Luv the designs you chose. Good tutorial here.
I love your work I especially love your tone of encouragement to your viewers. It shows in your work. Merry Christmas- Happy Holydays!
I bought a bunch of texas post oak, mahogany, and peruvian walnut. Gonna make these for family and close friends for Christmas.
Love your videos they are easy to watch and informative. Thank you.
Awesome! Have fun with it!
Glad the videos help. Appreciate your kind words!
They look great. Love the template idea. Subscribed.
Appreciate that!

Appreciate it so much! Striving to live by the verse in all arenas.
Great looking boards, thanks for the tips.
Appreciate it!
Ive done my share of these and done each one free handing the design. Thanks for the template tip. That I picked up here!
Awesome! You bet!
@@SixEightWoodworks this became of a good tuming as theyll make great xmas gifts and templates will speed up the process. Ive put little wooden railson the bottom to lift up the board from the table as its easier then to pick up. So thank you and all the best. Just discovered your channel and this far its been great! 💪
Awesome!
Gorgeous! Awesome!

Thanks! Not really looking to monetize, but will keep it in mind.
Excellent Work, and Good Idea
Thanks!
Hey man. Great video. So we do a lot of resin and wood boards. I want to batch out my handle designs. Bought that bit and my got for the life of me couldn't get it to go through the walnut. Yours look a little thinner then mine....maybe that's why. But I can't get through to the template with my bit. The same one you recommended. Any thoughts on that?
Any thoughts on being able to make them out of either Ash or Hickory? I know that those are 2 very dense hardwoods. Sure appreciate your time and thanks so much for this video! 🙂
Awesome video, you make it look easy.
Appreciate it!
Looks great
Thank you!
great video , I have made charcuterie boards before as well as cutting boards but this video has given me some new ideas and can take my project to a next level..... thankyou.... Go Hawks
Love it! Go Hawks!
Great video, good XMAS present!
Thanks!
Great work! You should try some of the shelf grip liner on your work table to keep stuff from sliding. I usually get mine from dollar tree.
Thanks! I have some and sometimes use it, usually just opt for an old towel.
Very nice boards, love walnut just have to watch out for the dust. Hard on the lungs. What would be the the minimum width you would go with! My planner is 12”, is that suitable or should I go wider? Thanks for any input. Don
Looks good. I recommend using methylated spirits instead of water when raising the grain. It evaporates much quicker and you can get cracking with final sanding almost straight away.
thanks for the comeback - Im not that great with drawing things. Thought you went to the web and found the designs there. once again thanks
Ok 8 m zip ouj@@34813ctr.. Llll.,?
Great videos :) I have watched a couple today and you really explain things well and your video/audio quality is superb. I think you will be flying past the 5K subscriber level soon!
Really appreciate that!!
Is there a video on how you made your router table? I need that in my life 🙌🏼☺️
Great video!
Thanks!
Where would be a good place to start with templates for the boards? Enjoyed your videos tremendously. Thanks
Thanks for sharing
Very nice!
Appreciate it!
Parabéns, quais tipos de madeiras você utiliza para as tabuas
On the sander some people get a big hand held and then build a bracket to bench mount it.
Very nice! Thank you for sharing...
Much appreciated!
Какие классные досточки. Давно мечтаю о таких. Настоящий мастер!👍👍👍
Amigó bendiciones hermano todo un maestro de la madera saludos dé Puebla 🔥 México
Super!
excellent!
Thank you
Thanks. Great video. How well does that bit deal with 1" maple and walnut?
It taps out around 7/8” cutting depth. Little trickier with the thick stuff. I just bought this one to handle the bigger stock: amzn.to/3kNkQD8
Where do you purchase you claro walnut? It is a beautiful species of wood. Great Video and awesome work!
It sure is! This was a super fortunate find on Facebook Marketplace. I know Cook Woods often has it in stock as well.
What mineral oil do you use?
How do you keep the handles from breaking off
Nice job. Question though, Why do most charcuterie boards have the big handles? Is it a necessity or just for design purposes?
Just the design aesthetic. You can use any board or tray to display charcuterie. The handled board is just really popular.
Awesome video! New subscriber
Thanks!
The boards you made are beautiful indeed but I'm a guitar builder so I'm just looking at all of that wood that could have been a guitar haha. Seriously though nice job!
😆 Totally get that. Thanks!
wow, those are niceeeeee
Thank you!
@@SixEightWoodworks don't get a big head Mister. 😝
All of your videos are awesome. Got a quick question, can you glue 2 narrower boards together to make the board or is this not a good idea. I have a hard time finding 12” wide walnut.
You could. I’ve done several that way. It’s just best to glue up narrow strips and alternate the pieces to prevent cupping in the board over time. Just two wide pieces could potentially cup easier. But definitely possible.
Thanks and keep the videos coming
I just made 3 walnut boards, not as fancy as yours and used butcher block compound to coat them - the question I have for you is where did you find the patterns for the handles
Awesome. I just drew them out with pencil. Here’s a video on how I made the templates: instagram.com/tv/B3BOV-iAYfL/?igshid=ld9vyikrotu9
Would you recommend using cedar? I have some with knots that would look great (I think)
I’ve definitely seen folks use softwoods. I usually recommend a hardwood. However, if it’s just for serving and not a cutting board, and the recipient understands it will need regular maintenance with oil and wax, cedar would work great. Love all the variations in cedar.
@Buzz Adams I’ve always been told cedar has toxins in it and shouldn’t be used for food related projects.
How do we buy one of your boards?
For the ca glue. If using walnut wood, would you recommend black or clear??
It really depends. I’ve done both. If it’s lighter walnut or in sapwood, I’d do clear.
awesome
Thank you!
Muito obrigado pelos seus vídeos Nick, Deus o abençoe!
Wonderful job thanks for the video, I
Didn’t get what u mean by washing the boards, can u please advise?
When you hand wash a wooden item, the wood fibers can get raised and feel rough to the touch. By raising the grain in between your sanding progressions, you can knock the fibers back down with sand paper. The final product won’t get as rough when hand washing a board after use. I talk more about this in my Cutting Board 101 video here: czcams.com/video/RTsKsDJoX2E/video.html
Thanks a million
Awesome videos! What type of mineral oil do you use?
Thanks! Here’s the mineral oil I use: amzn.to/3tZ55Lf
Good Job. I want to buy basic plans ?
Nice job! Try hemp oil, it dries real quick and it's %100 food safe ( no CBD) LOL. And then shellac w/ beeswax. Has a beautiful finish. Thanks for showing these cool ideas on cutting boards.
Sounds great!
Do you sell those online or is this a weekend at the street market kind of thing? Go 'Hawks!
I do sell them on our website ( www.sixeightwoodworks.com ) I’m out of stock right now, but hope to have more in January. Thanks for the interest!
I was wondering what epoxy you use and recommend?
If you check out this link, it has the epoxies I use and recommend: www.amazon.com/shop/6_8woodworks?ref=inf_pub_6_8woodworks
For filling voids, I’d recommend the Total Boat 2:1 with slow hardener.
Brad Iannantuon
Those boards look awesome, I would like to know the sale price for them, please.
Thank you so much! The price range varies a lot by size. Normal range is $80-$150. However, I have made larger ones. You can see some past boards at www.sixeightwoodworks.com
What's the thickness that you recommend for the charcuterie boards?
Usually around 5/8” to 3/4” Wouldn’t go bigger than 1”
Hello, I’m a new subscriber to your channel, if you don’t mind me asking how much is a average price for these boards?
No problem. You can see the range at my website: www.sixeightwoodworks.com A lot depends on the quality of the wood.
@@SixEightWoodworks thank you, one more question, have you ever tried using peach tree wood or nectarine wood for any projects or is it not good wood?
Do you mind if I ask what you sell theses for?
No problem. There’s a range for all the variables. Usually $80-$200 depending on size, wood species, quality of the figuring in the wood grain, etc.
👍
Thanks for sharing have a blessed day in the name of Jesus
Lol Jesus what a joke
@@LMCFootball That's just uncalled for. You or I may not follow a particular religion or believe, but show some class.
If knowing Jesus helps the world come across less people of your low character, I'd gladly be more open minded.

