I did retune using PV3 which is still supported in newer model Scouts.
Thanks again for a great video!
Thank you for making such professional videos!!! And let us make the Bobber community grow ;) Cheers from Germany
This was enlightening. Videos I have seen where people had a hard time, they weren't even doing it right. I'm glad I watched this video for future reference. Thank's for another great video.
Awesome video by far the best one I have seen great job, very detailed 👍👍
Great instructional video. So clear and easy to follow, well done.
Great video…. I followed this and have installed the air filter with no problems!
Just got to get the tank back on now.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Just to make things much easier, I removed the fuel line just like in this video, but broke the connector up by the tank as i was trying to snake it around the frame and other lines. The elbow on the connector is very delicate, and cost me $70 to replace. I've found that it is much easier (and cheaper) to remove the fuel line at the tank, which is right next to the fuel pump electrical connector. There is more room and the connector is bigger, so it makes it easier for people like me with fat fingers, to get the lines loose.
Great Video Pisano.. Gettin ready to install my S&S stealthtwo and do a 3500 mile oil change on my 2018 Indian scout BoBBer...was going to take it to the shop, but these videos here on CZcams makes it easy to DiY...Ridea Safea 👍🏽
Great video! Indian makes an insane design...
Love your video man. I'm thinking of getting this bike soon.
Able this video is so good! Thank you very much for taking the time to make this.
Yassss thank you! I gotta get my garage as clean as yours now too haha. Thanks for the simple video
Lol, my garage stays clean about a week at a time, then I start piling up stuff and have to go full maid cause I can't move around anymore 🙃 😅
great video and instructions!
I got that s&s on my sixty. Does what it says. Good shit.
Great vid
Outstanding
Awesome video! Makes it look easy...I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet this guy is Italian 🤣👍
Best video =)
Nice video thanks
Took 30 mins to do. Easy easy
Hi,nice video man:) should i push it above ground or just suport it under the frame whit woodboard and a jack ?
Just support it, if you are really careful you can do it on the side stand 👍
I wish you would have done a clip of the idle and rev before and after the instal. Good job a non the less.
Do not over torque the 13 MM frame bolt! I sheared mine off easily. Had to drill it out.
Great video mate, I'm thinking of installing the S&S air filter on my 2021 Scout Bobber. I'm also considering the power commander unit, what I would like to know is how easy is it to reprogram the unit if you say add non standard cams.
Does it need to be removed, or is there a port available to use?
There is a port available, but if you change cams, I would recommend dyno tuning for the best possible result
Great Video, very clear!!! It's necessary to drain the fuel tank?? Or it's possible to be removed without draining it? Thanks!!
It's best and easier if you drain it, but because my fuel jug was already full I had no place to empty it in, so I had to do it with fuel in it.
What do you recommend: S&S, Trask, or K&N? Thanks again!
@@AlbesADV
The S&S went in easy and it's been working great, I absolutely recommend it. K&N is always reliable but I haven't used it for this application and the trask I haven't really used.
Reminds me of my Mustang. You just can’t get into a component without another one blocking it. ü
Thank you for the great video! I've installed V&H 3" twin slash cut mufflers and it feel that i have less power. What do you recommend? Air filter and power commander change? HELP
Do you have the specific item number or link for the S&S Air filter as well as the power commander please?@@AlbesADV
Look down in the description, there should be links, I would double check the power commander and make sure is specific for the scout.
Anyone know what I need to clean this air filter? and at what mileage
Cool video man , where did u get that indian plate on the side of the bike ?
Awesome video. Any reason in particular why you chose the S&S? Just curious
The owner wanted the grenades exhaust, filter and fuel injection module, I just chose the parts that would work the best together, to work in unison with the grenades exhaust, that’s it.
What tail-pieces do you have on your exhaust and are they loud ? Have a 2019 with the stock Stage 1 Torpedos and looking for a throatier sound. Also, where'd you get that Beautiful Indian Head cover plate ?
