There is a couple reason why there's so many chickens in Kauai... On the island a while back the hurricane winds destroyed most of the island's coops and blew countless chickens out of farms, scattering them from coast to coast. Next time when you go to Hawaii you should visit island of Oahu and go to the most famous local bakery Leonard's and try the legendary malasadas. Rainbow Drive-In is another famous local spot to eat for a reasonable price. The popular dish there called Loco Moco Bowl I heard was truly delicious from my cousin who currently live there.
Bringing back some wonderful memories! We went to Kauai in May of this year and my fiancé proposed at Waimea Canyon. Can’t wait to go back one day. I’m surprised where I live (Australia) not many people know of Kauai and most tourists visit the other Hawaii islands.

The hidden waterfall you where going with the kayak is the same you saw from above, the wailua, after the kayak you have a muddy hike, literally mud over your knees, so fun . Just came back yesterday from kauai! I want to go back so bad!

The Jeep with the top down idea... be aware that it can rain several times a day on Kauai. Sometimes very heavily. Kauai is much wetter than the other islands. Plus, the roads and highways generally have little to no shoulder and few places to pull out of the traffic. This is a major road hazard there. So pulling over quickly when a heavy rain hits may be dangerous or even impossible.
Locals would never do it!! The cops can always tell the tourists! The Walmart has great island stuff for sure. Re the chickens... it takes about 5 years to stop hearing them at 3 am. 😱

You can't go to Kauai and not take the Helicopter Tour! Easily the best viewing adventure I have ever had anywhere..majestic and spellbinding..i was in total awe of the beauty. It is like a religious experience the first time you visit Kauai..and each time afterwards. Napali Coastline will make you want to cry it is so beautiful..either by air or Sea..i have done both. Hope to end my days there.

Hey Paulo! It can be really windy, and since the island is small it is hard to find places that aren’t restricted so make sure you look it up! It’s some of the most beautiful landscape in the world!!

Costco was a blessing for us since stupid, shit United Airlines lost our luggage - They had a variety of different beef jerkys my wife and I never had before -
having been there about 15 times, you did a great job of your video.....did i miss a mention of shave ice???....also, did you go to waimea canyon....i didn't see anything about that.....your Na Pali cliff boat trip brought back so many memories....we went completely around the island on ours...but...it was a catamaran & an all day cruise.....&, yes, lots of dolphin....i think, like the chicken, they wait for the tourists....did you know the chicken being all over was the result of a hurricane that ruined their coops so...they were all just set free....also, did you go past the Coco Palms....now destroyed but....so many memories of happenings there...we stayed there before Iniki destroyed it....what a lovely place it was...
Too bad the Coco Palms resort isn’t rebuilt and open, now that would be a prime resort for any honeymoon and it’s across the highway from Wailua beach, Elvis Presley, Danny Devito and Nicolas Cage shot movies there.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a great location and was pretty reasonably priced. The only thing to consider there, is we were charged a daily fee that was not included in the price of the package, that ended up being like 20 dollars a day extra.
I would highly recommend Kauai Shores Hotel located in Kapaa. It’s significantly cheaper than other hotels and is in such a great location in travelling east north and south! It’s also near Lihue airport. The best thing about Kauai Shores is the lava lava beach club- restaurant right by the beach and they have live Hawaiian music every night
It really depends where! There are some trails that are exceptionally clean. But there are others like the hike to queens bath and some hidden waterfalls that are a bit of a trek.
Yeah..you had fun but you are like a lot of tourists who feel entitled to ignore signs about places you shouldn’t go, like hiking down to Wailua Falls. I’m sorry, but so many travelers think nothing will happen to them on vacation. Well, it does, and lives are lost or severely injured because of the attitude that if you can get away with it, do it. I’m glad you had a good honeymoon, and no problems, but risky things can often end horribly. I’ve been going to Kauai yearly for 30+ years and I’ve heard of so many sad stories. People who ignored posted warnings and their vacations ended in tragedy.
Thanks for helping convince my wife and I to go visit this beautiful island. Oh, the name of the place that served the breakfast sandwiches is called "Mermaid's Cafe" from what I can tell.
