I'm waiting for the Saturn V to take me to the moon 😊
Lol
Maybe they can provide a free NFT with every one as well?
Here are those who miss the videos of interesting 3D models
Lots more of those coming! Thanks for the feedback!
That tilting vat means you might be able to print larger objects flat instead of having to tilt them, which could save a ton of time.
prusa had a tilting vat on a 2 grand printer, I dont see how elegoo who makes cheap crappy printers could do a better job on a bigger tilting vat for 400 dollars
@awildtomappeared5925 just because you can't understand it, doesn't mean it can't be done effectively. But it's clear you came in with a bias.
@@got_logic1320 what and you do?? tell me then how a 400 dollar company by a company who make cheap crappy pritners (which I know from expirience, I have 2) is going to make a better system than a 2 grand printer from a company who produces much better quality products??
@@awildtomappeared5925 your "crappy" experience with Elegoo doesn't speak for everyone. Are they the "Best" 3D printers? No one's claimed that. But for their price point, they do very well. I have 3 Elegoo printers, including the Neptune 4 Max, and 2 of their Resin printers. They've all worked really well for my needs, particularly at their pricepoints. I've since moved on to Bambulab printers for obvious improvements, but that's a price-difference.
And as soon as my Saturn 4 Ultra arrives and I run through my tests, perhaps I can give more feedback. All I'm saying is you have no experience with this unit, and you have a biased opinion, so what you're saying doesn't necessarily reflect facts.
And if you have any knowledge of how technology works, the initial invention/use of a design usually starts off expensive with limited access. When the tech matures and is more available to everyone, you can get similar quality, if not better, with further innovations of said designs at much cheaper production. IE: Large 1080P HDTVs started off requiring loans to buy. Now you get 4K with better quality for cheap. You following yet?
@@awildtomappeared5925I can tell you from seeing what's available, that nearly EVERY company has produced a better printer than what Prusa has produced....
It bounces while breaking! 😅 I have to try this ball with a weird tough resin I have here. Great video!!!!
are you talking about the ABS like resin? I have tried it a year ago, wasn't very reliable. What is your current experience with this?
@@doesNotMatter999No, way more expensive stuff. There is a Sunlu Nylon Like that costs about twice, and an almost rubber-like tough resin from Conjure. There is even more costly resins (around 100$ per liter) but I never tried.
Thank you for this "first look" being deeper than some recently posted "reviews" ;) The tilting vat seems to be a nice addition for Mars series as well. Together with a heated vat instead of a standalone heater. Coming with Saturn V next year (who knows)? :)
Thanks for watching!! Always fun to see the iterations elegoo makes on their machines!
Its awesome! im already want change my saturn 2 for saturn 4 ultra
I really like the features on this and it looks lovely. The build plate does look difficult to clean without a wash station.
I have an OG Saturn 1, works great, still working amazing
But yea, this would be a nice upgrade :)
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! I think some of the most satisfying upgrades are done out of necessity and not want. Thanks for watching!
I love this. Normally Elegoo are trying to keep up with Anycubic. We will see how Anycubic responds. Amazing price for these features ✌️
Did you get the 150mm/h printing speed?
Pulled the trigger on the ultra today. Will be nice upgrade from my Saturn version 1.
Congrats on the new printer!
don't throw away the saturn 1, they don't make them that sturdy anymore
@@awildtomappeared5925 I initiat was gang to sell but doubt I’ll get much for it. Most likely take your advice and hold on to it. Thanks.
Me too. I told myself that the next resin printer I get will be a large format printer, but I couldn't let this one pass me by.
@@Thanos88888 16k medium and large format printers are coming, so that would be 28um pixels on larger format, those will be amazing
Nice video 🙂
Thanks 😁
Some nice QoL features.
At least they are showing the 19x24μm but still advertising screen resolution, which is pointless.
Still lacking vat and chamber heaters, which help, especially the vat heater.
They lauch a heater chamber like anycubic at the same day of saturn 4
@WildRoseBuilds any chance you could do a run down on what you think would happen in the event of a FEP leak? The tilt seems fantastic and likely greatly reduces the risk of FEP failure but is there any systems in place to prevent a leak from completely destroying the whole machine?
