Most of these activities are great for the whole family even if you have small kids. This is a great video if you're planning to take your family to Kauai. We are headed there in a few weeks. I can't wait!!
Yes. Kauai is a very family friendly island.
appreciate the ideas. going to Kauai in a few weeks, everything you mentioned looks awesome. will definitely check out most of these. thanks man, video was a ton of help.
Thanks. I appreciate you watching my video & your compliment even more. I know that you'll have fun but be careful on the north shore, the waves can get huge and dangerous during the winter. Most likely Queens Bath will be closed, but if not be extremely cautious there. Other than that, I'm sure you'll have an amazing trip.
Awesome video. Thanks for taking the time to share, so many great ideas.
Thanks. Hopefully you get the chance to visit & try some of these places out.
Thank you soo much.
Thanks for watching my video.
I m European and Iike it only one island Kauai 🏝 Extremely green ,covered tick rainforest, isolated island far away from America 🇺🇸 and Australia 🇦🇺 and Japan ,located in the middle Pacific ocean, that's why I like it .Also one of the most safest island in the world 🌎 Kauai, no another islands exist. I m living 30 years in the garden island 🏝 of Kauai
Yes. Without a doubt it's an amazing place.
One of the best videos I’ve seen on the topic. Thanks
Thanks for the compliment!! Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m going to this beautiful island in early April!
Oh my gosh, I’m so jealous!! I am missing the Hawaiian islands more than ever right now, especially Kauai. Please, get some sunshine for me.
Are you back? How was it? What did you do?
@@mindfulnae4904 Oh man, I wish.
I watched a 100 videos. so far this was the most helpful. thank you for your efforts.
Thank you so much! I appreciate the complement more than you know. Are you traveling to Kauai soon?
@@TravelingWilde im going on the 24th with wife and 2 girls (6/8). What i couldn't learn so far is where to stay. If to have one base or 2 /3 bases to spend nights and do attractions by areas. Kids are good hikers but Don't want to push it.
@@liorweisspi we like to stay out in Princeville because it’s close to Hanalei Bay. Hanalei Bay is my favorite place in the world.
You want to find a vacation rental out there.
And you may want to stay in Poipu for a night or two to check out the beaches and other things in the south.
Don’t forget to subscribe to our channel & ring that little bell to receive notifications each time we post a new video. Thank you!
Nice job man, thanks!
Nicolás Sanguinetti Thanks for the compliment & for watching my video. I’m actually heading back with my kids shortly. Can’t wait!
Great video and amazing tips! What month of the year was this? Heading out in Dec but not sure how wet the north side will be to do any hikes in that region.
Thanks for the compliment. This was in the summer. Kauai can be quite different in the winter. You'll want to be careful playing in the water on the north side of the island in the winter. Strong currents kill people every year, no joke. Some of the best hikes are on that side of the island though. Best of luck & please let me know if you have any other questions.
Really enjoyed this video!! Had a chuckle at her pronunciation of rambutan. It's said like "rahm-boo-tahn".
Ha Ha. Thanks for watching & for the help with rambutan. Where are you from?
May I ask what camera you were using for the couple and group shots and sea turtle shots? The clarity and color were amazing! Beautiful pictures and great ideas! We're heading to Kauai in 4 Months!
Excellent questions & thanks for the compliment. We used the iPhone 8 plus for many of the out of water footage but have since upgraded to the iPhone 10 Pro Max. In the water we used the GoPro hero 8 but have since upgraded to the GoPro Hero 10. I highly highly recommend the GoPro Hero 10. It's absolutely the best product on the market by a mile. I have recently released several videos with others coming soon showing the quality of the GoPro Hero 10 & the iPhone 10 Pro Max. I recommend checking out those videos to see the quality. It really is amazing!
Great video you guys, I have a question about what to take on your hike and also I like your Kauai shirt that has camouflage, where did u buy it, P.S. Me & the wife are going Kauai in April 20' for 7days ,how much did u guys spend in all activities?
Oscar Flores thanks for watching my video and for your great questions. I got the Kauai shirt in Lihue at a shop near Dukes. A lot of the activities were free, but pricing is seasonal. Call the companies before you head over and get pricing and make reservations. Best of luck to you. You will have a lot of fun. We love it there!
Great stuff! Very helpful as we will be on a family vacation to Kauai in October. If you have any pointers on that time of year please share. Thanks again!!
Scott Bennett Thanks for your comment. In October, you’re just getting into the winter months so the waves and currents can be strong particularly on the north shore, so be careful if you get in the water in those locations. If you want to see turtles, you’ll want to arrive early in the morning before the beaches fill up. Be careful if you visit queens bath. Another person just drowned there. Other than that, the place is absolutely beautiful. If I could live anywhere in the world it would be Kauai.
@@TravelingWilde Thanks for the tip. We will use caution for sure. looking forward to this especially today....it is currently -5 degrees with a -20 degree wind chill in Milwaukee.
Scott Bennett yes, I definitely understand that! We are only slightly warmer here in northern Utah right now. It’s always great to get to tropical weather. The other thing I would recommend is to get plenty of fresh fruit as you drive around the island. I especially like the Lilikoi.
@@TravelingWilde Go Utah! I work in Lehi. Headed there in April!
