- In this episode, I take apart a good portion of the car for no reason and fight off a bumblebee. The Touring misbehaves and rewards me with a check engine light. We also upgrade the front brakes with 330i brakes, big calipers and rotors and install M Sport control arms.

“You can get one 5x cheaper, but that will give you 5 more problems”
Words of wisdom
It is always _always_ cheaper to pay more for the right part the first time than to "save money" and have to do the job twice when the discount part fails. Buy once, cry once.
Buy cheaper, buy more often we say 👍
@@s6boystu Well... when I invite you to come out for a cruise, but you're busy dropping the subframe for the 3rd time, maybe you can comfort yourself by thinking about all the money you've saved.
@@daedalus_20v think you may have missed my point - if you buy cheaper parts, you end up buying them more often - meaning you end up doing the same job over and over again for the sake of a few quid on cheaper parts.
@@s6boystu Yes, you're right! I misinterpreted your comment. I read it as, "buy cheaper, buy more often is what we say (to do)" as if you were endorsing that strategy. My mistake.
I was about go to the store, but I rather watch my favorite channel.
Priorities straight hahaha
Same here lol
Like going to the bathroom without your phone, you just want it done and move along... LOL!
and he is right! i learned the hard way changing my cam sensor two times
Sreten isn't doing repair, improvement or maintenance. He is simply making love to his car and everytime it's a joy to watch. Greetings from Holland !
It makes you feel so silly when you do a bunch of disassembly and then it turns out it wasn't necessary because it was something simple! :D This past weekend, I put the rear fold down seats back into my car and then realized I had the seat belts wrapped the wrong way and now the buckles were on the BACK of the seat!!! So, this coming weekend, it's redo the back seats!
Its even sillier if you buy parts beforehand that you wont need so don't complain. :p
Or, week after week, a service writer instructions say, fix passenger rear and the driver front is the issue. Make you want to twist somebody's head off their neck
Humm. I wouldn't say it makes you feel silly at all. If you don't know mecanics, like I do, looking for the easiest way to fix is the only way to fix. So even if I would have probably been able to spot the steering wheel issue immediatly, that's only because that would have been the only thing I could have ever done. Glad Sreten did'nt cut that part. It proveshe knows how complicated it usually is.
Only 213k subscribers ? Come on Folks ! 😉
I can't help but think James May would love this channel. Not that I know him or anything, I'm just imagining.
You May be right .
Well he is known as best mechanic out of trio
STANDARD 🧐
genuinely my most anticipated series on CZcams
Dude is a genius. How can he stay so calm. I get nervous looking at all the parts on the table and panic when I think about how I am going to put them back.
I love the frequent uploads
Since he's a full time TalkToHimselfer the content has been consistent. Parteeeeh
"I cant believe I took the entire car apart and all I had to do was adjusting the lever." Working on BMWs, this is shockingly accurate :D
Thank you for leaving that in the video.
@@machtschnell7452 yeah gave me a good laugh
Why do I always want to buy a BMW after watching one of your videos?
You're not the only 😅
All I have to do is remember all the headaches I had and the grease i got on my hands from my 01 330i sport and that affliction is cured immediately.
Yes you're not the only one too.... greeting from Indonesiaaa...
Probably the best E46 on the road. Love this old wagon.. 👍
you're the first guy I'd trust if I bought another used BMW
YESSSS!! NO COPPERPASTE ON THE HUB! Finally somebody with knowledge about friction and understanding of bad effects of grease on a friction surface. I salute you.
I forget, this was the “it’s just a winter beater” car? 😂
This is award worthy content.
10 points for using "discombobulated" on a car channel. Just proves the absolute class you have here.
The recipe for the perfect friday: Cold beers in the fridge and a new video from Sreten!
Fans from Poland, are here too :))
Coooming up ! Again, greetings from Poland :) Definitely some parts prices in Germany are way to expensive, so it's nice that you found them in Poland :)
Just realized because of this channel I have completely become picky when buying parts. Loving the good oem stuff
The block of wood, the most underated tool in any workshop.
