Jay joined Valerie Simpson and the late Nick Ashford for the background vocals. Hope you enjoy the stretch!

Just in case you didn't know, the owner of this channel, mosogotam, whose real name is John Perrone, sadly passed away in March 2020 from COVID-19. He was an absolute genius for this and all the other wonderful tracks he created. May he rest in peace.
OMG...oh no. May he rest in Peace and Power with the Angels with 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
Oh dear me, I've just notice this message. How very sad indeed. I didn't know him personally but our exchanges via this group were always very nice. A Gentleman indeed.
😥
Than you for this. I can't tell you how much pleasure I still get from hearing his extended masterpieces here. RIP
@@BocaJoe Very sad, a great loss.
Love the sixties
What a gift...an extended "Apple, Peaches & Pumpkin Pie...you were young and so was I!" Thank you, Mosogotam...
One thing I noticed about all those bad classic jams we grew up with they always had a baritone sax in the background solid
👍
"Stretch" away all you want--great classic

I want it.
As a 12-year-old kid I lived in a little town 130 miles west of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. There was very little to do there. I bought a 2-transistor pocket radio from my brother for 50 cents. I repaired it but I couldn't pick up anything. I went and bought a roll of brass snare wire and strung up a Rube Goldberg antenna on the roof of our bungalow. Still couldn't pick up anything during the day. But at NIGHT...whooaa NELLY!!!
I was able to pull in stations 800 miles away. It was like another world. I heard music from the States that wouldn't reach Canada for 3 or maybe 4 days. When I listen to the great extended versions you make of songs I heard on my little 2-transistor radio late at night....well, it brings back some vivid and wonderful memories of those times. When were those times? From 1966 to 1969. I am eternally grateful Mosogotam. Thank you.
you probably picked up CKLW in Windsor, Ont. where I'm from!!!! Was the most powerful AM station back then.
@@donnamariebrown2478 Hi, Donna Marie Brown. It was only today (March 25, 2022) that I revisited this channel and saw your reply to my comment.
I am sure I did pick up Windsor at some point. I know I could pull in Sudbury, Hamilton and Toronto to name a few. My reception radius reached as far as Wheeling, West Virginia, and included cities like Boston and Detroit.
I came back here to see if Mosogotam had recently added anything, but I guess not. Too bad. He did good stuff.
I don't know if you've ever heard of the Music Enhancement Channel. It was created by Kenn Wingle and is still on CZcams. If you read the "About" section, you'll see that Kenn had some impressive musical credentials. Kenn took recordings of oldies rock n' roll songs, cleaned them up and added instrumentals and/or vocals to his remixed version. His enhanced versions sounded like the original SHOULD have sounded like. Visit Kenn's channel. You won't be disappointed.
Sadly, Kenn passed away on January 3rd 2022 of a heart attack at the age of only 66. I have been trying to get people to visit his channel just to keep it active, in case CZcams has a policy on such things.
If you do go there, you'll find a brief eulogy I wrote. The man's talents and devotion were unique, and the work he did may never again be attempted. It would be an additional tragedy if all that he has done gets lost to history.
Anyway, thanks for reading this long-winded ramble and also for replying to my comment.
Take good care. Be happy.
@@kenkesler3087 I've heard that Mosogotam has passed. Too bad, what he did with the music was magical.
@@donnamariebrown2478 I'm starting to feel old.
@@donnamariebrown2478 If you do visit Kenn's channel, I forgot to mention that my tribute to him can be found in the comments for his last entry. It was a remake of "Sunday Will Never Be The Same" by Spanky and Our Gang.
This song has somehow worked its way into my mind in the last few days, so i went to the search engine and guessed and now here i am

Well, I'm 3 years older and never heard it before. Beautiful music.
Maxim Edwards isn’t it great that this can still happen to us?
@@TheUphillracer Yes it truly Is.
Whoa I can't believe you guys never heard this and you were there. I was -1 but I remember my Mom liking and singing along to this so I always think of her when it comes on,it's bittersweet.
Omg the keyboard playing in my left earbud is amazing, what a great song. Another great mix by moso
Love the horns too ❤
This was one of my favorite songs as a kid back in those days, glad you made an extended version. I always liked the organ riff, fun song, Thanks.
Thanks, Steve!!!

I was 14 when this was a big hit. Thanks for the memories John.
Thank YOU, Andy!!!
Classic northern soul, you sir are a superstar ,great to hear these classic songs extended i'm sure the artists appreciate it too.ktf john
What a happy sounding song! 😊
Whoa I never knew Nick and Val did backgrounds on this gem 😱
+Brutha Dnubian - I never know that either! I can't imagine how they were present there for this recording. Plus for me it's frustrating that this song didn't go to #1.
AshFord and Simpson were everywhere back then. Two of the best songwriters of all time. Don’t get enough credit. They wrote the single greatest song of all time in my opinion. Ain’t no mountain high.
Another masterpiece by moso . Great job bro
Thanks for creating an extended mix for this classic.
Thank you, Fred!!!

No one did remixes better than John Perrone
Ok young man
would like to see what you could do with
Gene Woodbury - Ever Again
Bernie Williams - Ever Again
make a good duet out of the above?
How many people commenting here have since passed?...
