How To: Military Bun

- How to make the perfect military bun, using my "Military Bun Cover". To get started I use my military bun cover, 5 hair ties, and a donut. I take the following steps to do the Perfect Military Bun. 1) Put hair in a ponytail 2) Slip on the donut 3) Spread hair evenly over the donut 4) Use two hair ties to secure the hair to the donut 5) Wrap the excess hair around the bun 6) Use the last two hair ties to secure excess hair 7) Use the Military Bun Cover to cover excess hair and get a professional look. I am 14 and plan to be in the marines too, when you get into highschool join JROTC if it is an option because if you join the military you automatically get promoted to a higher rank if you have been in JROTC for 3 years. That is what my friends recruiter told me.

Thank you for yp ur service, I'm in a Army Junior ROTC class at my local highschool. I am my Battalion's student commander, and I respect that you chose to remove your patches. I know a few army instructors who choose not to on camera. I love how you chose to, it's was a minor thing I noticed, but I think you look amazing in uniform, props to you my love, always know there are people out there that love you, and I am one. Thank you for your service!! When I was in the Army, 1980's, I french braided my hair, and then stuck the tail of the braid, inside the braid. Secured it with a couple of bobby pins I have red hair, the red bands were always too bright. Had to hide them. Love your bun, so much faster and looks great. I'm interested in a bun cover, more on the reddish side. Plz hook me up :) :) :) Gladly will pay for it.

Thank you for your service. I was in the AFJROTC program all 4 years in High School. I had long hair and had to wear either a bun or a braid with the tail tucked into the braid. However I would get docked if I had any strays touching my collar of the uniform.

Just make sure guys that your buns are within regs. Note: they can’t be more than 3.5 inches from your head or more than the width of your head. I’ve seen some crazy buns.
I am retired Air Force and I remember Sgt Dickman that sat across the aisle from me had one of those. I was always curious how she did this. We here the same rank at that time and did the same job. She was a damn good troop. I miss those days sometimes.

I was in JROTC in high school and always had to braid my hair back (I have like 3ft of hair) before twisting it into a bun (and making it stay by stabbing it with a shockingly low number of bobby pins- I perfected my technique over my four years), but I’ll have to send this video to my old instructors so they can show the youngins an easy way to get an in-regs bun. I live in Canada and in Canada we have a program called Cadets. You have to be 12-18 years old to join. I am joining this program in September and needed to know how to tie a bun. I tried other videos that taught me nothing. So I got a bun maker to make it easier and still was confused on how to use it. Until I found this video and as I am typing this I have a smile on my face and a perfect bun to go with it. It took me only one try! Thank you so much, you were very helpful!

Thanks for the response! Mine mos is 68c and I would be trained at Ft. Sill. My hair is shoulder length and whenever I wrap and tuck under my hair under the bun there's always some sticking out.

I was part of a female Cultural Support Team (CST) in Afghanistan a couple years ago. The girl I was with was a 68W, we did a lot of aid on Soldiers. We were in Eastern Afghanistan close to Pakistan.

hello! i'm watching this because i need to put my hair up in a bun for rotc when we wear our blues, but unfortunately i don't have a doughnut thing that you used. is there an alternate for the doughnut thing ?
Mary R: you can take a black sock and cut off the the ankle part so you have about a 3-4 inch tube. Then take a hair tie and roll it up in the sock. This is a homemade donut. I don't particularly care for this method but it's an alternative. You can buy the donuts at any beauty supply store or sometimes Wal-mart. Will your parents get you one?

This is exactly how i do my dance bun except instead of using the bun cover i use a net and i use pins as well as two hair ties. Its cool to know that the military has similar style 😎👌❤️