We are all definitely on the spectrum. That steering wheel knock would cause serious blood pressure. I absolutely salute your work sir!
The 80's theme music at the end makes me giggle every time.
I find working on BMW brakes a really nice job to do. I'm not a mechanic but always found them easy to work on.
2k views in 7 minutes. Crushing it Sreten
@Luvz 2riid I don't have your level of control 😂 I'm straight on them as soon as I see them.
“Keep it classy, keep it OEM” -M539Restorations
Best car mechanic on CZcams. Greetings from Brazil.
I don't own a BMW and I am not planning to buy one either, but man, I love this channel. The attitude of this guy is phenomenal, I love and appreciate how he does everything to keep his cars alive and in good condition!
I've got a LOT of favorite automotive channels on youtube, but I just made my first t-shirt purchase for one of them. M539 it is.
I never thought I would be so thrilled to see notification from YT like I am getting from this channel.
So much fun to see him work
Thanks for not editing out anything. Now i am feeling less stupid:
I remember disassembling a lot of my Phaetons interior in order to get the passeger air vent opening. Than i realised, that it only opens when you push the passeger air vent opening button, and not the drivers one ;-)
If all BMW mechanics were this diligent, the residual value of BMWs would be astronomical.
Also - it must be awesome when these projects come on the market; easily the best maintained examples.
Watching your videos reminds me why I bought an E46 10 yrs ago. Watching your videos also reminds me why I got rid of my E46 a few yrs after I bought it. I think had maybe a year without any problems....
Mechanical nerdery of the highest order, sharing your enjoyment messing about with cars AND hearing the word “discombobulated“ ? bliss. your channel is a joy.
I really like when you post your driving on the Autobahn❤️.
Having Autobahn to test your car is the best in Germany!
The E46 purrs nicely at 200kph.. well done Sreten!
Was just wondering should I do something productive..... Fortunately a new video from M539 popped up :D
The way you pulled out the new maf sensor 😂😂😂
When he said "into the dumper you go", I shouted: "IN THE BIN!"
As an Australian, I'm so envious of your German Autobahn. I had a seven and a half hour road trip recently, at a sedate pace of 110kpa. With an autobahn, I could have easily and safely made it a four hour trip.
This is such an entertaining channel. Much love for the station wagon (estate, touring, whatever you call it) that seems to be disappearing from options lists everywhere. I don't WANT a crossover! I don't WANT an SUV. I don't WANT a minivan.
I WANT A STATION WAGON!
Your knowledge, attention to detail, and humor are top notch. Thanks for great content.
I have to admit that this channel made me to have my own garage like this for my cars like you...best channel ever for bmw fan boys...
P.s. buy an e46 m3 to maintain pls
Karming Up!! The best editing I've seen on CZcams. And he's funny as well
I followed many chanels over the years but this might be my favorite. Keep it up!
I like how your BMW has a frunk @12:55.
Its an interesting quirk
"Were gonna drive this car until stuff starts flying out of the engine" 😂 😂 😂
Sreten my friend, great work as always. I've fallen (a long way) behind on your uploads and slowly catching up! Your videos are therapeutic.
A661 is the one to test the things :) see you there one day.
Bit late to the party, but subscribed now. Been silently following for a while now. Just brilliant every time. Great humour too.
Thanks Sreten, need to upgrade brakes on 2 e46 now! my wife cringes when she hears “Coooooming up...!” Keep up the great work!!
Just to come home from work with a long weekend ahead, a bag of fresh weed and some good food, just to see a new episode makes this weekend already perfect! Love the channel! Greets from you west-neighbour!
I know it always feels nice to hear it, so, you have talent my friend.
Hi Sreten, great video. Love the content, editing and your comments.
This is by far my most favorite YT channel. Keep up the good work! Love the car.
Better than watching movie 🎥 love you spirit and passion. Keep up the amazing work 🥰
This channel makes my heart happy ✊🏽
Top diagnosis of the MAF
Hands down my favorite channel.