What did you use to slice the STL? Anycubic's Workshop is putting support in the middle of the ball.
I used chitubox. I might have had to edit the supports but I can’t remember!
Damn this is going to be an expensive year lol. Waiting to see how good elegoo's heater works
Wish I would’ve got one for this first look 🙄
From the video's, I've seen, I think a friction hinge would be good for this printer.
How tall is it with the lid open filly
Instead of having to use clippers to snap off supports on that ball try soaking it in warm water for a minute after you wash it in IPA. Even tough supports snap off without effort in a quite satisfying way.
That’s what I normally do, heat gun on low temp softens them right up! Thought it would be easier to wash and cure this one without it rolling g around 😅
how do u clean the build plate (the open space between)
There’s a tank clean feature that exposes the bottom of the vat creating a film which collects debris and can be peeled out. The rest has to be cleaned using isopropyl alcohol.
Fuck it! I just bought my Saturn 3 Ultra about a couple of weeks ago in the Easter sale. I was still waiting for it to arrive when I got the newsletter about the new Saturn 4 series. I would have waited if I knew its successor is coming.
Could always return it of you haven't used it yet lol.
keep in mind any time they make sale on something that mean they need to get rid of it as there is something new coming , in any product
plus you cant just buy a new model that came out 2 days ago, you need to wait at least 6 month to see how its working and what is the review about this new machine,
i believe you did a good job buying a working model on sale :)
@wasiza6475 Elegoo has a great record of producing quality machines though. Especially the resin printers.
I was thinking to get a Saturn 3, when I got the news about Saturn 4. I disappointed because they reduced the max height from 260 to 220mm....
@@wasiza6475 I bought the anycubic Mono X shortly after it's release. Pre-ordered the M3 max and later the m5s and the Kobra 2 max and had zero issues with any of them. Well, ok, I did need replacement parts twice but just a cable and a sensor for the Kobra 2 but that's something that's not something I would blame on it being a new product ;)..
Being completely new to SLA printing, I wonder how could you have avoided the print failure at the end of the your video?
What are the resins like nowadays? Still toxic and smell bad ?
Almost entirely yes. The good stuff is extra stinky and will give you turbo cancer.
But if you own a 3D printer, you can 3D print the parts to make a homemade air filter.
My main concern is if the FEP sheets breaks. Isnt the resin just going to flow in to the internals of the machine?
Not necessarily. Depends on the break. In my experience most of the resin stays in the resin vat after a break until it’s removed from the printer.
@@WildRoseBuilds Yeah most but I have seen plenty of bad spills so would be interested to find out if they have put in anything to potentially stop this
I sent a mail to Elegoo to ask about this. Waiting for their answer :)
Waiting for Dreamcast model
I’m not seeing a usb for air purifier as 3 ultra
The only problem I see with the single motor tilting vat is the uneven wear of the release film
fair point, but it's still probably gonna be less wear than when it's not tilting at all. And I'm not sure about this vat but I think all vats on all the printers I've had you were able to put in backwards. So maybe just turn the vat around every other print ;)
@@Abraksas112 Some printers, like the very popularElegoo Mars 3 and 4 series, have a vat that doesn't even fit backwards.
would've been nice to cause some fails or print something you know will fail and see how well the AI does. I don't have much hope for it but you never know
Agreed. As long as it works better than the ankermake ai camera 😂
It's amazing that they still can't put the on/off button and the USB port in the front.
Haha I think that’s a personal preference. The WiFi printing on this one was flawless
New video dropped 🔥
I’ll stick with my Saturn S
Pauper detected
Too little improvements and too late....a printer without chamber heating!?!?
It offers more improvements than formlabs new $4000 printer... As for bed heating, I agree, luckily they have their $50 in chamber heater you can install.
No heater 0/10
it's avaliable as an addon
50 dollar addon my chamber stayed relatively warm during printing so it may not need it
Not an issue for everyone. Living in Australia measures not having to worry about that type of thing.
tbh I'd rather buy one seperately if I needed one than paying more for the printer to have it included while I'm not gonna use it ;). I really don't understand why everyone is whining about the lack of a heater being included
@Abraksas112 cause it's nice to get it and not worry about it. but a heated vat is better
