Cool bike! I've never rode a automatic motorcycle, I need to try one of these bikes. A bit hefty tho but it is a cruiser. Great video! 👍
Thanks for watching CC! The auto shifting definitely takes some getting used to.
Gotta be honest I really like this. Hell for the price you can't go wrong. The Honda 1100 DCT, everytime I looked at a video it was the 1000 T.. Seriously man I like the DCT 👍
Thanks for watching!
I have been riding the dct for 3 years nowand personally I would switch to a clutch bike soon enough. Rebel 1100 is not comfortable enough for me and while there are changes that you an make to the bike, you are still limited as there is no aftermarket support. The issue with dct is that when you are riding if you pull the accelerator, the bike goes but as soon as you come down on the gas there is huge engine breaking in the bike, with a clutch bike this happens when you downshift however, you can control the engine breaking by holding the clutch. Also I find that taking left turns on dct is very jarring as well. This bike is powerful and although I take it easy on left turns, the bike automatically upshifts midturn which at times stalls the bike for a fraction of a second. Since there is no clutch you cannot just feather the clutch and make your turn. Also engine breaking mid turn is fucking scary to be honest. I dont think I will keep the dct, its nice to be able to ride with one hand but this bike is better suited for long highway rides but its too uncomfortable for that purpose. I dont know, just my 2 cents.
@@gsin311. So why did you keep it for 3 years. I know people who have these bikes and not the problems you have.
The best review!! I just got my 1100 a mobth ago and i love it!!
Ride safe and thank you for watching!
Nice review. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
I love mine. First bike and its been a dream.
Big bike for a new rider, please be safe!
@rl8073 Thank you. You answered my question lol. I was curious if this is too big for a beginner
Great info thanks. I did get my 2023 Rebel1100T DCT in Dec. I've ridden it a few times when the weather was nice. I do love it. It took me a little time to get use to the bike doing it's own thing, That might be "control issues" on my part.... But when I went out and just relaxed it was great. plenty of get up and go. I can't wait for the weather to get nice again and get out and ride. So happy I went with the rebel.. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching! It indeed is a great bike. Ride safe.
How did you find it in slow crawling traffic and hill starts. As my arthritis in hand gets worse this bike sounds a good option for me.
Great review. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Ive only seen the grey color in reviews super nice to see the blue on the road! Love the color. Appreciate the review!
Thanks for Watching! The blue does POP really well in person.
I appreciate Honda nerd talk ❤️
Good job
Thanks
This bike is basically deacon st John's bike from Days Gone.
They need to make DCT available in the 600CC version of this. 10K is a still expensive for most 1st time riders.
i dont own a motorcycle but ive been looking into them lately. yall think this is a good first motorcycle??
Good first but great would be a 500 rebel it’s cheaper an lighter
You really cannot go wrong w this bike. Low seat height. Mild mannered and its a Honda. If u do not plan on doing hiway riding and more rural the XR150L is a great starter bike to.
@ShanenDanaShoemaker-wf4tr Is it too big for a beginner? I really know nothing about bikes. I just want to make sure it's automatic because no way I want to learn manual lol
@@johnstrika9170 better to learn manual most bikes are an honestly it’s more fun
@@johnstrika9170 lol we are the same. i didnt even know an automatic motorcycle existed but then i saw the rebel and now i need an automatic lol
No, that's not how that works. It's not like a handbrake on a car. You can actually ride with that on. It's a small brake on the back so that when you park on an incline, the bike will not roll. So if you sit on your bike, with brake on and put it in drive, you will take off. It's only there for when you park so stop rolling. BTW that's exactly my bike...I love that blue color
Im 5 foot 5,is this a good beginners bike to enjoy long term
Does it rev match in manual mode?
Just wanted to say thank you again for these reviews on the Rebels. My dream bike is and always has been an Indian Scout/Bobber. The Rebel will be my blessed learner. How long do you estimate they will last a responsible rider?
Thank you for watching! I am unsure of how long they last. But they will last enough miles to get your money’s worth!
