Your daughter dancing in the background was absolutely priceless! 😂
That’s a really good tip with the router bit on the corners of those coasters! Also love the little dance your daughter was doing, giving herself confidence in front of the camera.
I enjoy a good woodworking topic, and love seeing the family, kids, pets, etc. along the way. I’d welcome a moment or two of the local scenery, as well.
I love your family having fun 😊
Nice to see you all in the Shop!!! Young Actress!!!
your daughter made me laugh, thanks for that, needed something to cheer me up.
That is awesome brother. She is such a cutie and that is exactly what I do with most of my boards. I do a 45
Love the use of the router to do the rounded corners quickly! Thanks for the video
Great video love watching your daughter in the background that’s what it’s all about family first. Everything else second hope you’re wife and daughter’s business does well
How ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL that child is!!!!!
Thanks Jay
The roundoff w the router table is 👌🏻. Good thinking!
1:04 you have a photo-bomber.
i liked watching you fight that bushy machine with the stick of wood
Thank your for another great video. I find your content to be educational and inspirational at the same time. Great channel.
Great way to spend time with the family in the shop😊
Brilliant man - Soooo many good woodworking ideas and tips!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Good job Jay. I like the "coaster roundover" tip. Will try to remember that one! !! !!!
She’s at a perfect age, soak it up, it goes fast!
Oh yeah, cool charcuterie boards too 👌🏼
Always cool to find a Jay Bats video in my queue!
So many helpful tips! Thanks so much, Jay!! BTW, my favorite CNC bit is from Bits & Bits…love it!!
Bits & Bits for the win :)
Very interesting. Thanks, Jay.
Your daughter dancing with the umbrella was by far the highlight! ;-) Seriously though, I learned some things watching your process so thanks for sharing. Also, would love to learn more about your wife's laser biz. Like what does she like/not like about her gear, what would she do differently, etc. I'm considering getting a laser myself so I'm a sponge for that info.
A great age to have kids around and they are always little packets of energy and laughs. (mostly)
Great ideas, Jay. Thanks
very nice! It's great when tools that make life easier pay for themselves (hopefully haha)
God job
great video
Great work holding on the ol' Avid
I really like that router set up!!
Another awesome video!! Thank you!!
Jay, you are a good dude! Pretty darn cool seeing the family in the shop. That said, I always learn something when I watch a video of yours... so many little nuggets of info that I will come back and watch several times.... because I will say to myself, "Hey, I remember Jay talking about this I need to go watch it again more carefully so I can do it myself (uh, with much smaller machinery :)"
I Do all 4 sides with small feet on the bottom.
and I call it a floating board
I stopped adding the feet. I much prefer using a towel between the board and table/counter top.
That was a great video! Looked seeing your daughter dance! What a joy. Thanks for all the processing tips, they're solid gold.
Jay, I love those massive collets you have on your router table. What router/spndle to you use on your router table. I have been having problems with my Dewalt router collet staying tight on my table. Thanks.
Nice, Jay. Have you worked out a payment schedule for your work LOL? Love the photobomb, too.
Bill
It’s nice seeing the family in the shop. At the eight minute mark where you are tightening the router chuck… what router and chuck/collet are you using? I don’t think I’ve seen a collet like that. I think you have one on your CNC also???
Thanks for your time.
CNC is standard ER32 (?) collet. Router table is a precise collet: www.precisebits.com/gateways/ColletsNutsHome.htm
Tyler Kay, you're a clown 😂 We all love ya. 🦘
@jaybates, what is the brand of collet extender are you using in your table?
Not a collet extender. It's a low runout collet www.precisebits.com/gateways/ColletsNutsHome.htm
Cool stuff, Jay~! Is the collet used on your router table native to the router used there or is that an aftermarket item? It looks pretty heavy duty. Thanks~!
Aftermarket. Precise collets: www.precisebits.com/gateways/ColletsNutsHome.htm
@@JayBates Okay, I think I recall seeing that info in an earlier video of yours. Thanks brother~!
Good job
Since this is one of your rare times doing production work, i w9nder if you kept track of your hours. Would love to know.
Nope. Sorry.
🙏👏👍💪
You should look into getting a Rotacator to dial in your blades and rollers on the planer, should help get rid of snipe
Why bother with a compression bit if you are not going to cut all the way through? I find it funny when people use a router to finish the job that can be finished on the cnc.
You need to trademark the now famous "Bates Dance Troupe" (and work on your own dance moves). No tights please!
Too thick for the purpose. I would resaw in half . . . . maybe even in thirds, but in half for sure. My wife also agreed with that, so it's not just a manly bias. Look at the bright side though, you'll have twice the number of items for zero additional material cost.
Doing that today, actually. Wife agreed after I resawed one.
Sorry to thick. ❤