Michael Stevens | Capital Wealth Advisors Awesome! I live in Eagle Mountain but work in Lehi. I know you’ll have a blast in Kauai. So far, it’s my favorite place I’ve ever been. That being said, I still have a lot to explore
Thank you for not Blasting the location of the Turtle caves out! but also glad you saw them. It would be huge disappointment if it started to get over run with people. After the 2018 flooding the small beach area at the entrance was mostly washed away and lots of dead fall had washed in the entrance. Cant wait to get back there in Aug. hoping the road opens back up!!!
Why not share the location? I was just there last week and visited the cave and saw the tortoises with my wife and we had a great time and then I made a donation to the cave caretakers. they want people to visit them. So I'm not sure what your angle is.
Joe this is one of the more private areas left on the island, not a lot of people who are casual tourists get there and I would hate to start seeing people blast the location on a platform like this. Next thing you know some idiot will get hurt trying to go down and just generally start to get over run. Don’t get me wrong I always share location with family and close friends when on island but i think it would suck to start seeing people post up on line. It’s been a fun little spot for us for 15+years.
Keep the hidden spots hidden. There's already too many dam tourists ruining the rest of the states so let's keep these few gems only available for the true outdoor enthusiasts. Those of us who really appreciate nature and it's wonders by maintainin places exactly as they were before we visit.
I think you're thinking of the tortoise reserve @@Joe-mz6dc
Joe, thanks for watching my video & for your comment. I'm glad you saw the turtles & grateful for your donation. This location is special & to be honest I almost didn't post the video for fear I would somehow be responsible for making this unique & special place a tourist trap which would quickly chase these wonderful creatures away from one of their private resting places. That's my angle. Thanks again for watching.
Like #777 Comment Number 100... Good Signs of Prosperity Ahead...!!!
Yeah, no kidding! That's cool.
22:39, is that a snake to the right? Wow!
Xiaoyu Lu Wow, that really does look like a snake. Fortunately, in Hawaii there are no snakes.😅
New sub here. 🤗
Thanks for watching & subscribing. Best of luck to you.
You guys have actually given the best tips! Thanks a lot...visiting in 2 weeks :-)
Awesome! I’m so happy to hear that. Have a great trip. It’s my favorite place in the world!
omg I have been to turtle cove I had know idea it was secret
Yeah, it’s a place the locals don’t want everyone knowing about.
Too many people in that location would definitely scared the turtles away, possibly permanently.
Hiking in slippahs = brave...
Brave or stupid. For whatever reason, I always do it. Maybe because I hate walking in water soaked shoes or maybe it's because it's easy to clean off the flops??? Who knows. Thanks for watching & for your comment.
@@TravelingWilde I did that in Maui at the blowhole past the Road to Hana...um yeah never again..haha. :)
@@iamknosound Yeah, me too. That was a LONG day! I was glad to be back on the other side of the island. There were some great waterfalls though & that black sand beach was pretty cool too.
Did that in flip flops!!!
Damon Harvey Yeah, not sure what my problem is! Thanks for watching!
If the gate is closed at Queens Bath, do not go round it. It’s closed for a reason. Many lives lost and can be dangerous at certain times of the year. Plus, wear proper shoes for going down. NOT flip flops..
At least glad you warned people about its dangers but so many ignore that. You’re right, locals are very upset about all the parking issues. Some people have no respect for the fact that this area is a local housing neighborhood.
Yes. If the gate is closed don’t go in.
It's always closed.
Do u need a permit or day pass for Hanakapiai Falls?
I’m not 100% sure but I’m don’t think we paid any fees.
Hi Tyler, Can you recommend which area of the island would be the best location to stay for us. We love to hike, snorkel, surf and swim but we don’t want to spend a lot of time driving. Thank you! Mahalo 🤙
Kammy Israel, I live here. Best place around kapa’a. It’s halfway to each end of the highway.
Kammy Israel Princeville or Hanalei Bay.
Kammy Israel, Keep in mind that these travel bloggers who come here one time and think they know everything.
Hi Kammy, when I was young I lived in Kauai. This Matt H guy is leading you way wrong. Kapa’a is a terrible place to stay.
Verne Schmal, to just make a blanket statement saying Kapa’a is terrible just shows that you are ignorant. Did you even read what she said? She’s concerned about too much driving so that’s what Is important to her. When was the last time you were there since you supposedly grew up here?

Cool just leave the turtles alone.
Yes. In future videos I'm going to be more clear about it.

Wiamea is spelt Waimea
Thanks for the heads up. I know that, I’m just an idiot and spell things wrong all the time.
Why no links ? Like wth man?
LOL. Google Brother.
Sorry for not putting links. I'm trying to be & do better. Thanks for your input.
YOU DO NOT VISIT QUEENS BATH IN A WINTER !!
Yes, that is GREAT advice. I should have said that in my video. Thanks for your input.
Good video. Lose the sun glasses and hat, Fred Durst.
Clayton Siddens Hey man, thanks for watching my video.
good vid, amazing place! But a little advice champ, 40-year-olds have no business wearing a cap tilted to the side like a thug. lol aloha!
Jay Tre calm down Jay. Mahalo
Thanks Verne. The hat always seems to end up sideways. My grandpa often wore his hat the same way & as a kid I thought it was cool. He recently passed & he was a POW in World War 2.
i cant stand that stupid hat. love everything else.
Shelly Renee Esquire Thanks for watching the video and have fun in Kauai.
