    In this video, I test the Alpharex Luxx Series and their Pro Series head lights side by side to see which is the better buy. If you can spare the extra $300, then Luxx is the way to go. However, you really get alot of bang for your buck with the Pro Series lights. Either way, I feel that Alpharex has some of the best lights out there for the after market car world, from my use with them, and from what others have been telling me about theirs. Thank you all for watching!

Also went to the Alphrex site and they do have military discount once your service is verified, so that took the LUXX series to mid 600's. Vids are good though, keep it up.

    Thanks for the great review!! I purchased a 2021 4Runner Offroad Premium in the summer of 2021. I didn't like the shadows on the cutoff for both headlights so based on this video and another TRD JON video I purchased the Alpharex Pro with Lastfit LA Plus Series H7 LED Bulb 60W 6000LM 6000K Amplified Flux Beam for both Low and High Beam. When I go to DRL and Running Light Mode on the vehicle the High beam LED is lower brightness and flickers fairly quick. I understand the lower voltage to the LED because its the stock function of the vehicle but my questions are: Is this normal for the 2021 4Runner? Does this hurt the LED bulb? If it will hurt the LED bulb, how do I remedy this? I love the Low and High beam LED with the Alpharex and I don't want to get rid of these headlights but I also don't want to replace LED bulb frequently.

    Even with unlimited bux to pick either the Luxx or Pro, I would still go with the Pro only due to the hassle of replacing a whole headlight. Which means that I would need to purchase a set either for the future or eventually to replace a headlight. 30k hours is 3 years and a half. If I get the Pro, all I need to do is get a new bulb and done- forever. The Luxx or Nova I’m gonna need to wait for shipping etc. Not sure. It’s just more practical doing what I already do and that’s just change the light bulb. Not the whole headlight. Sheesh that sucks because I want the LED. Gonna be deciding on which soon for my Silverado. Thanks for the review.

    I am contemplating getting the alpharex pros for my 2012 F150. I was looking into retrofitting the reflector headlights I currently have but with the money and effort it would be easier to buy the Pros now and swap out the lights for LEDs(now or maybe later)
    I kinda like the little "dance" that they do at startup but it's not worth $300 more 😂 plus I like the ability to swap bulbs out vs having a built in light.
    Edit: I think on the F150s the pro have the same little dance, I was looking on the Facebook groups for reviews and someone posted a video of it

      I went with the pro series on my '19 Ranger. I don't have the DRL dance at startup but I do have the sequential turn signals. Your swap out will not be as involved as mine but for me it is sooooo worth it!

    Hi Jon! Incredible videos and channel! It's helped me so much as I'm new to Toyota and 4runners.
    Question about the Alpharex pros...I have a 2021 venture edition and love the stock headlight output. Can I use that the stock HID with the pro series? Thanks!

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  Před 3 lety +1

      The 2021 head lights are a different kinda light. You’d have to reach out to alpharex about that one. Your headlights are built into the actual housing

    • @andyham6094
      @andyham6094 Před rokem

      Why change it if you love the stock light output? For 2021 and 2022 you really don’t need to change them since they come with the leds on all trims unless you get them just for the drl strip. 2020 and older came with halogens so those def should be swapped out for leds like morimotos or alpharex. I have a 2018 4runner and been using the stock halogen headlights and fog lights for 90,000 miles now so it was time to switch up to aftermarket led housing. Got the morimoto xb led headlights with the amber drl and morimoto xb led fog lights and the morimoto taillights all during the Labor Day sale and they are a game changer.

    Hi Jon, very helpful video. I am choosing the best upgrade for my '12 Tundra and like the AlphaRex Pro so far, with the upgraded LED's from the link you provide. Question: the LED upgrade bulbs says its a hi and low beam fitment. Does this mean the package comes with a high and low, or is it 2 hi/low combos? If the a combo, how does it mesh with the provided high beam in the AlphaRex? Thanks for helping me sort it out :)

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  Před 2 lety

      You need to find the bulb size that fits for the tundra and not the 4r. I'm not sure if tundra is different.

    I thought I saw a white 4Runner with the Luxx a couple of months ago. Looked sick and I don’t think I could really justify 1300 for Morimotos even though they are only 300 more than the stock LED housing and all for 2021-+ from factory. Hmmm, these and maybe the Morimoto tails maybe a good way to go. I don’t like any of the other tail lights honestly.

    Hi Jon.
    I used auxbeam for my led in the pro housings. It has a dead black circle zone in the middle of the beam with these bulbs.
    Probly because the led chips on the auxbeam are mounted side to side.
    Unlike the ones you used are a 360 design.