I GOT MINE TODAY
Congratulations! Ride safe
What gloves are you wearing?
interesting color but im very happy with my full blacked out rebel 1100
I can shift next gear on the rebel faster than I can decide if I wanna shift or not
👍👌💪
Nice concept, but I'm still getting used to the automatic transmission. I personally like using the clutch, especially in slow speed turning situations.
You’re right. It’s a bit clunky in low speeds. But a blast on the freeway!
That is a nice bike
Yep felt really good to ride!
I’m 6 feet tall. Fit for rebel 1100?
You should be alright but I would definitely test ride it before buying one.
I'm over 6ft and find the footpegs too high. Comments please!
Yes, if you're maybe 5'10 or taller, this bike will be cramped. Only way to make it better is to install forward controls to stretch your lets out
No after market support and DCT make this bike a big “No”. Too bad they discontinued the 1100 Shadow.
Convert that chain, then take my money. It's a cruiser: No chain for me. Shadow Phantom it is. Yes, I'm giving up some stuff , but the Phantom is also cheaper. I need a commuter with minimal maintenance.
Shadow is pretty cool but is not faster then the 1100 rebel
@@kusuko..scla..213 I'm not after performance. It's last on my list. Need a commuter with minimal maintenance. I'm willing to give up speed any day of the week, twice on weekend! I sold my CB300F and vowed to never own another chained motorcycle as long as I live.
Aside from checking tension and cleaning the chain, what was your issue with chain driven?
@@alexneville8168 there is no "issue" per se, but it's maintenance I can avoid doing. I owned a CB300F: Cleaned / lubed its chain every 500 miles, as recommended by the manual.
A quien le importa 🤷♂️✌️
“Engine straight out of the Africa Twin”…. And then dumbed down😂
I wish they would have kept the 2 air filters instead of the one on the rebel 95-100hp would have been amazing on this bike 😂
Still no navigation eh. And the bike is as uncomfortable in 2024 aw it was it was in 2021. Dont worry i have one, its a unique bike but damn honda makes it impossible to upgrade and this bike is shit without ergonomic upgrades
I'm 6 ft. and the ergonomics are fine for me. Just depends on what you like.
@alexneville8168 the sitting position on this bike is atrocious in my opinion. The seat is garbage, the handlebars are way out there. Plus its not easy to replace the bars coz honda uses a 1inch bar that tapers to 7/8 at the controls and its a tbw bar. There is no bar in the market like that. Closest i found was the harley reach bars which i have. honda put the mounts for the gauge cluster on the bar clamp so putting new risers in this bike is also a challenge coz you will have to fabricate something in order to accommodate a riser. Its stupid the way honda went abt this bike. I still love but only coz of dct. Otherwise i pretty much hate the bike
@@gsin311 I get it bro. Everyone is different. I personally like the riding position, but you are right about the seat. It's dogshit
One thing Honda did admit is that they made the Rebel 1100 able to be up-graded, check out Life of Burch if you want to know the upgrades you can do, I followed him on his seat choice and just did 900 kilometer ride with nil sore butt or sore legs.
@rickhicks2445 i do follow life of burch and most of his videos he changes something and either some screw strips or something breaks. I have the same issues, i am currently trying to change the hamdlebars and the screw holding the guage cluster has strippped. This is like the 100th screw that has stripped on this bike. I am now going with socket bolt screws instead of the allen key ones. And i have done all the upgrades on the bike that burch has, minus one i think. Maybe i will make a video someday
Honda forgot that a Kruiser requires a COMFORTABLE footrest position with an open knee angle! The footrests are ugly, stick out and positioned too far back, too uncomfortable! A knockout criterion!
Check out the new video on the 2024 Honda Shadow with highway pegs on the channel. Thanks for watching!
That’s the STUPIDEST explanation of a DCT I’ve ever heard
I found it pretty clear 🤷♀️
That exhaust is uglier than home made sin.
It’s pug ugly…
yuck, took the fun out of riding a motorcycle by putting in an automatic
None of the Rebels is really convincing for me, the look is totally uninspired and awful. The exhaust pipe of the 1100 is a joke. The smaller ones are not agile enough, no match for the comparable Kawasakis. My Shadow has to do the job for the time being.
What is the comparable Kawasaki?
