  • The Czech have three ways they drink Pilsner Urquell. It's the same beer, but each style is a very different experience -- it's all in the pour. Check out this video featuring trade brewer Vojtěch Homolka showing how it's done.

    When I poured a single bottle I got barely any foam that quickly receded… I’m sure the tap has a lot to do with this. Still it’s a well made beer, I would like to try it in a real Czech pub some day.

    In fact you can pour it 4 different ways. Hladinka (smooth) is the best for me. You forgot last one - Šnyt :-)

      @@rogerl6212 first of all, you can say muppet to your sister.
      I just commented that Pilsner Urquell is not a classic lager, but a Pilsner (or pils), that is a particular style of the big category of lager beers, and is different from classic lagers like Heineken, Fosters ecc...
      If the guy in the video called it lager, without mentioning that is a czech pils lager, he was inaccurate...

      herewegoinvt It’s delicious. I was confused like you but I can’t stress enough how incredible the foam is on this beer. They do a brilliant job of dictating the amount of co2 that goes into each beer with the handle. The foam itself is sweet, creamy, and aromatic.

      It’s not normal foam with oxidation it’s straight into the glass so it’s wet and sweet foam not airy and metallic

      it's about getting tighter carbonation bubbles so it's quite literally like drinking milk.

    Are there price differences between the pours?

    • @NotPointForward
      @NotPointForward Před 5 měsíci +1

      Milk is cheaper as there is less beer, it should roughly equal to a "small" beer aka 0.3 l. It would usually be priced the same as such small beer.
      The first two are effectively the same, just different styles.

    Vůbec nechápu že Václav Berka souhlasil s tím že tenhle frajer tam bude dělat to pivo. Vždyť jenom u toho piva na dvakrát je neskutečná chyba. To vůbec není top!

    Drives me nuts when they use water on my cup. Dry cups ONLY!!! The water changes the flavor. Even a few drops makes a huge and negative difference. Why after my first beer I always use the same cup amd ask the bartender not to wash it in any way.

    • @beardown2489
      @beardown2489 Před 2 lety +2

      Grizzly, if you’re sitting a quality establishment, the glassware is washed and sanitized. The water rinse removes the sanitizer from your glass and cools the glass down closer to serving temperature. This makes it easier for the beertender to pour a perfect pour.

    • @beardown2489
      @beardown2489 Před 2 lety +3

      Also, having the beertender put your dirty glass back into a draft system with lukr faucets would be crazy unsanitary. Please stop doing this. It’s gross