I feel good knowing I’m not the only one who takes cars apart and feel silly later 😊
Fantastičan si! Veoma retko se vidja da neko koristi moment ključ za stezanje šrafova osim za glavu motora, naravno!!! Opet, FENOMENALNO!!!!
Watching this series made me buy another E46. Now I can't stop fixing things that don't really need fixing (To the normal person). Keep up the good work!
Welp, seeing that poster finally compelled me to order some swag; it’s definitely going into my own garage as motivation!
So glad u did not erase the part with the steering wheel lol
toptip : the guide rubbers also push back the assembly after braking , so the rubber needs to be somewhat new / flexible. and ofc lubing them up will result in brake noise :P
great work, as always!
do you have an idea why a faulty MAF would throw a code consistently on cyl.5? I'd expect the misfires would jump around on all cylinders.
I'm so happy I discovered your channel!!! I'm a Merc guy although having owed a F10 530d for three years, I do also enjoy BMWs. Your attention to detail is insane and exactly like what mine would be - if I was ever brave enough to tackle those jobs!
potentially my favourite although your E39 M5 is absolutely stunning and can't wait to see the E60 come along. Outstanding work sir!!!
You need to get some snap back hats for merch! I already have your mug, hoodie, and shirts. I need a hat my friend!
Thank you! Working on it :)
the more i watch your videos, the more i want a bmw
One of my top three favorite CZcams channels. Always informative and entertaining.
Which are the other two?
Hey, that is insulting. How can you expect me to relax when theres only 23 minutes of video from my beloved M539? I require MOAR
Spider was just looking for right torque for his car🤣🤣
Easy peasy lemon squeezy...as usual ! ✌️
This man is living the dream
18:35... yeah, i know it´s an unfortunate situation....but i burst into laughters!
Pretty nice work with this car. Haven't seen so watching these older videos off probably for a quite some time :)
I think this is my favourite car you have. Can't wait to see the M Sport upgrade.
As a 15 year E46 enthusiast who has fixed many of these cars, I LOVE the channel and the content! What a great wagon! I too run Style 135’s and they male the E46 look timeless!
Sreten's the man. Cool, calm, perfectionist with a sense of humour. Yes I would buy a used car from this man. Keep up the great work dude!🤙
BMWs from this era are just beautiful. And tney have timeless looking interiors.
I came across your videos quite by chance a few months ago and may I say what a pleasure it is to watch!
Well done mate!
You're always welcome in Poland, for small trip (even though I living in Scotland myself now 😂) but worth to visit :)
8:03 - that was the Depo lights ;) Greets from Poland :)
Hello sir.. I m from malaysia .. Currently i m using e39 m5. I am happy to see you utube presentation.. keep it up tq
Anything to make my weekend better is this
BMWs according to Scotty: endless money pits 😜. Nice cars though and you are a master in fixing them!
Super work and videos. Makes me pine for the E39 M5 I owned for 3 years. Skinned a lot of knuckles but it was a car I never should have sold.
Thank you for leaving in the steering play misdiagnosis. Even the best technicians goof up every now and again, we are all human after all. Thanks for the amazing content!
And the moral to the stearing wheel fable? "When the car won't start, first check the gas level!"
All BMWs wish to be serviced in this garage. Its heaven for them.
I love that you’re a OCD perfectionist.
I was about to write a comment "This car needs M bumpers" aaand at the and of the video, I got my answer :) .. Wonderful job and a great video to watch.. I cant wait for the next one..
Interesting that maf sensor caused missfire consistently in the 5th cylinder...
My thoughts as well, never seen that before, normally you just loose power and no money light comes on when the mafs go belly up.
I hate it when the "The my car wants more money light comes on" Classic.
seeing this makes me miss my E46´s
Mine bogs once when I apply throttle at lower rpm's. You're giving me the motivation to do something about it.
Have you considered the 2.93 diff from the 330i (and 328i) in place of the 3.15 your 325i has? That should lower the rpm at Autobahn cruising speed. Of course it might dull acceleration but we know you're going to be dropping the 3.0 in there before long, even if you don't know it yourself yet. Just until you source an S54, that is.
My favorite youtube channel!!!!