Is Linceed oil good to use
I’d probably avoid it.
OK Thank you
Thanks
Good design
I didn’t see the info on what router bit you used? Thanks
Here’s that bit: amzn.to/3COUOa1
How much do these sell for?
Depends on size and what species I use. Mine usually sell between $80-$200
Can you use pine
You could. Just would mark up really easily if you used a knife to cut. Hardwoods are generally better for longevity and other factors.
what is ca glue?
It’s essentially superglue. Regularly used as quicker void filler than epoxy. Starbond makes a great product with an accelerator to help it cure/dry in seconds.
Do you sell the template?
Unfortunately, I don’t. Not too tricky to sketch one out though.
Great video! How do you fill the voids? You said CA glue and activator but didn’t give a good explanation. Thank you!
Yeah, Starbond Adhesives CA glue works great. You just put a little in, spray their activator/accelerator and it dries in about 15 seconds. If it’s a bit deeper you can do multiple thin layers.
For major voids I use Total Boat 2:1 Epoxy with slow hardener. That takes about a day.
Here are the products I use: www.amazon.com/shop/6_8woodworks?listId=M9T12WHV8U0&ref=inf_list_pub_6_8woodworks
What's 6:8?
В таком темпе за смену можно на теплые подштанники заработать.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😃🇧🇷👍🏻
Ur boards look good & everything but would anyone buy them I’m not sure
Thanks. Definitely a lot of factors for sales. Each batch I’ve made usually sells out within a week. But plenty of variables for sales.
they look like cutting boards with a fancy handle and a french name to me. What is the difference? Real life difference? I mean, they look nice, but still...
CNC is easier
All I can say is “And Umm”
My only issue is, as a former safety adviser, you are not wearing proper foot wear. Yes, I know but just on drop and the Mrs. will have another crying child to deal with. 😀
Very true