Hi Brett, It's the grenades, they have a nice throaty sound, I don't think it's too loud. There is a link in one of the comments for the Indian head cover. It's not my bike I just worked on it
Two part question:
1) Would it make a difference if I installed aftermarket air filter *without* an aftermarket exhaust?
2) Would it make sense to install the aftermarket air filter and tune with Dyno Power Vision 4 *without* an aftermarket exhaust?
Hi,
1 the bike will breath a little better but no noticeable increase in power.
2 a good tune can improve even a stock bike, therefore the bike might feel a little better even with the stock exhaust
What did you use to prop up the bike? Is it just on the stand you used? Thanks for the video, very informative.
Albe...local dealer states they had an issue with oil leaking over the engine?Maybe a connector came loose?
Hi. I have and indian scout 1133 abs 2017. AIR filter K&N. I would install kurayakyn Crusher Maverick exhaust. I have to remap The ECU?
Every exhaust has different requirements, a good rule of thumb is if it's a full exhaust (from headers to silencer) it needs a tune to run properly, if it eliminates the O2 sensor, it definitely needs a tune. So I would say yes,but to be 100% sure you need to refer to what the manufacturer says
my motorcycle is an indian scout rouge 2022 which air filter do you recommend to improve the power and sound of the exhausts, thanks
Question: I see the original air was filtered by the top filter….how was the air from the front huge hole in the frame filtered? Or what was that even for?
The old air box had a baffle that directed the air coming from the front to the top and then down through the filter. The new filter eliminates the air box altogether and filters air from all sides, so is the same as a conical filter for a car
Well, i can't see what the benefit is to this air filter system..... I mean the filter element, yes but, this system removes the cold air induction.... Couldn't they come up with a system that uses that style of the filter element and kept the cold air induction????? Just my two cents..... Still, this is a very good video on the installation.....
Great video but it looks like a great pain in the ass to get to the air filter! HD Sportsters, way easier to get to lol
Hi, after what time and how do you clean this filter? Just rinse it under water and let it dry or is a filter cleaner needed and oiled afterwards?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Taylan, it's going to be filter cleaner and oil just like the K&N or BMC, as far as how often, it all depends where you ride usually every 3000 to 4000 miles, less of you ride in dusty places
@@AlbesADV thanks for the fast response. So i can just buy a k&n cleaner/oil set and use it? Wont damage anything
I believe so, but you might want to take a look at their website just in case 👍
Who will start this after installing?
does it make any improvements? any dyno run before and after??
With all 3 mods I've done to this bike you can definitely feel the difference but no dyno run on it sorry
My wife is French Italian, she calls me Steva
what is wrong with the stock one or what is the difference, please help
...maybe next time drain the tank before you reinstall if you havent done that before uninstalling lol
Bro can i use another oil on my indian scout like the Liqui Moly or Motul 10W-60????
I would use any brand as long as it's synthetic and the recommended weight, like the 15w-60 whenever possible unless you ride in extreme conditions like very cold or very hot weather
You forgot to show us what the new installed filter looked like on the other side of the fuel tank.
The filter looks exactly the same on both sides, it's in the middle of the bike and since I removed just the right side frame even if I filmed the left side the filter would be partially covered by the frame.
When the tank is on the filter is not visible.
Happy new year 🎉
Next I would like to see up close instructions...
this is youtube so you have to put two turbos or a LS swap on it!!!
This just seems like a poor design by Indian to have the air filter placed underneath the tank .
Why make it so difficult to replace ?
How about a more conventional side mounted air filter.
Maybe future models will have an improved system which I’m sure the engineers can figure out without impacting performance if not improving it.
Very good video - very helpful for my install. One thing you should mention is that you *don't* need to jack your bike up for this. If you were moving both frame rails, you would, but for this install where you only remove one side, you do not. It may scare people off from doing this if they feel they need to jack their bike up.
I'll pin you to the top, thanks for the tip 👍
Dude.. thank you, I've been stressing about this. I was going to try to jack my bike with a scissor jack and wood. Maybe I can be more confident without all that now
I would probably stabilise the bike anyway just for piece of mind.
